Disclaimer:
I know NOTHING of the bureaucracy behind nation-wide politics, so I might be talking crazy-talk here, but let me say the below.
End Disclaimer.

I have an issue with the four last words in the final sentence.
Politics is about finding out what the majority thinks about , not to make sure everyone is happy. I might be naive here, and I might open up a can of worms with my statement, but politics used to be:

"OK. THESE people wants THIS to happen. THESE people do NOT want THIS to happen. The people who want it to happen outnumber the people who do not want it. Thus, this will happen (this=)."

These days though, I get the impression that politics has become "We would like to do this, but we wanna be sure people are OK with this. We're cool, ja? Don't wanna offend anyone".

Any one else who might think the same way I do? Also, I don't support either styles of government. I'm a capitalist, with VERY strong socialist coloring. And, to make it obvious... I'm swedish. I think I have *some* idea how a country that can focus on taking care of the people that are genuinely welcome here.

If anyone disagrees, please, point it out.
While I admire your idealism, politics has never been like your example. In America, for example, we have the myth that the founding fathers all agreed with each other and got along smashingly and that the colonies just hung on their every word. In reality, most of the founding fathers despised one another and getting the basics of the Constitution penned down was like herding cats.

Politics is never and has never been about pleasing the majority; rather, it is about pleasing your constituents. Since the dawn of time it has been like this for one main reason: the masses are generally stupid and don't know what they want.

On topic though, Obama may have socialist leanings. Hell, he may be a full blown Marxist. It doesn't matter though because compared to the Bush administration, he is about as authoritative as a house plant. The fact is that free range capitalism, much like the mythological "true" communism, is not a viable philosophy that will last forever. By definition, a capitalistic society needs unimpeded exponential growth, something that Reagan was determined to bring a halt to. Even his VP and successor, George HW Bush, called him a crackpot and considered Reaganomics to be "voodoo economics". But I digress...

As for the notion that Obama is bullying and effectively leading corporations to bankruptcy with taxes and regulation, consider the following: In 2009 GE brought in $10.3B in pretax profit and paid no taxes. Exxon brough in $45.2B in pretax profit and not a cent went to the IRS. Now let me ask you this: How much did YOU pay in federal and state income taxes last year? Odds are that it was more than Exxon and GE combined.

The only difference between Fascist and Communist is: Fascist is to the left and Communist is to the far left. Yes Obama is a fascist. He is also narcissist just like Hitler and other two bit dictator.

The best and simplest way to lower health care cost is competitions, less taxes, and less government regulation. A socialist health care system increase the cost and does nothing to help those that actually needs health care. Socialist health care only benefits the leeches, ie non-military government workers.

Yeah, he's a definite communazi.

OT: I don't really think he's the only one who flip flops between communist and fascist policies mainly because almost every politician here does that. It's really more about power than any kind of coherency or accountability. It's fail but no one really seems to stop it, so, oh well.

(and, yes, I know it's in Spanish, for some reason I can't find it in English)

Obama seems to be whatever people want him to be at the particular place in time. He must be some sort of advanced shape-shifter being able to be Hitler and Stalin at the same time. Adolf Stalin ?

One could argue that it is fascist to order corporations around through federal directives.
No one couldnt, one would find (upon doing ones research) that corporations LOVE fascism.

EDIT: And, in fact, America was nearly turned into a fascist state by a bunch of corporation heads including George W. Bush's grandfather.

And here I'll just say that you should actually look up the meaning of "socialist" as well as the effects that state-controlled healthcare has actually had.[/quote]

I think you need to hit the book more instead of playing video games.

For those that want to learn. The difference between the left and right is property rights. The more you favor property rights the more you are toward the right. The more you favor government control the more you are toward the left.

The left gravitate toward dictatorship because it favor government control of everything. You cannot have a dictator if you there isn't any government control. How can you be a dictator when everybody call you a dumbass? Corporations, individual properties, less regulation, etc are natural enemies of tyranny.

Hitler is a fascist right? NAZI are fascist right? We can all agree on it, right? What does NAZI stands for? National Socialist German Workers? Party. NAZI were left leaning socialist. They nationalized industries and everything in order to control every person life. Hitler was a liberal. He wrote his book in prison saying capitalism is evil. His book also say that government should control everything for the benefits of the German people.

As much as the left wanted too, they can't change history or the person that wrote a book on what he believe in.

PS Please lets not start something here the only thing I want here is my question answered (or corrected)

Also, here's few other things to consider about this guy:

1. Why has Obama not sent FEMA or foreign vessels to help with the spill, yet he's going back to cap and trade and green energy talks?

2. Why did he suggest that there be a "civilian national security force" that answers only to him?

3. Why has he brought in all these czars, who by their very definition, are not constitutionally elected, and therefore, not able to make policy decisions?

4. Why did he fire General McCrystal because of an article published in Rolling Stone Magazine, and because of "insubordination" when that means disobeying orders?

5. Why has he continued to pass bills and legislation without letting us speak about them?

I think Michael Savage put it best: "Most people don't realize that we have a baby dictator in power right now. You say that's crazy? I say you're crazy."

