Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:49​

After shining sunlight on Anik's shoulder for forty seconds more, Timea stopped, finding everything looked normal. "Well, that should do it. Your other injuries are just scratches, they'll heal on their own, just fine. Although you should give them a quick wash, just to get the dirt away from there. You also have been crying", Timea relayed, standing up. "After you've done that, I'll come help you with preparing your meal."

With this said, Timea began walking back to where she had dropped the bear, moving at a quicken pace, eager to get more food in her stomach. "I'm going to fetch mine. I'll be back, soon."

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:49

"Alright." Anik said. Feeling the blood on her cheeks, she felt Timeas statement was unnecessary, but did not deem it important to say anything about it. Sitting up, she thought for a moment of how to do her wash, but when Timea started to walk away, she called out: "Wait! Can you bring me my bag, too? I would never find it again."

After a response, Anik decided to create some fires near her, as she started to freeze already. That done, she carefully took off the clothes that seemed to cover a wound in her mind, and her blindfold, and started to carefully wash her wounds and her face, cringing when touching a wound. As she took off a boot, she found on of her ankles was hurting as well, although not as bad as it could have been.

Finishing the wash, Anik dressed herself again completely, although she felt the wind through the cuts in the sleeve of her coat after feeling the ground for it and putting it on. That done, she clicked and walked towards the body of the caribou, slightly limping. There, she started to feel its body, trying to learn its proportions. Soon enough she found the antlers and, being intimidated by then, murmured: "Oh gods, I was more lucky than I thought."

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:56​

"Of course, I'll do that", Timea called out in return.

Walking to the place where she had left the bear, Timea grabbed it by the ankle of its hind leg, then dragged it to where Anik had left her bag and cane, picking these up in her free hand. After, she walked back back to Anik, returning after seven minutes.

"Here you are", Timea mentioned, setting the bag down besides Anik, then crouching down. "So, preparing the meat. You should start with the organs, as usual. But I think you'll have enough after just one piece, so you won't need to make as big a cut."

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:56

Anik was still feeling the caribou, but when she sensed Timea coming back, she stood and placed one hand on the antlers. "Thank you." she said to Timea as she was placing the bag, but made no other move, as Timea wanted to start cutting.

"Wait." she said, even though her stomach was rumbling. "We need to talk.

This - " she moved the hand on the antlers. "Could have stabbed me. And I did not even know the animal had these. I need more information about the animals we are hunting. I can't just do it like this again. I can't see, I need you to tell me what kind of danger an animal could be. I rammed this one - if it had brought its head down, maybe I would be dead. Or a lot more injured than just ... whatever my shoulder was.

I don't know all of these animals as well. If I know something, I can prepare. I would even go so far to say then it would be easy. But if I don't know ... you need to tell me everything."

Anik paused, exhausted from her own rambling.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:56​

As Anik mentioned she wanted to talk, Timea looked up to her with a slightly tilted head. Listening to what Anik had to say, however, Timea averted her eyes, looking back up a few moments after Anik finished. "Even with the snow, you've done so well in making things out, I simply assumed you could manage to make out the danger. ... But this is no excuse. You are right, I should have informed you better. It was bad judgement, and you, probably, were hurt because of it. I am sorry."

Vala - Day 9 - 06:38

Cybil would find that there was nothing much to do in Vala, since all of the businesses were producing weapons, armour and the like. The only other things in the city were the residences, the northern ward and the temples. The temple of Calibeth was visibly closed off.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:56

Anik was not really satisfied by Timeas answer, as she was not sure Timea would remember the next time. Still, she said: "I were not only hurt because of it, I could have been hurt a lot more. It was pure luck. Pure luck. We can't count on luck. ... Assuming is not ideal. Ask me if I can make out something, if I know what it is. But don't just assume. You can assume I can hear things. But don't assume I can hear antlers. How would that even ...

ah, whatever, let us just start preparing the food." With that, she took her dagger out of her coat, clicked, crouched down near Timea, and waited for her to instruct her more.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:57​

Timea said nothing as Anik brought forth her argument, nor for a little time after she finished, looking down to the ground. Eventually, and somewhat softly, she said, "it won't happen again."

