If people ignore this vocal minority of the PC community they will eventually grow up or go away one or the other. They are no more than trolls or idiots you encounter on the internet so don't give them attention and they will disappear.

Im a PC elitist, but not a whiney ***** like those on that facebook page. when i complain i at least have a valid reason or 2

Consoles were designed for platform games, top down shooters and such in the beginning. more the brainless-fun-kind machine. I enjoyed that when i was young.
Where though PC gaming turned out become much more divers and complex soon after it started. FPS, RPG, RTS, MMO, adventures, flight/space sims, etc

To each his own.

What i do HATE however, is all that crap that is now spilling from consoles into the PC gaming arena:
match-making shit in CoD2, AvP, etc came from consoles. Dedicated servers will always be better, but they force that crap on you these days. (case of AvP, still adding it, should have been there from the start) it will only get worse!
crappy ports anybody remember the first Halo on PC? they had to add a fuckload of enemies to even make it a chalenge. After playing that crap i cant see why console fans where so hyped about that piece of crap game, we had that gameplay for years on the PC allready when the console version came out a year before. after that it came only worse.
tied-in network software like Steam and soon-to-be blizzards shitty crap i bet. If i buy a game i dont want some 2nd program running in the background and giving me all kind of 'community/store' crap. If i wanted that i would be on XBL or PSN. I'll rather use my software of choice for chatting and such, not the shit you force on me by bundeling that with my games.

Developers whine about piracy on the PC and see it as a reason to give PC-gamers shallow gameplay, crappy ports and all kind of other crap we do not ask for.

Yeah, i am a PC gamer, and PC kicks every console ass. but i dont have a problem with consoles, i collect old consoles as a hobby. PCs are hard, they break down and require you to actually know what you are doing to get them working again, and cost significantly more than consoles.

but they are better, have higher quality games, and are more satisfying and useful than consoles. and as much as i will never be a console gamer, i understand that many people dont want the complexity or involvement that goes with PC games, they dont want an experience, they want to chuck in a "next gen" shooter and mindlessly shoot things for an hour. hey, horses for courses, just cos i enjoy playing PC games doesn't mean you will, i also read Yaoi and you probably dont!
"PC kicks every console ass" Yes but only when it comes to hardware, software, ability to mod, better control scheme for FPS/RTS and so forth. Otherwise they are pretty much the same.

"but they are better, have higher quality games, and are more satisfying and useful than consoles." I have to disagree on that one. Every platform has quality games and are all different to actually compare. What makes games on the PC better than console games?
When it comes to Multiplatform release then I agree with you, whenever a games get realeased to all platforms I always pick the one for PC.

Otherwise, each to it's own I guess. I'm a PC gamer aswell as a console gamer. I got a monster PC, Wii, PS2 and PS3 which allows me to have access to almost every game that gets released.

But I really don't like people who thinks they are better than everyone else.

Consoles = Social Gaming
PC, (unless Lan Cafe) = Solitary gaming, (from my perspective online multi play is 'solitary')
Besides, consoles have yet to crack into proper strategy... so they lose me there.....

I'm probably repeating what has been said a lot over these pages, but I think that PC gamers almost have a right to be elitist as they can customise their "consoles" so they can have something to brag about and show off. It's almost inevitable that this would have this sort of effect on someone.

I still to this day think that the standard of skill is much higher on PC as the level of input we have is much than that of a controller with limited buttons.

We're like the Gooks in 'Nam, man, they don't stand a chance, they don't have the tools man, we have camouflage. We're never seeeeen, maaaan. Like this text here, man. Never seen.
Never assume that people don't happen to highlight all text that they read intermittently. Interesting quirk of mine.

Another thing to not assume - that the Escapist white text is the same colour as the post background.
When it's your ass on the line, man, you'll be glad for that one second delay! By the time you highlighted that text I could have blown you away, man.

Keep your eyes open, man.

Also, we're elitist because console games are so simple.
I can play FUEL (a console game) on my PC one handed. And pretty much always do.

Seen my bro "playing" what looked like counter strike but the people were rigid and gliding along 45 degree floors then dying for about 4 hours ... wheres the fun?

