XD
I do this to my brother all the time. The sad part is he doesn't understand how it is remotely homosexual. The kicker is he's homophobic on top of it all......
some people, i swear.

Now, since this is a thread relating to manliness, I cannot possibly let it go without the manliness stamp of approval:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/90638-PS3-Men-Say-Games-Are-Better-Than-Sex

This article. The average age of a gamer is like, what, 28? It's hardly kids stuff.

Friend of mine once said that "real men dont play games, they get motor bikes and cruise around". To which the only reply can possibly be "so real men like to dress in leather, straddle and hold on to each other while a machine vibrates up their backside?" No response followed
Wrong, real men do wrestling. High school kind of wrestling.

Said person has either adopted a stupid personality for the equally stupid average listeners and/or has a tiny metaphorical penis, either way it has proven that it has the social skills of an undead newt.
I don't consider machoness to be a fault, but I would point out that more than a few video games feature manly pursuits (see every FPS ever.) If you can watch manly sports, then you can play manly video games.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

(meaning if he always brings up the fact he likes girls he's a total queermosexual for nerdy guys)

P.S. I'm a female and a gamer so sux to him.

Whelp, I usually just say that I'm gay and hate sports, so I couldn't really give a rodent's fecal matter about what the other person does. May not work for you though.

Or you could go with the whole "I'm secure enough with my masculinity that I don't have to rigidly leap onto every manly bandwagon I see in order to compensate." approach. Works for me too.

Telling them they're an ignorant twat? Then you try and logically beat them in an argument. I find it works very well... unless it is a girl, they'll just hate you for it.

And when was the last time they ripped apart hundreds of people, creatures and Gods and then had sexy time with Aphrodite? (GoW3)

I don't understand how sports is manly aswell, it usually involves men getting sweaty, grabbing other men, playing with balls, wearing tight-fitting clothes...

Ignore it? You can like videogames and girls. At the same time. Hell, you can like videogames and be a girl, so I don't see why 'no, I like girls instead' is a valid argument against gamers. Besides, I find it pretty interesting that anyone would need to reinforce their manliness so often.

I have never been in this position. Everybody that knows me and is my friend knows I game but if a person is truly your 'pal', he/they shouldn't make comments like that in the first place.

He's obviously insecure. People only talk like that when they're afraid of what people think of them. Real men do whatever it is that makes them happy and don't care what other people think.

Point out that running around and jumping on sweaty men looking for a ball is as gay as it gets.

Good Lord, I hate those adverts. And the beer.

OT: I don't really get much of this, seeing as how most of my male friends are gamers. Well, there is one who's into workouts and all that jazz, but we occasionally poke fun at him for it. So I guess I'm lucky in that respect. As for how I'd deal with it, I would go for the "Ignore" option. I don't think I've gotten quite that angry/indignant over a trivial matter for a while now, and I intend to keep it that way.
