Okay, Evil Jak, sorry, for some reason, it wasnt letting me quote, but I guess you sorta called me out, so I shall issue a Rebuttal!!
"Four person parties are for the people who keep dying on three person parties because there isnt enough people to swarm their enemy and kick his head in like a football hooligan... and yes I am calling anyone who like four person parties over three person parties cowards and you cant argue against it because thats the only logical reason you see the difference! Also, what did FF7 do to the series? Make it graphically better? Better and new stories rather than getting freakin' crystals? Having a logical reason why people can train past the physical limit of every other thing on the planet? Tying in real world issues into the plot of the game? Yes I see you point these are all... wait, these are brilliant things that made the game the best in the series that everybody thinks it is! Oh, and FF7 didnt make every male "emo". Look at the characters Cloud - never said anything, Barret - angry big headed jerk but still pretty cool, Red XIII - The intelectual, Cid - The crazy mechanic, Cait Sith - a stuffed toy and finally Vincent - Yeah, maybe he is kinda depressed but he was bloody tortured and tested on, made into a monster, saw the love of his life stolen from him, betrayed by her too and shot in the head and he still doesnt talk about it and "how he cuts himself and wants to die" so he isnt an emo!"
First, let me say that I dont HATE FF7 to death, Im not so petty, I just merely chose from the list, and found a reason to voice my opinion. Its not a bad game, but it isnt the god of games people make it out to be, and it is not without its critical flaws. This is also entirely just banter, and not an attack against your personal character. *Ahem* Without further ado:
You, good sir, have probably never played a Final Fantasy earlier than 7, like say... SIX, for crying out loud, half your criticisms dont even apply to it. Six had Better defined characters by far, in addition to a better storyline. (Oh snap, he went there!) Oh, and also, maybe I prefer having four characters in a fight because I like USING those four! If you count the main character, my good man, you only have 2 free slots in games such as 7, 8, 10, 10-2, or 12. Maybe in FF7, I liked Red XIII, Barret, and Tifa, but tough luck for me, because I'll never be able to keep them in a formation with cloud. The whole Four character thing had nothing to do with difficulty, it was merely a desire for getting to use my favorite characters. Also, getting rid of any class system was also a fubar on their part. It tossed out a huge layer of the gameplay. Sephiroth was an extremely convoluted villain, with methods clear as mud (OH SNAP, WENT THERE TOO!) And as a closing part of my argument... 9's Graphics rocked everything else's socks off on the PS1. So there. GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR!
You have my rebuttal, my debate opponent!
