I dunno. Its really hard. Being an Eagle Scout and having my set of morals, I'd let them live.

It would suck. I wish I could tie up the loose ends in my life beforehand... But I would never want people to suffer in a fire when the other option is a gentle passing.

You're at the Escapist, where it's constant "they don't follow our mottos and should be punished," "death is bad! Never kill!", and "if I had to choose though, I'd kill the entire world before I even cut myself shaving." The hypocrisy of the situation is not lost on me.

As for the thread at hand, why would I kill ten people who've done me no wrong in such a horrid manner? Raised in a military family of defending the people, I'd gladly take the correct action of choice and sacrificing the one to save the many, plus the moral choice of others before self.

Good luck trying to get an accurate poll though, it seems all you'll get is "kill them, kill them all!"

Let´s play the imaginary game.

Let´s imagine you´ve been put in a room with a big glass panel separating you from ten strangers. You can see them through the glass. They look like your average middle-aged men. There is a speaker allowing you to hear what they say.


Let´s say that there were two buttons in this room.
One button results in the room the strangers are in getting lit on fire. Complete with them screaming in agony and you hearing every single second of it. But you come out okay. Noone will ever know or believe you if you tell them.

The other button will administer a lethal injection of let´s say...poison into your body. You won´t feel a thing, but you will die. The strangers however, will live on.

So. What matters most to you?

Me? Screw them, my own life is more important! Even though i´d feel like crap.

The best that can be done is first carefully consider the question asked, and second, ignore everyone who you suspect is not taking it seriously. Forums like these really aren't the best place to succeed in starting a serious discussion on something like this, though.

Considering that I would probably kill myself anyway if I had to live on knowing that I killed 10 innocent people, I'd just end myself right then.
