Farcry 2 definitely, huge, epic, awesome, beautiful. Seriously it's my favorite FPS, it's so flexible, huge in length and playing with fire is one of the funnest things ever.
I would hesitantly agree, but you have to be in a very specific mind-set to play it.

My vote would go for Crysis - the second is good, but I'd still say I preferred the first.

Bioshock, COD4, Timesplitters future perfect, Mirrors Edge?, Borderlands to an extent but it is better with multiple people and Condemned/FEAR if you like a horror

Unless you dislike crushingly difficult games, I would highly recommend the Serious Sam titles. They're pretty much the games that determine whether or not you are a masochistic FPS nut.

Doom 1 and 2. Wolfenstein 3d. Quake. Ghost Recon and rainbow six, altough best with split-screen co-op. I guess you could call Metroid Prime that. Duke Nukem 3d. Red Faction.

Bioshock. There you go.
He listed bioshock as a game he already played.

Hi everyone. How are you? Long time no see. Glad you're doing better.

Anyway :p

I really do not care about multiplayer. I like the solo experience in a FPS game, but nowadays it's mostly crap. (giving you a list of what i've already tried and loved) I've played Half Life, Portal, Fear, Halo, Call of duty, Battlefield bad company, Singularity, Bioshock, System shock, Deus Ex, Metro 2033, Stalker (did not really like it).

Can you guys suggest good solo fps? A requirement would be it's longer than 6 hours -_- I hate short campaigns (except if it's really good). Oh and it has to be on the PC, hopefully on steam.

Thanks!
You might want to look at bioshock 2.
Also, fallout 3 (game of the year), is great if you're into FPS-RPGs.
Crysis, the first one.
Borderlands.

I'm one of the few here who would wholeheartedly agree with this one. Far Cry 2, while really having no reason to be called "Far Cry" at all, was a very fun and very immersive game with one of the most amazingly atmospheric game-spaces I have ever had a chance to frolic around in. Be warned though: it is very repetitive, it suffers from rather lackluster AI who are extremely accurate while being extreme numbskulls, and the story sucks to say the least. If you can forgive those flaws however (and some here cannot), it's well worth the $10-$20 you can pick it up for these days.

Outside of that, there's Serious Sam: The First/Second Encounter, Half-Life 2/Episode 1/Episode 2, the Opposing Force expansion pack for the original Half-Life, Prey, No One Lives Forever and its sequel, and Rainbow Six: Vegas and its sequel.

Painkiller. Yahtzee plugged it, I bought it, I loved it; it's crazy fun, the original one is long enough (don't remember how long it took for me to finish the campaign, but there are some hidden stuffs that you can always go back and hunt for), and great fun. And there is multiplayer but no one is ever online.

Crysis 2 has one helluva SP, if I say so myself. Really can't comment on original, since my PC probably can't run it and it wasn't on console...but yea, for my PC can in fact run crysis 2, and I am glad that it can. SP took me about 12 hours, and I can easily see myself replaying it. And I know you said solo, but the MP really is pretty good, too. Think CoD4 with super powers.

For linear FPS, you can't go wrong with FEAR. The AI is terrific. FEAR 2 is decent, but the AI is just less interesting.

Also, Far Cry 2 is magnificent. :)

Well, if dated graphics aren't a problem I'd recommend Red Faction. The original Red Faction. Not the second one (which sucked) or any of the new open world ones.

Going off of things absent from your list I'd also suggest Doom 3, F.E.A.R. 1 and 2, the Serious Sam games and Painkiller.

Did you ever play the Deus Ex sequel? It pales in comparison to it's predecessor, but it's still a very solid game. Probably not my first pick, but it's likely you've played most major shooters already if this is your kind of thing.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas. They are very big, open games; with guns. And I've always loved the V.A.T.S program. You will be occupied for a lot longer then 6 hours. =))

Crysis 1 & 2. I haven't played them myself, but my husband has. And he seems to like them.

I know it's not available on Steam but apparently it's freeware now, or at least that's what it said when I downloaded it. But Area 51 was a really fun experience for me, at least 10 hours of gameplay, and voiced by Mulder himself XD
You sold me at 'voiced by Mulder'! Also, here's the download link, it's freeware.

I agree with you my friend, I never play multiplayer either.
Maybe Painkiller. It's hours of absolute hilarious violence, and I personally enjoyed every second of it.
