Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:43

With its windpipe constricted, its nostrils flared wider, and more irregularly, having trouble drawing in breaths. Still, it didn't stop, continuing to move. As it did, the caribou changed from jerking its head from side to side, to doing so up and down, although it jerked to the side every so often, as well.

By this point, Timea had fallen far enough behind that she wasn't able to catch up to the caribou on foot, any longer. Instead, she grew a pair of wings, and prepared to take flight.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:43

With the caribou jerking its head up and down, Anik nearly lost her grip, but as the movement of the animal slowed down, she was able to grip her hand with the other one, to clench the neck of it again. Still, this took a lot of effort, as her shoulder did not feel quite right.

After some 30 seconds more, the caribou finally lost consciousness, and started to fall over to the side. As a last reaction, Anik tried to let go of the neck and jump away, although as she did not know the ground, and her whole left side was injured, she tripped and fell. While not having something crushed between the ground and the body of the caribou, she lay next to the animals neck on her back, also falling unconscious for a short period of time.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:44

Taking flight, Timea stayed low to the ground. No longer being slowed down by the terrain, and being a faster flyer than she was a runner overall, Timea quickly started to gain on the caribou. Seeing Anik fall down and skid over the ground, Timea's eyes widened.

Picking up speed, she quickly reached Anik, landing close to her, and using the momentum she had coming out of the flight to close the remaining distance. Moving to Anik's side, Timea reverted back to her default form, the blanket still covered. Crouching down besides Anik, Timea lightly tapped Anik on the cheeck. "Anik?! Can you hear me?"

While asking this, Timea sniffed the air to check if Anik was bleeding.

Vala - Day 9 - 06:34

The tanner would find Cybil a set of armour, made from boiled leather, which would fit her reasonably comfortably. He would then tell her the cost, a few gold coins, for the armour.

[hr]

Robin would learn primarily that space- and time- altering sorcerers were considered to be relatively rare, though this was suspected to be due to them not realising their affinities, since they're more subtle than others. He would also find that they were fairly limited powers, with time-manipulators typically able to halt or rewind time for only a few seconds, or up to a minute at most. Their ability to manipulate the world in the frozen time they create was also quite limited, due to the concentration it would take for them to both move their bodies while keeping time stopped.
Space-manipulating sorcerers were mainly capable of moving objects, up to the size of, and including, their own body a few dozen metres instantly. The notes would specify that the manipulation is of space, not time. Therefore, the sorcerer would not affect anything between the start point and the end point, since they effectively ignore that space's existence. By contrast, a time-manipulating sorcerer would have an effect on the world between their starting point and their end point, if they moved positions while time was frozen.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:44

The light tap on the cheek was not enough to get Anik to wake up, but she showed some basic reflexes, being clearly still alive. Timea would be able to smell blood, first and foremost in the face, where Anik had shed some tears due to the strain while fighting the caribou, not realizing it herself. At the same time her shoulder smelled a little bit like blood, although nothing was visible due to it being covered by the coat. The belonging left arm and hand showed some cuts and bruises, as the antlers had ripped inside them. Luckily, none of it seemed deep enough to have caused serious harm. Her legs were quite dirty and had some scrapes to it, as they had been dragged along the ground a few times.

Noting Anik was in no real danger - mostly by smell - Timea blew a sigh of relief. She then moved to the caribou, opting to finish it off, so that it wouldn't come to and run off, making Anik's efforts in vain. She did so with her usual method of firing the entropy beam at it, sapping it off its energy. Already weak, it didn't take long for its heart to stop.

With this done, Timea looked back down to Anik, and went about unbuttoning the coat, occasionally casting a glance to Anik's face, to check how far along she was to coming to.

As Timea was unbuttoning the shirt, Anik first showed no reaction, but when her arm was moved a little bit, she let out a moan. Realizing where she was after a few seconds, she tried to jump up, but was stopped as soon as she tried to move the arm herself, letting out a cry of pain and lying on her back again, without moving.

Slowly, she asked: "Timea? ... Did we get it?"

Timea continued unbuttoning Anik's coat as Anik moaned, but stopped as she tried to jump up, and let out a scream, suspecting Anik suffered a dislocated shoulder, and/or torn muscles.

"We certainly did. You did an amazing job", she answered, softly. "But, you also took ever the beating. So just lay still while I examine you, okay?"

