This is actually kind of funny from an outsider's perspective: watching americans debate the best and worst places for antiamericanism.

I'm Australian, so colour me French, those guys can't get enough of us. I found them incredibly polite, but they're serious sticklers on people at least trying to learn the language is you go to France. If you go in there without knowing what to say, please to be prepared for rudeness.

Agreed. As soon as the french realise you're australian and not american (and if you at least try to learn french), they suddenly speak perfect english and will answer any of your questions.
Have you been to Villers-Brettoneax? It's a country town near the somme that australian soldiers liberated in world war one (twice). The school there was amazing. Apart from looking like it had been shipped brick-by-brick from Victoria, there was a massive sign in the playground saying NEVER FORGET AUSTRALIA (obviously in french). Made me feel all patriotic and awesome.

OT: The nicest country I've probably been to is New Zealand. I've been to america, and the people are . . . alright I guess, but the New Zealanders are suprisingly nice despite their rivalry with australia.

Canada

Canadians complain about Canada, that's just because they haven't experienced the rest of the world. Even Quebec is creepily well mannered compared to the rest of the planet, although they take their 'Frenchness' a little too far, even the French aren't quite that French.
Hehehe , that's funny, and that's coming from a Quebecer :p

Canada's a really nice place imo, all of it :)

Canada is nice...except when they tip. They're notoriously cheap.
I'm Canadian and I always tip the accepted 15%
15% is a breakfast and/or lunch tip. If you receive good service for dinner, you should be tipping 18-20%. In the US, servers make between 2.13 to 3.50 on hour depending on the state and genre of restaurant so every little bit counts.
Well there's the problem, servers here make about 10-15 dollars an hour depending on the restaurant, PLUS their tip. Currently in Ontario the minimum wage is $9.50, so it's literally illegal to pay someone less than that. So I really don't need to tip that much. Waiters at high scale restaurants here actually make a killing.

I've always imagined Canada and Australia as nice countries, but then again, I'm an ignorant American who knows nil about the world.

Damn our education system, we never learn anything useful.
Maybe you didn't, but I learned plenty that has been useful.

I also know that Australia is a hot red wasteland full of animals that are waiting to kill you just for sheer pleasure of it. Seriously they won't eat you. They just want you dead. This has made the Australian people a hardy bunch. They learn to stay one step ahead of their enemy - mother nature.

As far as Canada goes, snow and Washingtonians are the only known enemies of Canadians... Oh and moose calvary, but you don't see them very often anymore. Therefor the Canadians have adopted a form of hibernation to hide from the dreaded snow, and tourist seasons. They only emerge during the few months where there is not snow, and no tourists this makes true Canadians hard to spot in the wild.

If you wish to know anything else about either of these very alien lands you may ask or consult the American Guide Book to Foreign Soils. Also no thanks are needed, I am always happy to pass on the knowledge the great education system of American bestowed upon me.

Ireland, New Zeland, Australia are top 3

Dur, dur, dur. Look at me being trendy saying my country is the worst place in the world. Cause thats popular now. I sure wish I could live in a magical land of happiness like Darfur.

Look the US has its problems but it is a far cry from the worst place in the world. Stop trying to be a trendy US basher and make a real statement.

Hmmm I would say some where in Africa, in those clips you see everyone is all dancing and happy and playing. Although the poor countries that are cursed with famine and disease I think that kinda make you not want to go to those places, maybe South Africa is as nice as the rest or somewhere around that area.
I hear South Africa has nice beaches ^_^

Italy. Nuff said.
On the the only 2 occasions I've been to Italy, everyone seemed really friendly and happy. Well, everone who I came into contact with did anyway. Apart from this one yob who yelled at us, but he was probably just bitter that he'd lived his whole life up in a small town in the hills. One waiter in Rome was so cheerful he even ruffled my dads (thinning) hair and joked with us :D

So yeah, I agree. But then I'm used to grumpy Welshmen, snooty Southerners and general British-ness, so whenever I go abroad the natives seem nice...
I'd like to go to Italy, and England, but I'd get killed in England :O
Yeah Italy is a lovely place :) And why would you get killed in England? Were not that bad...

Meh. I went to Florence and Elba, and most people were unfriendly. Rome was friendlier though, I'll give you that.

Probably Switserland or something like that. Not England or the U.S. though, definatly.
England=/=UK.

I'd say Sweden or the Netherlands. Barely ever spoken to anyone from those two places that I could call even remotely asshole-y.
At no point did that person say that England=UK....

Anyway, my vote goes to China. Seriously. It's SO friendly.

What the funk? Jamaica is a horrible country!
The amount of shootups and shit over there, it's not like the media makes it out to be.

Actually, there are exceptions to minimum wage in Ontario, and servers are one of them. They can legally be paid below minimum wage because they expect the server to make money off tips to counter the lower wages.

Also, Canada is a big country, it really depends where you go, and I think we tend to squable more so at the idea of each other. From coast to coast we are all vastly different, which has caused a bit of an identity problem in our country. People in BC are chill, Alberta are kinda hickish but always up for a good time, Saskatchewan is filled with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet and also the highest crime rate in Canada... Southern Ontario tends to be jerks and is disliked by the rest of the country for the most part but does have it's gems, Quebec is filled with some of the most ridiculous parties, and really nice people but has its areas that hates the anglophones... I don't find Canadians that nice but that might be because I live here.

I've only really been to New York, and it didn't seem too much different really, some rowdy drunken idiots, but we have those too, their wives did bake us cookies though...

I was told you all hate Americans, and treat us like shit :p Well then :D
:O

Thats a bit harsh of us. Where did you learn of this? :p

I suppose some places don't like you guys, but I cant see why. Hell, come to my area. Its in the country so the locals hate all outsiders equally, they don't care if you're an American or not :p
