As far as I know it only works on xp and vista.

step by step of what happens

>download Escapist Demo.zip
>open with windows explorer
>double click the 'game' application
>this comes up

>pressing extract all caused a loading bar and eventually a non responsive windows explorer
>explorer resets.

I think what you need to do is right click on the folder that looks like this

And choose "extract all" from there.

I think that should work, if I understood what you said before properly.

Download winRAR. Also, try extracting to a shorter address (like your desktop) if you're not already doing so. I've seen a few games not work because of the length of their address, though those were mostly rips rather than proper games.

The new demo allows you to choose between different mods when you start the game, after you finish the game you can then start with a custom character which you can edit with your name, also there's a secret hidden somewhere in the level which can only be described as ultra-awesome.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this sentence is silly. I understand what you're saying, but it's mostly the way you've phrased it.

yes, I realized that the phrase above was incredibly cryptic, so i guess I'll give it away(sort of) to everyone who hasn't seen it.

look on bottom right on the wall, you will find a menu with several options including resetting all the enemies, and a character select screen with a secret character, but I'll leave you to find out who.

Not to state the obvious, but you did go searching for Graphics/System/Window, right? Did you explore the zip file to see if the folder was there? It *could* have been an incomplete download if your internet cut off midway through it.

Take a screenshot of your folder, it would likely be.
C:/Users/Ghost_Of_Opposite_Over_Hypotenuse/Desktop/Escapist Demo/Graphics/System folder. You're apparently missing window.png

If you are, there should be a mirror for it somewhere.

Save that image in your folder.

Okay, the image I put up there, save that in your Escapist Demo folder.

Once that's done it should look something like this:

Now select the window picture, and Cut it. Then open the Graphics folder, then the System folder. Something like this should show up:

From there, simply Paste the window.png there, and try running the game then. If that fixes it, cool, if not, lemme know what's still going wrong.

I don't know about a plot or anything but...

Yahtzee needs to be an Easter Egg. When you find him in the game he starts of an a long rampage insulting you, your family, and even the game itself.

Come to think of it if you sent Yahtzee the game he would probably start insulting you and your game anyway.