Taking Anik's coat off, being more gently around the wounded arm, Timea looked to the shoulder, looking to see if she could see any indication that the bone was damaged, looking for lumps to do so.

Anik smiled, but said nothing else, clenching her teeth when Timea took the coat off her wounded arm. Trying to lay still, she nevertheless felt the urge of placing her other hand on the wounded shoulder to ease the pain, but did not so, as Timea was probably busy examining it.

The collision with the caribou clearly had made quite the impact. Anik shoulder had a blueish color to it, heavily bruised. Adding to that, Timea would not see a clear indication of a broken bone, but a lump at the shoulder regardless, as the end of the shoulder was lower than the collarbone, which seemed to deviate slightly upwards.

Anik, not feeling to well about it, as the slightest movement of the arm hurt, asked, in a worried tone of voice, when Timea was quiet for a few seconds: "Does it look bad?"

"Well, it's nothing you won't be able to recover from. So that's good. Nothing seems to be broken, either, but I'm going to check, just to be sure", Timea relayed. "I'm going to feel along your arm to check for a fracture. This will probably hurt, so brace yourself."

After giving the warning, Timea placed her fingers on either side of Anik's arm, below the spot where it was bruised, and began slowly moving them downwards, applying a little pressure, to check if any part of the humerus was moving. She would do the examination as quickly as possibly without sacrificing efficiency, only stopping when done, or if Anik cried out in pain.

Anik sighed, hoping Timea was right, as she thought the amount of pain she was feeling was similar to what she had felt when she had broken a leg at some point in her life.

Luckily for Anik, no part of the humerus was moving independently from another, so Timea would be able to discern that indeed nothing was broken. When pressuring it in a way downwards, the outer part of the shoulder would however slightly give way, and slightly bounce back up, which led to Anik cry out in pain, which she would be able to suppress when Timea was just feeling the humerus.

Trying to distract herself from the pain, Anik asked several questions shortly after another: "Is the animal dead? I ... need to feel it. But ... do you think you can fix my arm? I doubt I can do much with it when it hurts this bad."

"I should be able to, yes. It doesn't seem too serious. Don't worry, you'll be able to get to your well-earned meal, before you know it", Timea said reassuringly, as she searched for a fracture. She wasn't sure the bone was broken at the time, but was confident enough in her healing power that she didn't consider it a massive issue, even if it was.

When finishing the examination, Timea pulled her hands away, saying, "okay. It's not broken, but the joint has come out of the socket. It will be fine once it's put back in there, but this is going to hurt." Having seen what to do with a dislocated arm, before, Timea knew how to correct it.

Sitting down, Timea took hold Anik's wrist, and places her foot under the armpit. "I'm going to start pulling on your arm, now, so the joints can slides back into place. Try not to tense your muscles, or it will make things harder", Timea explained. "Okay, on the count of three: One, two, three... ."

On three, Timea began pulling the arm towards her in a slow and steady motion. Expecting it to hurt Anik, she wouldn't stop until the shoulder joint popped back.

Vala - Day 9 - 6:34

If the tanner was alright with it, Cybil would try on the armor that was brought to her to make sure it fit. Either way, Cybil would pay the craftsman, thank them, and leave with the armor in her pack, not seeing any reason to just walk around town wearing it. Afterwards she would wander around town looking to kill a few hours, figuring immediately going back to the library would likely just result in waiting.

Trusting Timea, Anik clenched her teeth and waited for a short time of pain.

Unfortunately for Anik, her shoulder was not dislocated, having another injury instead. So when Timea started pulling, her joints did not slide back into place, instead moving differently. And Anik felt an even worse pain than before.
Loudly crying out in pain, she tried to tell Timea to stop as well, but was not able to. Instead, as a reflex, she brought up her other hand and tried to push Timea away, although this was not done with much force.

When Timea stopped, Anik panted heavily. She had new sweat all over her body, and some new blood tears ran down her cheek. Trying to find her breath again, she said: "This ... shouldn't hurt ... like this, right?"

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:46

While preforming her misinformed treatment, Timea initially didn't pay much attention to Anik's scream, but stopped what she was doing immediately as she saw the arm move in a way it shouldn't, if her diagnosis was correct. Still holding on to the arm, Timea looked down to Anik, looking more worried, the push not moving her, as she was sitting.

