"Yes, let's." Lily said to him. They entered the tower together, and the same monk that had greeted her yesterday had noticed her and bowed silently. She pointed upstairs while giving him a questioning look, wordlessly asking if it was alright to head up the stairs the the next floor. The monk smiled, nodded his head politely, and returned to his work. Lily gestured to Sid, and they proceeded up together.
Lily wandered aimlessly around the third floor, looking at the walls, the various battles going on, and the shaking pillar in the center. Sid followed her around, confused, expecting her to do something suddenly. Lily, however, kept the same face and pace while she meandered about the floor for 10 minutes. After that time had passed, Lily simply stopped. She hung her head and let out an exasperated sigh. Sid went to ask her what was wrong, but she turned and made her way to the next staircase before he could say anything.
Lily made her way up the staircase slowly, when suddenly, she felt a chill down her spine. She immediately halted, and the cold feeling lingered on her for a moment before beginning to spread. It was at that moment that she turned around to see a big, black, sphere floating in front of her, staring into her soul with comically large eyes. It had an oversized tongue hanging out of its mouth and was surrounded by a strange purple gas. There was no doubt about it, Lily had found what she was looking for.
"Ghastly!" she hissed, going up a step backwards while tossing Eevee's Pokeball out. The brown fox appeared out of the flash, calling out its name. Lily thought back to what Darrel had told her yesterday about his Ghastly, trying to invent a battle plan. She took a bit too long, however, and the Ghastly stuck out its tongue and went to Lick her Pokemon. Eevee, stuck on the stairs, hunkered down and waited for the attack.
Much to Eevee's suprise, however, the Ghastly's attack went right through it. Lily then gasped in realization that her Pokemon couldn't be harmed by her opponent. A smirk crept across her face, realizing that the battle was already hers. "Use Sand-Attack, Eevee!" she barked out.
The Eevee turned around, and whipped its bushy tail back and forth along the ground, throwing dust and dirt into the Ghastly's eyes. It howled in pain and tried to Lick Eevee again, still having no effect. This pattern continued for a few minutes, reducing Lily and Sid to gasping heaps on the stairs due to them laughing so hard at the Ghastly's ordeal.
Growing bored of the 'fight', Lily pulled out a Pokeball. She tossed it up in the air, then punched it straight at the Ghastly when it came to her chest level. The ball absorbed the Ghastly, then dropped to the stairs below. It wiggled back and forth three times before clicking.
"Alright! Ghastly's mine!" Lily cheered excitedly. "Now," she addressed Sid, "we're ready to head off to Ecruteak!"
