a good example was that this phenomenon does not make halt from nonhumans in fantasy games.
I found it idiotic when blizz changed the model of Wow's female troll from a , well female troll, to a blue human model with tiny tusks
Yeah but tbh that was pretty much nightmare fuel wasn't it.

it was a troll. They aren't supposed to look pretty. The new model doesnt even look like it might be the same species

The males are aesthetically okay to look at though. At least you don't want to scrape your eyes out with a spoon after you have seen them. It was awful. Nobody would have picked that as their avatar...ever. Trolls are already the lowest chosen race, that would have just made it worse.

you are way overreacting here. of course the alphamodel needed some polish , but the new one suck way more by making no sense at all.

Must I again mention the cast from Persona 3+4?
They all pretty much fit this. Well, the developed ones at least.

Out of all of them I think Nanako is the best one, she's a supporting character and yet probably the best developed child in gaming.

Yeah, Nanako is probably one of my favourite characters that I've ever seen.
Realising that she'd been taking into the TV world, and everything that came afterwards... fuck, that game was brutal.
To be honest, the only only bad things about the females in those games is that in Persona 3 the PC has an uncontrollable dick and will shag anything that has a slight crush on him in his age range.

hmm. Only one that comes to mind is that one bird from Heavy Rain.
But I can't actually remember what she was like.
I was stoned at the time see, watching someone else play.

The only one he really shagged was
Elizabeth and I suppose Aigis in a way...since "he was the first person to touch her there" :p
the rest it's just cutsey and implied...oh and don't forget that little girl...he didn't even put the moves on her and he still got a kiss oh the teacher XD.

Well, think about it with say, Yuko:
-In her bedroom
-"We have to be quiet"
-Fade to black
-You share a special moment

It may only be implied, but it's pretty damn heavily implied.
And that's why I said within his age range. Getting it on with the teacher and the little girl would be... creepy.

Jen from Primal (PS2)

I agree with the posts that have already mentioned Jade, Faith Connors, Aya Brea, April Ryan, and Lightning. They are relatively down-to-earth women with jobs and problems of their own before they get caught up in world-changing events. Their physical proportions are believable, and their clothing is generally reasonable--except for Lightning's shorts, but whatever.

Ninja'd already but hey...

April Ryan, Zoe Castillo and Jade. That is all really. It is safe to say they had character/ personality; i.e. not requiring heavy projection from the player.

Sure, Chell is not over-sexualized, but she also does not speak. I'm not sure about Alyx Vance, the overly caring "girl-next-door" who falls for a mute...just like that. The "girlfriend experience"; could that have been the purpose?

I read two pages of this and saw no Heather Mason

http://images.wikia.com/silent/images/9/95/Heather.PNG

IMO one of the most memorable realistic female characters out there.

There are also the Anti-princess Bioware characters Jack/Femshep(depending on choices)/Aveline/Morrigan/Femhawke(see shep)

I'm not sure if I understand the question. Are you looking for a female protagonist that feels real, or a character that looks real physically?

I see lots of female characters in video games that are believable to me, considering the setting they are presented in.

A few on top of my head:

Ashley - Mass Effect 1
Leliana - Dragon Age: Origins
Aveline - Dragon Age II
Kate McReary - GTA IV
April Ryan - The Longest Journey

I could go on and on, which is why I suspect that I missed your point.

Nah, the teacher would be epic. Did you play FES?
In FES there's the ending goodbye scene in which you actually go meet the teacher and she finally realized who you are, it's probably one of the funniest scenes in the entire series...and she almost asked you out without you doing almost anything :D

Yeah put me down for more April Ryan, Jade, Zoe Castillo and Ashley Williams. I can't stand the way ME2 went all Russ Meyer with the character models. It was unnecessary, and just blatant fanservice.

Jade from Beyond Good and Evil would be my vote
and even though she's silent, Chell from Portal
and Heather Mason, Silent Hill 3

Sarah Lyons from Fallout 3 and Rose of Sharon Cassidy from Fallout: New Vegas.

....and Lily.....though I don't know if you'd count her as a "Real woman". You're not very clear on the specifications. XD

Yeah, I saw that scene.
"Hello, Maya-san!"
But I don't think the PC is Kenji enough for that to be honest.
