I have an unconfirmed report that Bethesda are trademarking the rights to the name 'Skyrim' Thus I have reason to believe that the next Elder Scrolls will take place in the North. I'll have to confirm with my sources so I'll try to keep you posted.
As for what I would like to see after my excessive play test, 600 hours of Oblivion.
1. More voice actors, firstly you don't need big names or dialogs boxes, get average joes off the street to do the lines. Think of it like this, one town person in a bar. What lines does he have to say?
"Hello there, names Bob. Your new here in Havenbrook so let me give you some friendly advice, don't go into the wilderness north of town. That's Goblin country"
Now using Oblivion speech machine lets say the only dialouge open is Goblin Country
"Oh yes, lots of Goblins out there. I heard the Watch Capitan Atheis Mastre is looking for a good man to exterminate them. Try talking to him, you'll find him walking around town I believe"
Now you end the conversation
"See you later then"
That's essiantly it, the only thing else to have the character say is
"Murder!" "Theif!" etc, etc. At most, a full paragraph of monologue.
2. Fast Travel:
I admit fast travel takes away from the game but if we look at this in the eyes of Yatzee "it's just a piece of English countryside, populated by wolves, and copy and pasted a hundred times". Now I believe if we put in the morrowind style of travel with silt striders, scrolls, and teleportation we can go anywhere except the remote places on the map.
3. Face makers.
Don't like the in game face building machine? Neither do I, so instead lets use the Xbox's picture taker thing and upload our own face to the game!
4. Better combat A.I
I: Firstly I really hate your allies firm grasp of military simplest tactic which is the death charge. Your soldiers charging against the worst the world has to throw at them and getting killed in the process. I think the ally AI, when confronted with a powerful adversity, hold back and let you attack first to when they start attacking.
II: I think all combatant NPC's should have a range attack and a meelee attack. So for the guards, bows/crossbows/javelins + Swords, Spears, Axes, etc. This will stop the player form sitting on a ledge or something and not being attacked.
III: AI combat position. The AI should use the terrain to their advantage. Take for example some imperial city guards. Say you are cutting a swath of death and you want to get into a restricted area. Well this is when the AI takes advantage of the terrain. They form a line or something with their weapons to hold you back. In addition range units will always try to get the higher ground.
