This, however, just makes me ashamed of who I am. Any thoughts?
Well, for starters it's more hilarious if anything because it's so immature.

Secondly, how can you be ashamed of who you are? It's not as if they're your people or anything. It's not as if they belong to the same religion as you or have the same morals.

It is annoying that they give people with PCs only (such as myself) a bad name, but seriously, this is just too funny to take seriously.

Hmmm...

We may have found the cause of gaming elitism:

Lack of genital stature.

I go by a gamin heirarchy, Major consoles (kings), PC (knights), Minor consoles (merchnats and priests), and handhelds (peasants)

I know some truly useless information but I don't have any useless skills and surf seems like a truly useless one.

It's just like lemmings but more simple.

By ridged I mean there is no animation in there arms, legs or anything, like a cardboard cut out.

As for custom content, I don't care and I pretty sure most (if not all) console only gamers don't care. While playing any console game I have never thought "I wish I could customize this in some way".

The custom stuff doesn't seem fun or that great, maybe if somebody fixed glitches that the devs wont then thats great, atleast some people can play it without the glitches but on the whole it's a big ol' MEH to me. I played morrowind (among other things) and never downloaded anything for it, I just don't see the point.

You might aswell brag about what car what you drive or job you work.
What, you think that the skills that you acquire playing other games ARE useful? Useful how?

That's the beauty of the PC though, if you don't care for custom content you don't HAVE to go any where near it if you don't want to. But I'd rather have more choices than fewer. Don't forget that there are fan-made mods that have spawned some of the greatest gaming experiences ever.

Yeah, there's idiots elitists for every console. Pay them no mind. Besides, no one console can win for every genre. PC is definitely my preferred platform for FPS, RTS or RPG. But I just finished Enter The Matrix, a TPS, and I shudder to imagine trying to play it on PC. Racing games and arcade games also work much better with a console. I definitely pick PC over anything else, but that doesn't mean I ignore my other consoles...

Why not? If you don't like using a keyboard and mouse on a PC just plug in a controller/steering wheel/joystick etc. There isn't a single genre that the PC isn't capable of doing just as well, if not better, than a console purely because of its flexibility with the controls.

I'm a console gamer. Do I wish I had a PC gaming rig? Yes, but I'm under the firm impression that if I also owned a PS3 then I would have access to every platform, which would make me happy. I think gaming elitism stems from people who can't afford to own every platform, making up a reason to validate their purhcase.
True, where as those that can afford a good PC and a PS3 (I could also afford a 360 and Wii but wouldnt keep them even if gifted to me) are happy to just enjoy gaming ;)

Im pretty much a pc gamer too, or well.. I take "turns" between xbox360 and pc but im rly falling in the pc direction. While I dont have anything agains consoles.. I think this new hate of consoles amongst pc gamers is because games are being aimed to consoles atm, this shows particularry well in fps games like operation flashpoint, Wolfenstein and MW2.. All of those are sequels to old pc titles and theyr pc versions now are well... crappy "console ports" with no dedicated servers etc. And this atleast pisses me off quite a bit xD

Hmmm. Although I see your point, I think it may be cheating a bit by using the 360 controller to claim a win over the 360 It just seems... Unsportsmanlike. Still, an excellent point. Then again, can I plug PS3 controllers in? What if I wanna flail my arms around pretending to box? For now, the Wii is the only console that has me covered.

I think you might be onto something there, people who own them all tend to embrace them all, whilst seeing the pluses and minuses of all of them!

Yeah you can plug in the PS3 controller, it's not as simple as using a 360 one but you can do it nonetheless. You can connect the Wiimote too if you have a bluetooth receiver (See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asY_I8y6C0M ), admittedly it's a hack and it's only in the early stages, but the potential is there.

Console gamers just act like they're superior to hide themselves from the fact that their system isn't the number one platform anymore ever, as buget restricted gamers flock to the cheaper, more accessable, weaker, more restricted, more prone to coughing up blood and dying consoles that presents a welcoming face to its owner but then RRoD/YLoD/firmware fails wiping all of your saved data and killing itself much to the amusement of the PC crowd who are not beggars to any soulless console developer.

That and DRM is just proof that some developers hate pirates and are utterly stupid (see: Ubisoft, Spore) and want their rigs to suffer painful humiliation unless the rigs have access to the internet in which case they can just download a crack for their legitimately purchased game to get past it.
Fixed that for you.

I can do it too, and I'm far wittier (and better spoken) than you'll ever be.

Also my sex life is better and on average my penis is 23% wider, longer and induces more pleasure simply because I'm a PC Gamer.

Fact.
Oh that coy PC gamer wit just piered my soul and exposed me for the puddle of cynicism that i am.

I admit that post was a lot more biased then i wanted.
But damn i used one of this lot, but i desserted that front years ago due to financial implications and just found console gaming to be so wecoming with its winning smile filled with teeth of gold.

I considered defecting back a few years ago but was turned off by the more apparant fanboyism that comes close to them wanting to build a concentration camp for anyone who is good at platform games.

Hmmm. Ok, the PC has the potential to be a master of all trades... Still, it seems simpler to get a PS3 as well. I would get an Xbox, but I'm afraid it will die very quickly. I'm going to switch to the PC side for a moment here. Something the PC definitely has, is reliability. Plus, I can choose to upgrade at any time. Although a laptop does kill that slightly, it is portable. Aha. PC can not rival the convenience and portability of handhelds. They're much lighter, with a longer battery life or with batteries, so an exchangeable battery. I suppose the computer has the potential for touch screens, but I don't see it used. Maybe some day a game will be released for the tablet... Actually, that would be perfect for playing the DS emulators... But, getting off topic here. Your rebuttal?

Games with currency can teach a useful skill, simple maths.

Games with upgrade system in can teach you to wait for better things rather than buying the crap stuff.

Just two off the top of my head.

IF your going to stay away from the user made or mod content anyway then there is no beauty, so you can't really have that as an upside to pc gaming, it is to some but not all if you prefer.

There's not a lot I can say to be honest, portability and size will always be a weakness of PCs as long as they have hardware that needs a lot of cooling. The closest PCs can get to portability is something along the lines of the Alienware M11x or an Ion based netbook for older games (or emulating current handhelds) but they're not even close to being handheld.

I can't see touchscreens ever really taking off for PC gaming. I think it will be too much hastle to get everyone to change their displays. But your idea of having a DS emulator that uses one would be pretty damn sweet!

That's a bit tenuous don't think you think? And if you want to take it further you could say that surf improves your reflexes and manual dexterity, which are useful skills to have.

No, the beauty is choice and the ability to say "I don't like what the developer has done with this aspect of the game, so I will change it". With consoles if you don't like the way something is, that's just tough luck.

Take Morrowind, many people hated the cliff racers attacking you every 5 seconds so a mod was made to stop that. If you weren't bothered by them you don't download the mod. But on the xbox version you're stuck with them whether you like it or not. How is having that choice anything but a good thing?