When Anik spoke, Timea was quiet for a moment, looking down to the bruised area. "... it shouldn't, no", she eventually answered, letting go of the arm. "I am terribly sorry, but I had the wrong idea." She didn't let her voice show it, but having made a mistake, Timea became more worried, mostly with the thought in mind that she could have made things worse than it was.

After saying this, Timea was quiet again, and thought of what else Anik's injury could be. "Hmm. Let's try something else. Your injury could also be a torn muscle, or tendon, so I'm going to speed up your recovery, to see if that changes."

With this said, Timea pouted her lips, and shone down a beam of sunlight on Anik's shoulder, doing like she said she would. Fearing the injury might heal incorrectly, Timea stopped after every four seconds where she needed to take a breath, and look the injury over more, to see how it was healing.

Anik was not paying much mind to Timea being sorry, her own hurting keeping her. She faintly smiled when Timea said she would try something different.

With the injury being a middle case of torn ligaments at her shoulder, the healing did indeed what Timea intended it to do. As the swelling was curbed and the pain was dulled, Anik still moaned a lot, now thinking that keeping still was useless, but did not need to cry out again. As the connections in her shoulder were rebuilt, she moaned louder, but stopped as soon as Timea was stopping.

"I think this was the right treatment." she said, smiling faintly again. "It does feel a lot better. Thank you." With that, she used her free hand to carefully feel her shoulder, realising that most of the pain when moving was gone, she moved the other arm carefully as well.

After a little bit, she added: "I think this animal was a little bit too big for me."

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:47

Seeing nothing else going wrong, Timea, more relieved, continued speeding up Anik's healing factor, stopping for a while once most of the injury had healed. When Anik thanked her, Timea said nothing, but looking a little troubled, not feeling like she deserved the thanks with the mistake.

At Anik's last comment, however, Timea smiled a little to herself. "For taking it down so directly like this, yes. It's not something we should try again", she responded, letting out a small, somewhat weak chuckle at the end. "Before I finish healing you, move your arm a little more. Moving back and forth, rotations, to see if it all went well so far, and you can do the full movement."

As Anik would do the movements, Timea leaned back, resting her arms on her knees. "You know, even if it didn't go perfectly, you did really well. You took down a strong, fast animal, practically all by yourself. And with your bare hands~! Even the early humans didn't do this, with similar animals. I'm very impressed."

Anik did as told, moving her arm back and forth. She was able to do most of it, although it still slightly hurt her, but as Timea had said she had not finished healing yet, she did not think too much of it. "Honestly, I doubt without your healing I could do these movements for a long time." she stated.

At Timeas praise, Anik let out a laugh, but it was not completely happy. "Thanks, I guess. It was quite a thing ... but I really should not do this again. I ... I need to know what I am even trying to bring down without weapons the next time. I think I got really lucky here.
It was a stupid thing to do."

"Oh, I agree. You were lucky that it didn't go worse than it did, and you would be in a bad position, if I wasn't here. But the fact remains, that you managed, and are more experienced for it. Something to keep in mind for the future, is that you can wear down animals like this by keeping on chasing them. They can run faster than you, but you can run longer. So, if you manage to not completely lose your prey, they will eventually not be able to put up much resistance." After saying this, Timea paused for a moment, to indicate a change in subject, then continued. "Another thing to consider, is your own size. Having stronger muscles will help cushion blows, making you less prone to injury. It can be the difference between a bruise, and, well... ,this.

But for now, let's continue repairing the ones that need it, shall we?"

With this said, Timea resumed shining sunlight on Anik's shoulder, without prolonged pauses, continuing until the shoulder fully recovered.

"More experienced, yes." Anik said, sounding not overly enthustiastic about it. "I'll keep that with running in mind ... but honestly, I doubt I could keep up a chase. Only a matter of time before I would trip and fall. ... Well" she laughed. "If I am able to chase the prey long enough, maybe a few falls would not even that big of a deal. As long as there are no trees ... or pitfalls ... or anything like an obstacle. I guess I could learn the lay of the land if I stay somewhere for more than one day."

Smiling, she added: "So, I guess it really is possible, thinking about it.

And yes, stronger muscles seem like a good thing to have, especially with that strength. I had not considered before that I would not be able to take much more, even though I have this ability."

She waited for Timea to finish the healing, now enjoying the sensation, instead of moaning about it.
