i like console FPS'S simply because of the controller, every button is in reaching distance of a finger or your thumb, on a keyboard sometimes i have to stop walking just to change a grenade or jump, on a console that dosnt happen
I really don't like pc fps's. Point and click really just seems to defeat the purpose if you ask me. There is neither skill nor challenge in that, and it boils down to mouse and internet connection quality.

Troll thread must be locked.

I mean do we really need a poll to prove that FPS games are "best" on PC?

Console for President! Seriously though, I grew up from 0 onwards with consoles. The controls are really easy for me, and despite what PC fans are saying about them, they can still be accurate. Maybe PC controls are better, but they sure aren't for me. I can't work with a keyboard, I'm the laughing stock whenever I go round a friends house. Seriously, everyone says that the keyboard is better, but can someone explain how exactly? The WASD system really doesn't work when I use it, and I can't use the mouse and keyboard together, it seems way harder than on a console. (PS, I've donated about 14 hours of my life to learn to play games on a PC, and I still can't do it! Until I get a professional tutor, or a friend that gives a crap about helping me out, I give up!)

These days it's console for me, but I grew up playing everything on the PC. I prefer consoles, mainly because they're a little more easy to just sit down and play.

You know all the buttons on the controller do something, unlike a keyboard where half the time I don't learn every key's function.

Ergonomics wins the day for me. Consoles all the way.

Controller fitting nicely in your hand
VS
mouse and keyboard flat on a desk

Because they get clogged up with people saying: "consoles threads are bad".

Just ignore him.
Woodsey, you know how things work around here, no need for any snark. It's clearly stated in the rules of the forum that "vs" threads are looked down upon. The guy wasn't being an ass about it, he just stated it and left, though if I were him I would have added that it is in the terms we are expected to read before posting on the site.
It becomes tiresome with other people trying to enforce the rules, let the mods do it or just report it.

If not we end up with 10's of comments saying "we don't look kindly on so and so threads here". Those comments are more frequent than actual flaming/trolling.

Besides, it makes us sound like some sort of cult. Next we'll be telling him he needs to pull down his trousers whilst we spank him with a paddle before he can make his next post.

Mouse is more precise for Sniper Rifles and fine aiming, consoles and PCs are equally good at Big Guns gameplay.

Welcome to the escapist, we see a lot of these threads here. To assuage your curiosity, use the search bar.

As to the topic, consoles all the way.

I much prefer shooters on the PC, especially when it comes to multi player as the console pads are uber frustrating when people are jumping all over the show.

That said I find myself lumbered with shooters on my 360 due to most of my friends using it as their gaming platform of choice. So over time I've got a bit more used to the console pads in shooters but for me they can never compare to a mouse and keyboard.

From what I understand, a lot of people are voting consoles because of the various auto-aim mechanics they have, yes? So according to that logic console controls are better because the game is on auto-pilot? Riiiight...

By that logic a game would be better if you had to breathe manually and had seperate controls for each arm and leg [better not trip or drop that gun!]. Every FPS is automated to some extent or another.

I've become used to Console FPS's, but every now and then I keep thinking "Damn, I would be unstoppable in this game if I could play mouse/keyboard".

Usually, as long as it's not PS3 exclusive, and my PC can run the game decently, I'll pick shooters on pc rather than PS3.

So for example a very skilled fighter pilot would be someone trying to fly a plane with a wheel and the most skilled rally driver is the one that tries to control his car with a TV remote.

No matter that they'll probably end up sucking at it and everyone that uses intuitive controls for a specific situation and uses his INNATE or learned abilities to go with it will pwn them, but they're skilled because they do it the retarded way xD
I get the feeling that you're trying to compare a mouse and keyboard to the real controls, and a console controller to something far removed, yes? Because all guns come with WASD, a couple of mouse buttons and a scroll wheel?

HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU MANAGE TO AIM WITH THUMBSTICKS?!
The trick is very simple. You aim approximately with the right stick, then tweak the aim with a little left right/foward back movement on the left stick. With practice it's no slower than a mouse, but I'll stick with the mouse.

I'll keep my pc, when consoles stop considering 18player small map deathmatch the cutting edge we might have a future together. But not a moment before.
