I thought you where talking about actual pitching tents sitting arounda fire drink beer camping, cause I love that!
As for game camping I think it's afine game stratagie. I usually like to mix it up a little, sitting in one place for awhile before heading off to the front lines with a shotgun. But I have no problem with either, if it get's the job done and thats what you or someone else wants to do who cares?

This. I just cant stand camping. I think its cheap as well. If you dont, thats your opnion, but I cant stand it. Camping annoys the hell out of me. Nothing makes me rage faster than getting killed by a camper, and I barely ever rage in the first place. Nothing against anyone who is a camper, Im not intending to insult you, its just something that really sets me off.imahobbit4062 said:
it depends on where you do it. if you are in a spot that has a huge overview of most of the battlefield so that whenever someone respawns you can kill them quickly and nobody gets to really do anything then i'll object to doing that, but if you are in a spot where other players are free to move around a bit (example: the bunkers or cliffs in afghan in MW2) then thats alright
My only problem is spawn camping. That shit has got to go. Other then that it can be kind of annoying but I don't think it's cheap.
I do a sort of semi-camping. I find a good spot, wait for an enemy to come and I kill him. I GTFO and find another spot overlooking my previous location. I proceed to kill anyone who comes to kill me in my original "camping" spot. Rinse and repeat as necessary.
It works especially well in objective game types where I am defending a location.

Depends on how advanced it is. If there are 5 players waiting outside my spawn area to kill me right away, then yes, it is a problem. Otherwise, I don't care.
Certain games have playstyles that call for camping. CS is one of them. The thing about campers in most games though is that your reactions as the 'rusher' are quicker than the camper.
Camping is fine Spawn Camping is where I have the problem now this is noobish and deserves banning as it is a horribly unfair tactic.
It's just like zone/man defense in basketball... the people who ***** about camping (NOT SPAWN CAMPING mind you) sound just like the guys on the pickup court who get pissed because they can't take the ball to the hole against a zone and have to take and make jump-shots! We're not samurai, we don't have to step out into the middle of the battlefield to get shot at, if you don't like it, YOU quit playing. Besides, I have more fun going up against more intelligent and crafty opponents anyway!
If players do not use tactics that assist their abilities and that of their team, why waste time playing the game?
One more thing: Camping is a very effective tactic when dealing with other snipers/campers.

Its a ***** move pretty much. Just shows you are afraid to go out looking for your enemy. Anyways I end up with more kills and less deaths than campers.
Camping is amazing, but it's not for everyone.
I really like being outdoors in the elements, the colours, the smells and just the freshness of being outside the city.
There are tons of nobs that go camping and they always taint the experience. Camping isn't just for drinking and being an idiot it is for hanging out with friends, exploring, checking stuff out AND drinking and being an idiot.
