"Is that the city with the big fiery building?" Hillary replied, pointing back over to the flaming sword, thinking based on them turning to her they could see her. "They don't always do that to their houses, right?"

"That's Palladein." one of the men replied. "Calibeth City is in the other direction."
"And that's not a house. That's the Temple of Calibeth that's on fire." the other stated.

"It is?" Hillary questioned, glancing over her shoulder back to the city. "I guess it is, sorry about that. Is Calibeth City a nice place, I haven't been there."

After a brief pause, Hillary quickly added to her conversation. "Wait, why is a Temple of Calibeth in Palla...Palla-dein?" She said with a short giggle. "That's kinda funny."

"It's quite nice. A lot of trees and plants grow there." one of the men replied. "There are temples to Calibeth in most major cities, Palladein included. They use it as a lighthouse to guide ships into port."

[color=9f2089]"Thank you very much for your time, we greatly appreciate the help."[/color] Cybil thanked the guard before walking back to her companions.

"Sounds like we oughta jus' go ta this Calibeth City place." Sibylla remarked to Hillary.

"Don't worry about it," the guards said, before returning to their patrol.

"Oh, okay. That makes much more sense." Hillary replied, understanding now that having a tower named after another city wasn't quite as weird as one would initially think. "How far is it up the river then? Your arms must get tired if you have to move the boat all that way."

"Ya, but we gotta wait for Timea to come back, she'd be waiting for us when she gets back." Hillary whispered to Sybilla.

"It's a few kilometres." the man replied. "A little. It helps that there's two of us."

Robin followed Cybil back to the others. "What do you think that sky-metal he was talking about is?" Robin asked her.

 

[Zepherus14]

"So what do you gotta move to Calibert, or... Why do you gotta move it when it's so dark out, don't you hit stuff if your not careful?"

[color=9f2089]"Probably just metal they salvage from meteorites. Though they must get an awful lot of meteorites landing on this planet if it's so ubiquitous."[/color] Cybil mused aloud to Robin. When she made her way back to the others, she reiterated what the guard had told her.

"Wonder how strong it is... It could be useful." Robin thought aloud.

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"This stuff is mostly fish. The shipment came in a little late today, so that's why we're transporting it at night." one of the men explained.
"We're very careful. And we know the river pretty well, so we don't hit stuff." the other replied. "Anyway, we should probably get moving. And you should, too. It can be dangerous out here at night."

Matilda listened to Cybil's explanation, then said, [color=006d5b]"Okay, so if nobody has glowing eyes or metal stuff on them when they do magic, we should be fine. We might want to come up with an explanation, for anything magical we can do, though."[/color]

"Okay, we will. Goodbye!" Hillary waved them off.

"They said something about miracles from gods. Perhaps we could find out about the pantheon, hide ourselves as priests they have similar abilities to us."

 

[Slenn]

In a fourth section she thought up, she would list the instructions for a do-it-yourself project to create a thermometer. It would be preceded by an explanation of thermal expansion of materials using examples such as wedding rings during the different seasons. She also listed some other uses for thermometers including diagnosing sickness and for cooking.

In an hour or so, she would be all done working on her notes.

 

[Silence]

Speedy said:
"I hope they don't think my jetpack is magic."

Anik's response to the explanations was derisive:
"Miracles, but no magic? What will be next? A god with a human heart?"

[color=9f2089]"Alright, let's go do that then."[/color] Cybil replied to Robin, seeing that no one else appeared to be in any hurry to do anything and that she would have to instigate pretty much everything. She went looking for a library.

"Guess we're jus' stuck waitin' here then."

Robin followed Cybil, eager to get to a place of learning. "How's this place been for you so far?" he asked her.
