Yeah but PC elitists are the best kind.

If it's elitist to call BS when people say their controllers aim better than a mouse, or when they say they can pull better graphics when PC gamers pay more for that, then elitist I am.

It's really hard not being a PC elitist. It's just so damn easy.
I know right XD
We have modification, which is the MAIN advantage of the PC as a platform.

All Im going to say is that you dont get console fanboys who go around assume their chosen platform is better then others
Are you joking? There are more console fanboys in my opinion.

I can think of one way consoles can return fire: how many directions can a PC gamer run in? And how many speeds does he/she have?
What? Every direction?
We have more control over out movement more than you console people XD
Tell me a console controller can let you move like this:
(skip to the middle so it isn't going 2x speed)
Tell me a console controller can let you move with that speed, accuracy and agility.
It can't.
And you can't play mods like that (Counter Strike: Source; Surf)

Since I'm late to having a powerful gaming PC (I call it the TARDIS, it has an i7 processor, 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1TB HDD, a 1920x1080 HD monitor, plus 5.1 surround sound speakers), I haven't really been exposed to the elitism of others. Even if I was, I doubt I'd respect it. There's something so illogical about such arrogance.
My "BEAST" is better than your TARDIS XD
I have 12G DDR3 RAM, and 2x Sapphire HD5870's :D
ELITISM FTW!

Are really only possible on a PC with M&K (doubly so because the whole thing is a mod + custom made maps!)
not quite the same thing, but if you have played halo 3, you'll understand how hard this kind of thing is.
If thats the result of being a pc gamer thank god I am not one, I play a geeky amount of game time under my belt but thats a little too geeky for me.

The whole modding thing and making new skins is a bit much for me aswell, why bother? In a year or two nobody will be playing the game that much, those that are still there wont be using them, if anybody ever did.

The only reason I have the pc I have now is 'cos RTS games don't belong on consoles, I played C&C red alert on a console and it's damn hard.

consoles are also a damn site cheaper, you can't include the price of a tv in the price of a console 'cos nobody only has one tv in the whole house for games and no programmes are watched on it.

Either you buy a pre-built pc that has a mark up on it or you build one (which is cheaper) but you still have to get a mouse, keyboard, monitor and speakers which of course have to be gamer gear (cos your all so elite ... joke, honest!) the games are usually a bit cheaper but it's still way more expensive (unless you pirate).

If you want to play on a pc then go for it but it's not my cuppa tea.
No its not the result of being a pc gamer, its actually a 360 video, so quite the opposite
Also everyone who wants to get a job or education already has a pc with a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and internet connection.
Just like almost everyone has a tv, adding these costs seems kinda pointless. So there are cuts on both ends.
To be a pc gamer you need to buy extra ram and a graphicscard.
a video card that can run every current game costs less than 100 euros ( http://www.google.de/products/catalog?hl=de&safe=off&client=opera&hs=Kr7&rls=de&q=hd+4850&oq=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=3821659036265444463&ei=nlWUS6POLJDl-QaMidWaBg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CCAQ8wIwBQ#ps-sellers )
I dnt think theres to much difference in the price with any of them.
So Pc is the cheapest way to feel elite, because everyone still thinks that you need expensive hardware to run it. But since the hardware prices dropped so much in the last 3 years theres not much reason to pay the prices people used to pay for gaming pcs 5 years ago.
Of course any gamer can go the "elite" route and pay 1000$ for a big ass plasma tv http://www.nextag.com/Panasonic-TH-58PF12UK-Plasma-688145799/prices-html?nxtg=3af50a240520-36FFB3A86C556313
Or a gaming pc with 16gb of ram, 3.25 of which the operating system is capable of using (seriously i know a guy who did that :D )

still, very geeky.

I bet it took him ages to do so x amount of people can think "wow" for a few seconds.

I still think pc gamers are worst for this kind of thing though, only from my brother who is probably a member of that facebook group.

Personal choice matters for the majority of us, personally I'm not well off enough to spend the money I use to on PC gaming, and the idea of getting an experience on par with a console on my PC for more dosh then a console just rankles me, so I stick to my console on my huge flatscreen in my comfy chair.

As for pride in building and maintaining your own machine, well I was like that a decade ago, then I grew up and got a "dream" job doing that for a living, let me tell you after 5 years of building and fixing PCs the very very last thing I want do on my day off is tweak settings and OC things.

