"Optics and electromagnetism go hand in hand. That was no optical illusion, that was a legitimate change in temperature from the sun. Hot objects will glow. And what colors they glow can tell you exactly what temperature they are. You see, color and light are a part of electromagnetism."

"Prolly just some magic thingy changed the star." Topaz commented to EMily. "Booooring."

"Why, yes", Timea answered, raising a hand with the index finger extended. "To go on a tangent; The Kaisiri sea god spoke to me yesterday morning", she began to explain, pointing towards the charm when mentioning Kuvita. "He... she? ...It asked me a question, and I asked if it knew about the different world predicament. It didn't, sadly.

From your reaction, however, I take it the gods talking to people isn't all that common, after all?"

"...Book." Anik said. "How am I supposed to read a book?

Yeah, I would also be interested in them. Don't suppose they have the books in Braille (not that I could read it then, but at least I could learn to read it)."
Speedy headed back to the group, arriving one-and-a-half minutes later.
"Mook, O hoph o fmower." he said, with the flower in his mouth.

"Awwww, shucks, I sure do love being railed on by people with no manners or common sense." She had said without turning her head, projecting her voice. She then turned over to Topaz. "You got something bad to say about what I'm talking about, then shut up. Other people might be interested, which in this case there are." Lusterless wad of dirt.

Her face slightly lit up as Speedy came back.
"Ah! You found a flower. Is that for Robin's spell?" She asked him.

Homer nodded. To be perfectly honest, astrophysics was not his strong suit, but his background in technology helped him interested Emily somewhat.

Jane snickered at Emily's outburst, still finding it amusing how easy if it was too set her off.

"That would be nice, thanks" Anik replied to Robin.

"O don' knoff" Speedy said, then dropped the flower next to EMily. "The people in the village were trading these flowers. Maybe we could analyze it, see why it glows and what it's made of."

"Oh... right." the cat said, before looking up at Robin. "You should be able to read the book for her. Might help you learn my magic, too."

Jane would find that, in addition to being red and glowy, the flower had a quite sour scent. Its shape would be quite unfamiliar to her.

"I've never heard of it happening, outside of prophecies." the priestess stated. "And those tend to be very vague and confusing. The last known one described it as, and I quote, 'all the stars burning their holy words into my mind and tongue'. It took three months for it to be deciphered as a prophecy of Calibeth's return."

"I could take a look at it. We were just having an amazing conversation about glowing things." She cleared her throat. "Although I'm a physicist, I could try and dissect it."

"Yeah. This big dumb cloak isn't helping matters either, but nothing I can really do about that." Cybil replied to Robin, flapping her cloak a bit to get her point across. She accepted the waterskin from him with a "Thanks!" and took a drink from it.

Sibylla had taken to napping on one of the benches in the back a while ago, and continued to sleep.

Robin flicked through the book until he found the page, reading it out to Anik.

OoC: I can't remember what it was...

"Let me take a look first, princess." Jane said to Emily. She would they try to determine if the flower was wilting or rotting and causing the bad smell, and if the glowing was a natural phosphorescent quality, or some kind of magic.

Topaz just grinned as EMily got mad at him. His body briefly turned into a lump of yellow light as he shapeshifted, reforming into a near-perfect copy of EMily. The only difference was coloration and the gemstone on the wrist. "Yes, I have dedicated my life to glowing things." Topaz-EMily said mockingly. "I know FAR more than anyone else on the subject, so I will not tolerate any jokes or fun on the subject. It ruins my image."

Robin would describe the process of carving wavy lines into one's upper arms, to gain enhanced strength from Faotar.

Jane would determine that the flower was not wilting or rotting at all, and in fact looked perfectly fine. She would also find that the glowing was a natural quality.

Matilda burst out laughing at Topaz' imitation of EMily.

"Well then!" Timea exclaimed, though with a voice only slightly above normal speaking level. "I know I said I would only ask two more questions, but... I think this could end up being important. So, has there been any other prophecies like that?

I ask this, as when I was in Calibeth City a while ago, rumours were spread about the arrival of a new god amongst men, which lead the prince, of all people, to come out into the open to investigate. The claims were disproved quickly, but the fact that they were believed to begin with had me thinking. I've seen enough to know that a god coming to this world isn't something that happens on a daily basis, so you'd expect a claim like it would be met with a big helping of scepticism at best, yes?"

"I don't think you should do that." Homer says to Topaz, not liking his joke.

"Weird. Well, nobody try eating it. Might be poisonous." Jane said and scratched her head.

She punched a few buttons on the holographic display of Photon, and out came a seamless hologram of Topaz from its second barrel. Along came his actual voice from sound bites.
"I sure do enjoy being as dense as a rock. I never bothered to show respect to people talking, otherwise I'd just waste energy in lazing around and being BOOOOORRRRRRIIIING!"
