I'm sorry but your opinion was just rendered utterly invalid by your admission that you've never tried out Halo.
Your description of the combat in it was hyperbolic and incorrect. And you certainly can't 'spray' rockets.
I find COD hardcore to be even easier mode than normal. You kill so quickly, it's just heaven for campers. People who think they're more skilled because they play hardcore are very mistaken.
Granted, not having played one among a flood of different shooters certainly strips me of the right to form an opinion. Thing is, compared to she shooters I've played (Ut 2003-2007, 3 different quake games, cs 1.6/css, flashpoint, rainbow six, borderlands, several half lives and about 10 other franchises I can't remember right now), Cod hardcore is as good as balance is going to get. (I by no means consider myself superior because of that, it's just the most fun.
to me )
You said earlier, that you take good aim, and good reflexes as a measurement of skill. Both get the more important, the easier you die. As does situational awareness, due to campers, and the ability to navigate safely through the map, without any maps or other help features other than your eyes. Which is, together with the removal of any tools aiding in aiming (crosshairs) what sums up the call of duty - hardcore experience.
And of course, the 'one bullet, one kill' policy solves two of the biggest problems in multiplayer fps, being the differences in health at the start of a fight, and the differences of guns.
If in say 'Ut 2007 (where you can spam rockets by the way) two people meet, one of them full shields and health, the other one down to 17 hp - whos gonna win? The better player or the guy with more health?
If the same two people meet with even health, but one has the enforcer pistol, and the other one has the minigun - again, whos gonna win?
Now in a Match of cod6 hc, the same players meet, one of them with three bullets left in his usp.45 and the screen flashing all red from falling, the other one with a fully loaded m4 and full health - who wins? The better player, that is, the one whos first to score a hit.
Now share your wisdom, which do you consider more balanced?
Live and let live and all, I'm just a little sick of all the hate that a game gets that, and many haters fail to notice that, is a lot of fun to a lot of people.
