The interface is wonky and evidently designed for consoles; it doesn't get along with a mouse very well, and sometime it doesn't even respond to a keyboard.

The graphics are pretty and better, but the races and their presets look ugly as hell. What is it you have against pretty people, Bethesda?

Also, the "professions" and crafting systems. Chopping wood is tapping the "use" button and waiting for a minute or so. I was hoping the blacksmithing would be an involved process, at least Dark Messiah of Might and Magic style where you have to melt the metal, cast it, hammer it, let it cool then attach whatever leather. I was disappointed immensely when it was just "have materials, select from dropdown menu".

Also, they removed spell-making! Why!? Why can't I make my own flamethrower spell that actually hurts more than piss past second level? The channeled spells like Sparks, Frostbite, etc. are probably some of the most useful damage spells in the game as far as mechanics go but their damage doesn't increase at all. It sucks!
Go into the settings and turn off the 360 Gamepad support or whatever. BIG improvement in FPS, UI, and mouse sensitivity.

As for spells...you get an upgraded version of those spells...at level 75 Destruction.

Magic is ridiculously overpowered until about level 20. Then it starts suffering HARD because Magic has a set damage that can only be increased to +50% maximum with perks. As you can imagine, since the game has level scaling...this doesn't end well.

Edit: Yet another reason why level scaling is stupid. Yes, I said it. STUPID.

So far, the main issue I've had playing it is that there is no breath meter. Otherwise, I wish there was a way to re-speck your specializations.

Question: Am I the only one who had a dragon attack a city that I just fast traveled to? Once I went to Whitehelm I believe and a dragon cam and attacked, landing on the on of the Blacksmith's house (the girl's), so several of the guards, and a few of the citizens, and me fought the dragon. Eventually, we killed it, but then the guards killed me since someone walked into my flame spell... It was still awesome regardless. Anyone figure out how to stop a fight with the guards?

I want more so badly, too bad I was only playing my brother's copy and am waiting until christmas before getting this game.
Whiterun or Windhelm? 'Cause Whitehelm isn't a place.
Whiterun I believe. I'm still getting used to these names...

These are just nitpicks in an otherwise amazing game...

All the dungeons I've been in are basically one-way trips, there is no getting lost. Also I've found like 3 torches the whole ~17 hours I've played, but it really doesn't matter because nights aren't that dark and dungeons all have torches and lanterns. Actually someone told me you can take some of the torches off the wall in dungeons, I'll have to try that. Anyway I eagerly await "Darker Nights" and "Brighter Torches" mods for Skyrim, just like in Oblivion.

The graphics aren't amazing, but there is SO MUCH STUFF everywhere there has to be a complexity/quality compromise somewhere.

Too many apples. Fresh-looking tomatoes in barrels inside abandoned prisons. Some barrels are searchable, some not. No rhyme or reason. None of the crates seem to be.

EDIT: Corrected the city name
If you sheath your weapon there's a chance the guards will stop attacking you, but they will still arrest you and charge you with a bounty.

I've had Dragons attack cities randomly, too, though. Actually, I've had THREE attack while I was putzing around in Winterhold.
"Sheathing your weapons" supposedly will have the guards sometimes stop attacking you.

I had a dragon attack Riverwood but I hadn't fast traveled, I had just went there on my horse. After I hopped of of the horse outside of town, a dragon came and I fought it in the city where it died in the center of the town in front of the trader's shop.

Well I'm not sure if this counts, but the bosses at the end of dungeons are a little easy for me. Then again, my destruction level is at 63 and I have arch-mage robes so maybe thats because I'm a mage. I'll have to try with a more melee oriented character to confirm or disprove this
Warrior-type characters are stupidly overpowered. Just saying.
I am running a shield/sword warrior playing on expert and some of these fights are insanely tough. I have no qualms about the difficulty in the game. But I turned difficulty to Expert while riding in the wagon to get my head chopped off at the beginning. You guys might try upping the difficulty.

EDIT: My experience in combat isn't so much combos as it is to make sure I keep moving. I hate being pinned in a confined location. My favorite combo to get out of pinnned in areas is (shield perk) power bash, slash, running power attack. Although, your first shout works too. (As does my inborn Nord power) I use the sideways power attack a lot to keep mobile around the enemies.

The massive amount of crashing. It's doing it like every 40 minutes recently.
Edit: Also, the dungeon "puzzles".
Puzzle meaning look at the underside of the claw you just picked up.

"You can climb to the top of any mountain"
...by which they mean you can walk around the mountain for thirty minutes trying to find the one arbitrary path that takes you to the top.

