We need more moonsugar and skooma and other derivatives thereof
or have the ability to become a dealer.

You could become the guildmaster of the narcotics guild and you traffic drugs and slaves.

Now that would be freedom of choice!!

Also screw horses
I want some kind of dwarven ferrari, they were up to it.
What else are you gonna spend your hard earned drug money on?

jeez if they put that on a bluray, i think all that will fit in a game.
Blue-ray disks can hold over 400 Gb?

Because I'd be shocked if the entirety of Tamriel didn't take up that much space or more.

And bare in mind that no computer or console in existence, barring perhaps government super computers, will be able to play such a game.
aww :'(
....damn. maybe they can add a few places as expansions?

I'd like to see the law breaking system improved, i.e. no more guards having psychic ability to no where you are at all times once you've broken the law. The way guards work in Morrowind and Oblivion is retarded and frustrating.
YES! SECONDED! i'm sick of camping on a roof and catching a glimpse of like 10 guards running around like their codpieces are on fire. i step off the roof and they all rush. the worst times are in dungeons! has that ever happened to anyone? i'd be sneaking in a dungeon, and low and behold an IL trooper walks RIGHT up to me-- "STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!!" it's crap, especially when you're wearing the Gray Cowl!

I have an unconfirmed report that Bethesda are trademarking the rights to the name 'Skyrim' Thus I have reason to believe that the next Elder Scrolls will take place in the North. I'll have to confirm with my sources so I'll try to keep you posted.

As for what I would like to see after my excessive play test, 600 hours of Oblivion.

1. More voice actors, firstly you don't need big names or dialogs boxes, get average joes off the street to do the lines. Think of it like this, one town person in a bar. What lines does he have to say?

"Hello there, names Bob. Your new here in Havenbrook so let me give you some friendly advice, don't go into the wilderness north of town. That's Goblin country"

Now using Oblivion speech machine lets say the only dialouge open is Goblin Country

"Oh yes, lots of Goblins out there. I heard the Watch Capitan Atheis Mastre is looking for a good man to exterminate them. Try talking to him, you'll find him walking around town I believe"

Now you end the conversation

"See you later then"

That's essiantly it, the only thing else to have the character say is

"Murder!" "Theif!" etc, etc. At most, a full paragraph of monologue.

2. Fast Travel:
I admit fast travel takes away from the game but if we look at this in the eyes of Yatzee "it's just a piece of English countryside, populated by wolves, and copy and pasted a hundred times". Now I believe if we put in the morrowind style of travel with silt striders, scrolls, and teleportation we can go anywhere except the remote places on the map.

3. Face makers.
Don't like the in game face building machine? Neither do I, so instead lets use the Xbox's picture taker thing and upload our own face to the game!

4. Better combat A.I
I: Firstly I really hate your allies firm grasp of military simplest tactic which is the death charge. Your soldiers charging against the worst the world has to throw at them and getting killed in the process. I think the ally AI, when confronted with a powerful adversity, hold back and let you attack first to when they start attacking.

II: I think all combatant NPC's should have a range attack and a meelee attack. So for the guards, bows/crossbows/javelins + Swords, Spears, Axes, etc. This will stop the player form sitting on a ledge or something and not being attacked.

III: AI combat position. The AI should use the terrain to their advantage. Take for example some imperial city guards. Say you are cutting a swath of death and you want to get into a restricted area. Well this is when the AI takes advantage of the terrain. They form a line or something with their weapons to hold you back. In addition range units will always try to get the higher ground.

I would love for the next elder scrolls to have some degree of online multiplayer, like co-op questing or a battle arena between people.

Obviously a greater number of voice actors would be very handy, and maybe a few more different weapons or weapon materials would be nice. Or actually, even if they spread the level of each material out a bit, as it seemed I just flew straight past elven/glass/dwarven/dremora and barely got the chance to use them before everything I fought was either ebony or deadric.

Just mixing the good ideas from Morrowind and Oblivion would make an incredible game

Morrowind:
-Limited fast-travel via stilt-striders and boats

-Huge variety of weapons and weapon types

-Armor and Clothing can be worn simultaneously

-Realistic feeling landscape, Morrowind was made so well into a bleak, unforgiving landscape(especially around the Ashlands) that it actually makes you never want to be there, EVER. I give Bethesda huge props for making such an evocative landscape

-About (or over) a dozen separate guilds to become a member of, including the Great Houses, Legion, Imperial Cult, etc.

-Great storytelling

-Rich cultural aspects to Morrowind.

-Werewolves! And actual significant diseases!

Oblivion:
-stellar graphics with only minor errors (pop-up graphics) that I think were remedied in the PS3 version and PC patches

-Oblivion had a much easier to understand and easier to use quest system. Even though the arrow leading you was a little much, Just the ability to flip through your quests like some kind of quest rolodex was much better than having to sit and flip through pages and pages of obscure journal entries.

