...I'm sitting on a fitball right now... I often bounce to a rhythm while gaming. Can't game laying down anyway. Different strokes, I guess.

Also, it's sort of telling if you want to game long enough at a stretch to have sitting become uncomfortable. That response should let you know to take a break.

I'm sitting in a beat up old office chair and I don't feel uncomfortable in the slightest.

I laughed my ass off when I saw this thread, because for the past month, since I got a decent gaming laptop, I have been playing Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Counter Strike from the comfort of my bed.

Laptop on lap, pillows propping me up at about 120 degrees, mouse to the right on top of a hard surface (either a book or my clipboard/binder thing), and headphones plugged in. No problems whatsoever, SO much more comfortable than the couch.

Wait, what? Your options don't make sense. You leave no room for deviating opinions. You have to think of all different opinions when making a poll, not just your own. PC gaming isn't uncomfortable for everyone just because it's uncomfortable for you. I actually play PC games quite comfortably, although I do have a laptop. Thus I do not vote, since there is no valid option for my case.

The problem is in all likelihood that you just have a bag computer chair. If you get a nice office chair and adjust it correctly you shouldn't have any pain/discomfort from a couple hours of gaming.

It depends what kind of games you want to play. If you play some where a controller could be used - yeah I could prefer to lie in bed myself for such games.

If you find yourself really not wanting to sit on the PC and play games, then in all probability your position is uncomfortable or you are just not that entertained by the games that you play.

I present to you my chair;

What discomfort? It also leans back a fair amount, so I could sleep in it if I wanted to.

Let's face it, PC gaming is uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, there are many games I prefer on the PC to consoles, but I feel as though the only reason I don't play for longer periods of time is because I can only stand to sit in a chair for a little while, especially at night. It's not like my chair is uncomfortable either, I would just rather lay in bed and play games. Is getting what is usually favored as the "better" gaming experience worth sacrificing our comfort?
I don't find any discomfort at all, so.... yeah.

I dont have any discomfort while playing on a PC. Actually, I get discomfort if Im not sitting up in a chair. If im setting on a bed, and my back is just sloaching (which happens as sitting upright without back support gets painful itself, it gets uncomfortable.

Just do what I do, I have a recliner set up sideways in front of my computer... and it faces the TV on the other side of the room... best of both worlds :)

I actually play on my laptop with a trackpad. Some of my friends think I am weird but I just got so used to it that I struggle with a mouse.

My game-bunker (office) is great! My computer chair is wonderful and very comfortable. It's a big pleather officer manager type chair that rolls. I also have a firm but nice pillow to help my posture while I sit. I don't actually use a real desk either. I use a large kitchen table, and that leaves so much room for snack, beverage,bobble-heads, pens, notepads, etc. I also have an adjoining kitchen table right next to me (it forms an 'L' shape) that holds my printer, laptop (with wireless mouse and speakers), and record player. I also have room for a small stand in here, and I am soon going to find a small t.v. and bring one of my consoles in here as well.

I love my PC gaming life-style and game-bunker, even though I do have consoles. And when I play consoles, I just push the couch closer to the t.v, and sit (with my pillow!). I don't usually lay down and play games, on my stomach or back. I find the way the arms are positioned very uncomfortable (especially at the elbow). Unless I am in bed sick, and have my laptop and wireless mouse for company, but even then I use all the pillows to prop myself up, and technically, I am still sitting.

Either way, I think sitting is just as comfortable (but perhaps that's because I've been PC gaming for quite some time). If I lay down and play games, I feel like a lazy slug.

I don't know if I would consider it a sacrifice to sit in a computer chair. Maybe if I was morbidly obese and it became a strenuous exercise to remain seated upright.

Honestly, I'm uncomfortable trying to watch TV or even read when I'm lying down. It tweaks my neck and causes my eyes to strain. I prefer being seated. At least I can have a small snack, and drink some coffee while I game. As opposed to spilling it all over myself.
I think you just summed up everything I wanted to say.

What? PC gaming isn't uncomfortable. You must just have bad posture and/or bad furniture.

And besides, you could always get a controller to hook up to the computer through a USB port.
I tried that, but I used the XBox Play and Charge Kit to do it, and it didn't seem to work. Do I need an actual wired controller to play PC games with a controller?

EDIT: I prefer PC gaming, and I accidentally voted for the "I prefer consoles" choice! D,=