Also, what the fuck is up with the bears and saber tooth cats? I can go toe to toe with a blood dragon for ten minutes straight but a big cat can kill me in four hits?

Fuck the dragons; if Alduin wants to conquer Skyrim, he should just send in a couple hundred Sabertooth Cats

I had a dragon attack Riverwood a couple of times and right outside of Windhelm.

Also had a dragon attack when...

The Stormcloaks invaded Whiterun. It was pretty damn awesome.

Haven't had as many issues with crashing, as much as I've had with just fucking starting the game. Half the time, the game just goes to the title screen and no words like Continue, New Game, etc. appear. It's annoying.

For example, I think light armor looks like shit. Heavy armor gets all the cool artwork, and it's better than light armor in EVERY SINGLE WAY EXCEPT ONE TINY ONE(50% stamina regen).
There is another upside to light armor, its way easier to sneak in it. Not a huge thing, i'll admit, but it means there's not much point wearing heavy armor if you're playing a thief or assassin.

Yes. Twice. There are now two giant dragon skeletons in the entrance. Killed it by using my precious destruction skills and bow, no help from the guards.
Weird, I know. It happened before I went to the grey-beards.

The fact that you've having difficulty tells me one of three things. 1. You have no artifact swords yet, 2. You put no points into smithing, or 3. You put no points into enchantment.

If one (or all) of those things are true, you should feel terrible.

Edit: or 4. You didn't invest in two handed perks, or 5. You don't abuse Shield Bashing.

You also run faster in light armor. There is a perk in the heavy armor tree that lets you run fast in heavy armor too, though.

Pff. I watched two injured Cave Bears take on a full health Blood Dragon. The bears won with very little health lost. Then they came after me.

I died.

Edit: You can climb mountains by holding up while moving sideways and spamming the jump button.

WHERE ARE THE CROSSBOWS?

Really though. What happened to the variety in ranged weapons?

They're really dangerous because they POUNCE at you! You can barely move aside when they try to and they're really strong.
My response? Rune the crap out of them. Yeah. That and stealth bow attacks.

Real life turned out to be bullshit, man. I clocked in like 40 hours over the weekend, now I have to go back to classes, and study for two exams this week.... I just want to play Skyrim all the time.
That was so true... It's disturbing... We must be like, mentally connected or something...

My biggest complaint is that the game doesn't save enough when exploring the world (which goes for most Bethesda games) and I end up losing 20+ minutes of gameplay when I die.
.
That's why I mapped the auto save key for the third mouse key.

its amazing how people, when presented with one of the greatest games of the year, if not ever, still find little niggles to pig at and things to complain about. Yes, the dragons aren't quite as epic as promised, but its still fantastic dammit!!

The fact that Magic doesn't scale AT ALL and all of the ruins/dungeons are set up so that most of it is tiny little corridors where you can't stealth around enemies are not 'little niggles'.

Really? I wouldn't know, the "Game of the year" crashes to desktop constantly.

....Still waiting on that fix by the way Bethesda, I thought the $90 (Yes, Australians pay another $30 for AAA games for some ridiculous reason) I paid would at least get me a working game.

Lots.
Good game but seems to have lost a lot since Morrowind. While watching the streams I was constantly reminiscing about Two Worlds II and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

Looking forward to the Creation Kit and modders to fix things, like always.

So far I haven't found any major bullshit. Just the occasional glitch with the menu. The 'Radiant Story' was a bit hyped, but I can say that me and a friend are having different experiences with the side quest lines, specifically the companion line. The dynamic snow works for me, sometimes its a light snowfall, other times it is impossible to see, and sometimes even in snowy areas, there is no snowfall at all. I guess that's dynamic enough, just wished the textures were better.

There was nothing they promised that I feel they didn't really deliver on. I mean, they didn't promise to get rid of the weightless physics, and they didn't - I would have liked to see a change, but it's not bullshit that the same-old is there.

OH! The random dragon fights tend to be kind of weak. Only twice have I had a random dragon fight where the dragon felt like an actual threat and one of those times a Giant ran in and saved the day because the dragon iced one of his mammoths.

Fighting the dragons is bullshit, watching them fly around you for 5 minutes waiting for them to land is boring. After waiting for 7 minutes I said fuck it and went on my way, the dragon never bothered to even fight me it just flew around roaring.
seriously? You didn't think to shoot something at it? Shout at it?
My character does not have a bow and the shouts dont have that kind of range and i dont have the one that makes them land. I am talking about how i keep running into dragons that dont land, dont use their breath, they just fly around and roar and do NOTHING else.