Just over and over again, no story or objective and there were loads of them, it was like watching a comedy that everybody is raving about and your sat wondering were the jokes are.

That video of people jumping with the aid of nades and rockets, makes me sigh and the flying one isn't that exciting, and I bet after a few mins you would stop.

people complain about grinding in wow or repetitiveness in games, atleast you get something at the end of it ... these "games" are like watching static on a tv, repetitive.
Ahhhh you don't get surf!
You should have said.
It's a skill to learn.
It's more the fact you have to outsurf your opponent to get to the better weapon to kill him easier.
And then there are different types for just surf-skills, and surf deathmatch.

You really just need to play it and you get the adrenaline rush of keeping yourself under control while shooting at the people surfing beside you.

You can't watch these kind of games without playing them first. You'll just sit there going "what is this, looks boring".

(people were rigid? what?)

Anyway, surf being awesome in general wasn't my point. You can't have control like that on a console, and you can't play custom content like that on a console.
I know some truly useless information but I don't have any useless skills and surf seems like a truly useless one.

It's just like lemmings but more simple.

By ridged I mean there is no animation in there arms, legs or anything, like a cardboard cut out.

As for custom content, I don't care and I pretty sure most (if not all) console only gamers don't care. While playing any console game I have never thought "I wish I could customize this in some way".

The custom stuff doesn't seem fun or that great, maybe if somebody fixed glitches that the devs wont then thats great, atleast some people can play it without the glitches but on the whole it's a big ol' MEH to me. I played morrowind (among other things) and never downloaded anything for it, I just don't see the point.

You might aswell brag about what car what you drive or job you work.

I can think of one way consoles can return fire: how many directions can a PC gamer run in? And how many speeds does he/she have?
Just as many as consoles. [http://mobbit.info/media/5/LogitechG18G13_2.jpg]
That is far from basic and you would be hard pressed to say that something like that makes the general PC gaming experience better, as it usually isn't involved.
Sorry, didn't realise that whole 'unparalleled flexibility' gets restricted depending on which argument the console people are making.

Not to mention we can also hook up gamepads with incredible ease.

We're only elitist because we're better. It's not our fault.

I hope you started writing an angry response to this blatant troll.
I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE!
He did what was right, damn You!

OT: It's a facebook group, victims of the tragic situation that by voicing their(nonsensical) opinion, they have lost the right to have one. Elitism is primarily for the close-minded.

4 360's??

Is that a precautionary measure in case of RROD?

I have:

360
Gamecube
PS2
PSP
SNES
...and my laptop!

Weird... It's funny because for the cost of an i7 processor I could probably get a 360...

But yes, as a predominantly PC based gamer, I am ashamed.
Hell, for the cost of an i7, you could build an up-to-date system around an AMD processor.
Woot, another person that realizes that AMD is the way to go.
We must band together and spread the word.
wait, you mean I'm not the only one?, and here I was thinking was alone... HUZZAH!

back on topic
that page seriously made me laugh, and feel a little ashamed at the same time. best thing you can do is ignore them. I guess it bugs me a little bit, though, that the elitists make the rest of us look bad

Nope :) 4 people wanting 360's! (we have a couple of PSP's and a DS Lite + DSi, we just really like games) We've only had one RROD and that was about a week ago on a console that is well over two years old... and it was only an Arcade one.

The world is full of elitists and they should really be locked away with each other so they can't ruin someone's day. I like to play games and have fun doing so with my mates, but get constantly bombarded by people like that, or just moronic people called Shouty McDumbFuck all the time, hence why to avoid this crap on Modern Warfare 2, I changed my XBOX Live account's privacy settings to friends only, screw you Infinity Ward - shittest idea you could probably have.

I used to be (when I was still in Primary School - that's 10 years old for you non-Brits) quite the PC Elitist, always stating the 'fact' that PC's were miles better, and maybe at the time they had most of the advantages over console games, but then I got a Playstation and later a PS2, and then an XBOX and then a 360, and finally a PS3. As time went on, for gaming at least, the sheer cost of computers and the advancement of console technology/lowering of prices made it much easier to go for console games.

I still love PC games though, no console game for me can beat some of the old classics such as Deus Ex, Unreal Tournament etc.