-the cleaned up interface of Oblivion made it much easier to actually play the game and understand what was going on.

-Horses made traveling the landscape much faster, but the fast-travel system made them obsolete. If you remove the instant fast-travel then the Horses would become a much larger part of the game.

-Player-skill based minigames. It made the speechcraft and lockpicking skills much easier to use, though difficulty should be based on your characters skill.

-A better alchemy system which allowed me to actually know what the heck I'm mixing and what effect it would achieve from the start.

So all in all I thought that Morrowind had all the depth and amazing storytelling in the world, but the execution was very confusing. If it or a similar game could be overhauled with many of Oblivion's cosmetic facets then truly would the greatest game ever be made, The Elder Scrolls 5.

P.S. I'd also like more explanation of the Elder Scrolls themselves.

Scale and variety. The world was big, but practically the same throughout, as was every ayleid ruin/fort/mine. Plus the whole 'epic' scale of the battles was a little off; it seemed a bit strange to have supposedly massive battles fought by about six soldiers. The interface and hotkeys were fine, because it made it so much easier for consoles, and there's always mods for different ones on the PC

well... having a newbie archercat and a slightly less newbie hammerin redguard has pointed out a few 'flaws' to put it mildly...

Where the hell are all em bandits getting glass and Daedric armor/weapons?

Why are lowbie creatures like rats 'n mubcrabs stupid enough to attack me when I've gained enough levels and skill to be badass incarnate?

Why can I just run into every Oblivion Gate, ignore the daedra, go for the Sigil Stone and watch the lot implode and get chucked outta the gate?

Why am I unable to decorate my house without using Telekinesis?

Why am I saviour of the world and still get no respect?

Why did the last dungeon/Ayleid ruin/Oblivion plane/abandoned mine look exactly like this one?

Why does every NPC appear pants-on-head retarded (I managed to find two imperial foresters attempting to kill eachother... most amusing to watch)

Why does my enchanted daedric bow with daedric arrows produce bunny farts rather then impressive ranged kills?

I do concur it all looks very nice, and mixing combat and magic now does work, but Morrowind on quite a few spots gets the higher marks. I can't help but feel that for everything shiny and new that's put in, something else got royally screwed over for innovation sake I guess...

For that matter, who the FUCK build weapons and armour out of glass? Sure it looks awesome, but glass? Glass that shatters and leaves nasty shards in your flesh? Boring as it is, I'd rather just have steel.

To people who whine about fast travel, just dont use it.

I want to see more immersive combat, not just hack and slash.

I'd like a less power-game leveling system. More precisely, I want the specific fan-made levelling system, "Galsiah's Character Development", or least something damn close. The levelling multipliers means it's always at the back of your mind what skills you should train so you can max out your attributes, whereas in GCD there is no character level, skills level up and attributes are determined based on skills. It just works better.

Better AI
A better physics engine.
maybe make it possible to walk more than 5 yards with out encountering a wolf?
indicate the random quest people so you don't end up with 1500 started quests.
I want dragons!
the ability to fly on some sort of steed.

EDIT also what the fuck was with not actually taking part in the big epic boss fight right at the end, I mean yeah it breaks the mould I guess but seriously.

Oh! I've thought of another. I don't want to be allowed to rest anywhere I want to anymore. In Oblivion, I had no reason to buy any of the houses in towns because I could rest right out in the street. In Morrowind, you had to find a house, stalk the owner, and murder him/her in cold blood to find a safe place to sleep and that was pretty awesome. Also, for some strange reason, I want to feel less like the chosen one. Being preordained to save the world is kind of overdone. That being said so is starting as a farmer. Is there really an acceptable middle ground?

I agree with the post above me, why start being a hero? Why not a simple man or women of fortune trying to make ends meet at the beginning, then they hit with the "Oh bugger, I think your important, now go find all these magical objects in order to fight the evil dude we are too pants on head retarded to fight". I think that might work for the best in the long run.

In addition the leveling system was too extreme. I think we should build ourselves to the higher levels, not just walk into a room and everyone is just like us. I want one cave to be a walk in the park while the next cave over the hill is swarming with deadra and the like.

I would like to see improvement on the horses. The animations should be better and look less like a merry-go-round horse. I think the horses in assassin's creed were a good example. Horseback fighting should definetly be included.
They shouldn't remove the fast travel because you don't even have to use it. Personally, i made a point of avoiding it the first time i was going somewhere new, but once you've already explored everywhere fast travel becomes a necessity.
They should keep the really mysterious stuff you see sometimes, like the mutilated body i found in a lake with a secret admirer letter. No quest came of it, but it made me wonder.
A good third person view should be included.
There should also be more imaginative spells, like ones that make thorns or spikes or something stick out of the ground.
There should be more unique or one-off items instead of most things falling into a particular brand of weapon.

do you not know that you can use the grab button to move stuff? you don't need the telekinesis spell. Also, i found those two foresters aswell! really random.
