Maybe not, but I'll always take their word over yours.

I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was in elementary school. It has been a struggle over the years to deal with it, especially with the issues that it causes to social interaction. I've managed to unitentionally piss many people off with my past behavior but I have gotten much better with social interaction. Still, it is a bit of a blessing and a curse. I'm just glad that I managed to land on the high-functioning range of the Autism Spectrum instead of the lower functioning end.

I have never been officially diagnosed, but I know a lot about it and I believe I have very mild Aspergers.

Dianosed with a mild case by a doctor a number of years ago... remember the day well as it was the exact moment of 9/11.. not that that is relevant.

I've found that aspergers itself differs greatly amongst the people who have it, making it a grey area to know if you have it. Truth remains that in order to say you have it you need a phycologist to actually look into it. It's a ***** sometimes, but on some natural basis, I can understand somethings it can take weeks for others to.

I am on the internet and I have no people skills.

So yes, I have it. I also totally own guns, I've killed a dude with a trident, and my girlfriend is a supermodel, not that I need her or anything because sex is totally lame.
I can't really tell if you're joking with us or at us.

I've been tested, and told that I have many of the traits, but I don't meet the criteria.

Coincidentally, I came across this video the other week.
QFt2aZvg3qE[/youtube]
It's slightly exaggerated, parody of people with Aspergers, I found it to be quite funny since it's a pretty accurate parody of 'teen drama' Tv shows too.

The problem with self diagnosis, as people often do, is that many of the symptoms/characteristics/criteria are particularly vague.

How do you determine if someone has a restricted and repetitive interest, or whether it's just a very passionate hobby?
How much does the physical clumsiness come into the criteria?
How much do the non-verbal communication skills need to be impaired?

I mean phsyically as a child, I wasn't clumsy, but I was never good at co-ordination. I couldn't kick a ball straight, or throw a ball properly, but I could play tennis.
After being told that I had trouble with recognising body language, I went to the library and borrowed books on body language, including those pickup artist books. After years of having trouble communicating, a simple tip of 'look into the person's eyes' ended up helping me quite a lot.

Lastly, I hope the OP edits his first post with the proper information.

No, Dyslexia is a learning disability that impairs a person's ability to read.

Asperger/Aspergers/Asperger's Syndrome/Disorder, is regarded as an Autism spectrum disorder.
Research has only speculated a causation which supports the likelihood that it is passed on genetically.

Yes,I have it. The first person who labels me as "One of those Aspergers Guys" note that you probably couldn't have guessed I had it unless I had told you, because not everyone has social issues. Ask any of the people on my friends list, i'm just quick to anger. My BUDDY Jacob has it too,but he never learnt to control his. He isn't unsocial,he's just rather pissy.

I.E. People with Aspergers are people who don't like to be fucked with about it.

Edit: To come across less pissy,OP was just wondering,I once went to a seminar for it. 2 chicks had it,and about 28 people were there. 26 guys.

Aspergers =/= dyslexia

Aspergers is actually a mild form of autism. The current DSM (Which is changing very soon as the next addition is coming soon) diagnoses asperger's and autism as two separate disorders, but the whole field of diagnosing disorders is moving in a direction that diagnoses the disorder on a continuum with aspergers at one end and severe autism on the other.

Ex:

Severity of Symptoms

Diagnosis

This is a very, very, general explanation of a complex debate with tons and tons of research behind it, but this as close an approximation I can make in a short forum post.

As a sidenote, I caution people from diagnosing themselves with a disorder with clinical diagnosis first. People have a tendency to attribute symptoms of a disorder with things in their life and instantly think that they have that disorder when in fact a clinician would disagree with their diagnosis.

Don't have it. Plenty of other mental issues regarding social interaction, but not Asperger's.

I do have it, it isn't as severe as other cases but it is still present. I also have ADHD and mild Austism.
It doesn't effect me in too many ways but it can make concentration a painful task and it's hard for me to do much repetative work without my mind drifting off.

You have Aspergers and mild Austism? That's impressive.

I'm not sure if I have it. Although I have a restricted, repetitive interest (video games), it could just as well be a passionate hobby. I don't usually make eye contact and have a terrible memory (if that's a symptom).

I don't see why someone would want Asperger's.
