I have nothing against japanese people nor their culture, what i do hate however are all the stupid white kids running around Thinking they are japanese people and they are a part of the culture because they dress like retards, use crazy amounts of hairspray and speak like they are some anime character.

Those, often called "Wapanese", really annoy the crap out of me.
i agree.

It's just far too insane to me...it's almost like a kind of parallel reality to western culture. I never want to go there. Not that I'm not accepting of other cultures, but Japan just really freaks me out.

Give it time. It won't seem weird at all, probably even by the end of our lifetimes.
.....you're saying that's a bad thing right?
Not at all. I just mean that the distribution platforms don't exist for pornographic games yet. When AO 18+ titles have their own version of STEAM to sell through, money will talk and games will go into development. Like any other pornography, digital distribution is the future - a future it will share with interactive titles as they become a more viable investment to develop.

There's less puritanical taboo surrounding sex and porn in Japan, so they don't need that kind of distribution infrastructure. They're not exactly 'ahead of the curve', but they're able to do now what we will be in time.
Wow

Seriously? You think having porn games is a good thing?

Japanese culture is fantastic. Technology that is nearly 20 years ahead of ours, a set of ethics, morals, and respect, anime, manga? SUPER HIGH TECH TOILETS!

I totally love how the West generalizes Japan with the rest of Eastern culture when the country is more pro-West than East anyways, but screw that. I don't like most of the stuff they have done because I'm still made at them for not admitting they were wrong with their views upon WWII. It's kind of sad to realize that most of the population doesn't even know what the hell their own country did in the past... Okay enough ranting. Anyways I think the Japanese can have their own culture and people should really stop complaining about it because quite frankly, other nations have hated us for eating stuff like pigs(pork) and cows(steak) but nobody gives a crap. The US and other Western countries have this feeling of "We're always the right ones no matter what" and they use that specific feeling as a warrant for their claims about how other countries are horrible.

I lived there as a younger child for a few years ( father's business had us all over) But I consider it a second home next to Skye... It was enough of an impact on me that in my later years it led to me becoming a soto zen- layperson...and I play with the idea that when I retire, and my kids are grown and out on their own, I may return and become a full blown monk, then receive transmission, and return here to the States, and open my own Zendo.
I am a " western" Mangaka ( at least on the starting side, not a huge one yet) Now I admit I get a little irked at the " trend" followers, who touch on the basic " pop culture" side of japan, and touch SLIGHTLY on the real heart of the culture with a over exuberant obsession...like it's a novelty...that is sometimes seen as an insult...however those who really look deep into the culture at it's core, and strive to truly learn, and understand..those individuals are respected, but it's stressed to never loose site of your own culture as well.

that's my spin at least, I gave a summery more or less, And will go into a better detail if needed.

actually that's a misnomer. Japans anti-child porn law is a mirror off the UN law. like most nations, nobody under 18 can be filmed touching, or in the act of sex, or doing anything that " simulates" a sexual act" or viewed in anyway that is suggestive.

however we all know about the loli hentai, and the jr. idols.. yes 9, 10 year olds in very very very thin bikini's posing...

with the idols, Japans stance is awkward. while they have gone to great lengths to weed out those that cross the line, the industry itself walks in a grey zone that the government is often debating tightening up, but as it is they don't " technically" break any laws ( granted they meet the restrictions set by the U.N child protection acts.) thought over the last few years there has been many strides to toughen those laws.

Economically, without a doubt. Morally, I don't think it would rip the fabric of society apart any more than, say, Manhunt or GTA hasn't. It can be a slippery slope to stand on, one that requires constant re-evaluation, but I am pretty staunchly opposed to censorship. I might not like what is depicted in porn games, but if someones just having a harmless wank with one hand and a controller in the other, who am I to judge? Especially if that wank helps puts jobs out there for game studio staff and other industry professionals who might not mind slumming it a bit to keep the contracts coming.

My observations on the topic, "It will happen" is more an educated assumption I've arrived at from looking at trends (and porn), less a statement of desire and hopefulness. It's the neutrally colored viewpoint of someone whose attitude is very live and let live.

I hope this helps you understand the reasoning behind my point of view, which does tend to be a bit questionable, if stated without clarification (kinda like I just did) ;).
That is the mark of a truly decadent society.

I'll admit that the porn game industry is pretty big there (not saying that everyone there owns a porn game) but I'm really sure that the few rape games there don't sell well at all.

America is no better. Those wierd child beauty pagents where the 8 year olds are dolled up in full make up and clothed like little women is just creepy. A paedophiles wet dream. Let children be children.

As an adult in the UK Ive not had contact with the whole otaku culture thing. From a no where near thorough search it seems in Japan that the term otaku has negative connotations along the lines of a creepy loner who never leaves the house, like a rapist without the charm. Why would someone sign up to this? Excuse my ignorance, Im trying to learn.

Every culture/nation has cultural norms or interests that will seem odd from the outside. Look at the whole bull fighting thing, or Cheese rolling [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheese_rolling]. Im sure most Japanese citizens just want to earn a living and be happy with family and/or friends. Just like the rest of us.

japan doesn't piss me off, its the weeaboo faggots who play japan up as some superior culture.

they do have a pretty good post-rock scene, but that's the only thing that I really enjoy from japan, the occasional game maybe, but those are few and far between.

My low opinion of Japan is your punishment for supporting the nazis. I'll need another 40 years or so before I can forgive. Besides which, have you seen Japanese porn. A guy can take a dump on a woman and eat it, but you can't show normal marital penetration. What the hell is that?
Godwin ftw.

Besides, how much normal marital penetration do you see in any porn? Porn = fantasies. Porn =/= boring real life.

If they didn't sell well then why would they be made?

Also they used to wear bracelets made of the pubic hairs of their rape victims for good luck in battle. How twisted is that?
[CITATION NEEDED]

Besides, we can spend all day dredging up historical wrongdoings; that doesn't prove anything about the culture today. Slavery was once legal in the US, but does that mean we still think slavery is right? Of course not. (Or at least most of us don't. There's always a few assholes though.) Also, as for displacing indigenous peoples and pillaging their land: *koff koff indians koff*
Need a cough drop?

Also how bout a game where Malcolm X comes back from the dead, volunteers as a Stormtrooper, and spreads his message of White people being evil across the stars!

Original enough?
...
Probly not.

Because they would definately get press which would boost sales.

I'm trying to find the number of copies sold for Rapelay, but can't find any website that has them.