It seems to be when people talk about "PC Gamer Elitism" they are talking about FPS games, well frankly I don't care for FPS games like CoD, MW2, etc. I prefer my RPGs, RTS, etc. Dickheads exist in any large group of people, and should be shunned and / or shot at every opportunity

Seen my bro "playing" what looked like counter strike but the people were rigid and gliding along 45 degree floors then dying for about 4 hours ... wheres the fun?

Just over and over again, no story or objective and there were loads of them, it was like watching a comedy that everybody is raving about and your sat wondering were the jokes are.

That video of people jumping with the aid of nades and rockets, makes me sigh and the flying one isn't that exciting, and I bet after a few mins you would stop.

people complain about grinding in wow or repetitiveness in games, atleast you get something at the end of it ... these "games" are like watching static on a tv, repetitive.

the difference is, that console elitists are fanboys, and they think that their console is the best platform

pc elitists are arrogant, and think that they are better than the people who play other platforms

(above is generalisation as opposed to me trying to say this is the case with every single one obviously)

Ahhhh you don't get surf!
You should have said.
It's a skill to learn.
It's more the fact you have to outsurf your opponent to get to the better weapon to kill him easier.
And then there are different types for just surf-skills, and surf deathmatch.

You really just need to play it and you get the adrenaline rush of keeping yourself under control while shooting at the people surfing beside you.

You can't watch these kind of games without playing them first. You'll just sit there going "what is this, looks boring".

(people were rigid? what?)

Anyway, surf being awesome in general wasn't my point. You can't have control like that on a console, and you can't play custom content like that on a console.

Consoles (PS3, XBOX360, WII, etc) are made for noobs. It is for stupid retards who can't realize the beauty of enjoying games with complexity, depth and hardcore skilled gameplay. Playing FPS or RTS on console with a controller is retarded.

Next gen my ass. Say hello to Core i7, GTX300 and HD5000. Beat me with my G9 3200 DPI hardware accuracy or lick my feet. I would enjoy fragging the thumb controller noobs.

PC gamers eat console noobs for breakfast. In our world of PC gaming, you console noobs are...insignificant. Period.
Every single statement this person makes, especially the bolded ones, makes me cry that such a fool is giving my platform of choice such a bad name. Don't trust him, PC gamers are a nice folk, generally.
I do semi-agreed with them about the part about RTS games. Between the style of how they are played and the complexity of the controls, it seems way too complicated for consoles (unless it is something like Brutal Legend, which worked). On the other hand, I don't think sport/racing games belong on PC. Playing either of those with a keyboard just seems wrong. I do prefer PC gaming, but I also have 5 consoles, and 4 portables (counting my iTouch).

Just let them think they're superior. They have nothing else going for them.

I'm talking about the ELITISTS not the PC GAMERS! STOP QUOTING ME!
But why? It is so much fun

Elitism sucks. . . period, no matter who is doing it.
No one is any better or worse than anyone else, and every group has their members that the rest wish weren't members
Any other cliches I should throw in there? Just for good measure?
True love comes from within.

Also I would kick ass on a Street fighter Tourney with an Xbox Controller.

The PC is vastly superrior when it comes to browsing porn. I don't care what you say, no console is as good for a free online fap-session as the PC.

As for games, i get games on my PC/consoles dependant on genre, some genres i like betetr on PC and some on console.

But i assume we're talking bout porn when we're comparing right?

I only get annoyed by them when they say "Go play your stupid, dumbed-down, idiotic console while I enjoy my nice, PC for real gamers".

I play on a console for a couple reasons:

1. I like controllers better than keyboards (my opinion).
2. Cheaper
3. One console can play all games made for it. No worrying about system requirements.

Yeah, this pretty much illustrates my point, though, which was just to rebut to the idea that having an analogue stick instead of a keyboard for movement gives you better maneuverability in FPS games. If you look at both you can see with Halo 3 they can pretty much only do good tricks boosting off explosions, overall movement is very much slower, there's no fast finesse movement like strafe jumps, they can't get much of a run going because as soon as they hit the ground they pretty much stop dead, they don't get as much air, they don't have as many quick direction changes and so on. They are clearly very good but overall the PC runs are faster, longer and more fluid. A lot of this is due to the difference in games, of course, but then a lot of the difference between the games is due to the difference in controls.