I agree, %100. This is in no way a race issue, but if people are defending him because they think it's that, it shows that they truly cannot think outside racial lines. And I pity people who think that way.
This is what I was referring to both Pro and Con

Its pathetic. People throw around those words because they have a derogatory meaning within the USA, and so labeling someone with such phrases is the equivalent of a political insult. People who use such terms for this purpose are, in my mind, completely ignorant and obnoxious.

Ok now I live in Canada and I have heard some of my US friends and other people in the US that I don't really know(online game stuff)say that Obama is a Fascist and a Communist. But what I don't understand is that isn't fascism one extreme of the political scale and communism the other? So what I am trying to say is what do they really mean? Or are they just saying random ignorant things? (Also I don't have a super understanding of politics this is just something I have been trying to figure out so please correct me if I am wrong)

PS Please lets not start something here the only thing I want here is my question answered (or corrected)
Your pretty much right on the money. Fascism and Communism are two very different things, and Obama adheres to neither of them. People who call him that are just parroting nonsense spouted by his political oppenents who say those things because they know that most of the people who will vote for them don't know what those actually mean, but are afraid of them because "thats what the Nazis and Soviets were." "Nazi's and Soviets are bad, therefore Obama is bad." I'm willing to bet that most of your friends who say those things don't know even know what Fascists or Socialists believe, or even what Obama's actual proposed policies are.

i'm from USA... USAnian? and i do believe that obama is at the very lease, socialist, as he is constantly trying to be robin hood, (stealing from the rich, giving to the poor) but he is also trying to support corporations... he just doesn't want them to keep all their money.
For the record, would you please tell us your definition of socialism, and cite some specific acts where Obama has "stolen from the rich"? Taxes don't count, btw.

Actually, no it isn't, that was just an error I made that made it seem like it was me who said " He is also narcissist just like Hitler and other two bit dictator. " That was, in case you somehow missed it, a quote from you. It kinda looks like your responding to your own points in your last post.
What are you talking about. You misquoted me. "

I did not said
"Oh right, so THATS what you think makes fascism..."

I did said.
"He is also a narcissist just like Hitler and other two bit dictator."

Do you know what narcissism is?

Narcissism: A pattern of traits and behaviors which signify infatuation and obsession with one's self to the exclusion of all others and the egotistic and ruthless pursuit of one's gratification, dominance and ambition.

Most narcissists (75%) are men.

http://www.healthyplace.com/personality-disorders/malignant-self-love/narcissistic-personality-disorder-npd-definition/menu-id-1471/

Obama is a narcissist. Hitler was a narcissist. All you have to look is how Obama behave. Go do a google search on Obama and Narcissism. Better yet let me do it for you.

http://www.google.com/search?q=obama+narcissist&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial&client=firefox-a

Obama is a well know narcissist in the psychological community. Narcissism leaders tend to lead into fascism. That's their finial path.

BTW one of his latest narcissist move in the White House.

Obama Replaced Churchill Bust With Mag Cover of Him Walking on Water.

Neither... Obama is the best thing to happen to the Americans since the early 1900's - too bad most of them are too stupid to realise it and will probably vote him out at the next election!
Yeah, what great time that was. 90-hour work weeks for chump change, roving gangs in large cities, limited rights to civilians, polio...

If we're harkening back to that shit, we really are in trouble.
And why not... after the mess the last few presidents have made, you almost HAVE to go back that far! I mean seriously, people... you elected Bush TWICE?!?
Let's see, in 2000 we had a choice between a daddy's boy and a snake-oil salesman. And in 2004 we had a choice between cowboy dumbass and a big pussy. You really think either of those choices could lead to a decent outcome?
You're missing the point... the rubbish choices we're getting these days are a direct result of previous stupidities. It's like TV. Quality has gone down and reality shows are tops because people are stupid enough to watch them. Or newspapers. Actual, factual reporting is almost unheard of these days. Spoon-fed opinions and celebrity gossip seem to qualify as 'news' these days. Because that's what morons were buying.

The hole we're in today is a direct result of a long, downhill slide. Obama is the first real light we've seen in a while. And people are stupid enough to blame him for decisions taken by his predecessor. It'll be a real surprise if he survives into a second term... and a bigger surprise if the next president isn't some corporate yes-man.

No no, that's "communism" again.
No, that's Mussolini style fascism. Communist governments own the industries, fascist governments just direct them.
Yeah, that's the confusing thing. If you have read any of Mussolini's papers, you know that the two ideologies are two polar opposites. But they both lead to somewhat of the same circumstance. Yet they are opposite in the fact that communism (actually more socialism which is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT) is based on the people of the nation as a whole, while fascism is based on the state. Boiled down, communism is an extremely autocratic and totalitarian version of socialism, which changes it completely, while fascism is just an oligarchy wrapped up in nationalism.
Socialism and fasicsm are extremely close in practice even if they are different in purpose. Mussolini was originally a socialist and wrote for a socialist newspaper, he evntually tweaked his form of socialism into fascism while keeping many of the original socialist ideas like economic control. The only real difference is that rather than directly control the economy, fascists just order it with directives.
You're right.

As a rule of thumb. Any systems that disregard property rights is toward the left. Both Socialism and Fascism do not respect property rights. Both system advocated government control on everything.

Remember: You're toward the right if you believe in property rights. Left you don't.

The extreme right is Libertarianism (absolute property rights).
The extreme left is Anarchist (no such thing as property rights).