After, Timea looked back to the caribou corpse, taking hold of the leg, and lifting it up. "So. Like, I said, you don't need to fully expose the gut. Just make a cut from here, just above the groin--" she began to explain, tapping the place where she wanted Anik to cut, then traced the fingers up to about a quarter of the way up to the belly, tapping this. "--up to about the stomach area, here. From there, you can reach in for the stomach, and cut it loose. The stomach will be the first thing to fill with gas, so it's a good idea to take it out, first. From there, it's the same as usual: Back away from your meal for hygiene reasons, and cut the stomach open to rid it of any contents. Wash it out, and then it's ready to be roasted."

Speaking, Timea sounded more distant, not very focuses. Sensing her feelings would reveal why, a large sense of guilt stewing inside her, coupled with anger, directed at herself, and overall frustration.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:57

Listening to Timea explain things, Anik, while still angry as well, felt a lot of sympathy towards Timea when sensing her feelings. Still, she listened to what Timea was explaining, making sure to remember all of it. After Timea was finished, Anik tapped the places as well, asking Timea: "From here ... to here?", missing the stomach area slightly.

Curious about the contents of the stomach and the hygiene reasons, she asked: "Can you actually eat all of these organs?"

While waiting for answers, she used her knife to cut near the groin upwards, realizing this took some strength, not being very fast.

Vala - Day 9 - 06:38

Cybil would spend the rest of the day exercising as much as she could. Every few hours she would go by the library, find Robin still busy, then go back to doing her own business.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:58​

"Almost. Stop for a moment", Timea instructed, then took hold of Anik's free hand, moving it to the spot on the belly Timea had indicated. "To there. Any further up, and the bowels would be that much more likely to spill out, which would just make moving it harder than it needs to be."

Letting go of Anik's hand again, Timea leaned back, and watched. "Certainly. Not everything will taste equally well, but it's edible. Just not the juices in the stomach, or any possible contents. Leave that for the scavengers. The same goes for any other thing through which food passes."

After explaining this, Timea paused, then asked, "you know what to do from here, yes?"

 

[Silence]

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:58

"Alright." Anik said shortly, wondering if she herself was able to eat as much as Timea was. Still, with this animal resembling some other quadruped mammals, she saw no reason not to try it.

"I think so, yes." she answered, cutting the belly of the caribou open, and feeling for the stomach to cut it lose. Her blindness, which led to a heightened sense of touch, helped her in this case quite a lot. She was able to find it quite quickly, mostly from realizing that it had some food in it, still. After cutting it lose, she took it out of the belly, careful that nothing of the content was spilled inside.

Crawling a few steps backwards, she cut the stomach open and emptied it, creating a water glove to wash its inside, then its outside, after. "That's a big meal." she stated, smiling. She then prepared a fire rune to roast it.

Robin looked up when Cybil entered, acknowledging her at least, but immediately dove right back into the booms.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 10 - 18:58​

With Anik stating she was able to handle things by herself, Timea stood up, and stepped over to the bear, crouching down there, and beginning preparing it. "Definitely. You won't have to catch anything for yourself, for a while with this catch", she said as she worked.

She would spent the remaining time, mostly silent, speaking only if spoken to.

Western Road - Day 10 - 21:52​

Finishing her meal after one hour and 45 minutes, having eaten the entire bear, and the rest of the caribou stomach that Anik couldn't eat herself, Timea announced she was done. The party then began moving to the road leading west, to Mathan Daer, taking some ten minutes to get on the right track. She had her blanket out again, it being tied around her waist.

Timea offered to remove the antlers of the caribou to make it easier to move around, instructed Anik to drag it behind her, holding the lower fore and hind legs in each hand, and keep it at an angle. Other than giving the advice, and answering any possible questions, she would still be quiet, not in the mood to talk.

Looking at the sky as the party moved, Timea spoke again. "It looks like the stars are out, so it must be evening. I don't think any stores will still be open, by the time we reach Mathan Daer."

Western Road - Day 10 - 21:52

With the caribou stomach, Anik had quite a feast, taking all the time in the world, drinking some wine she had in her bag with it. The food was helping her mood quite a bit, and she smiled to Timea, even though saying nothing but the basic things.

With Timea having removed the antler, Anik was able to drag the caribou quite well, even though she still limped slightly, and had to carry the cane with under her armpit.

As Timea spoke, Anik thought a little bit, then answered: "That's not ideal. But honestly, I would not want to climb a mountain right now without a rest. So we don't really lose any time. Finding a spot to sleep near Mathan Daer would be fine for me."

Western Road - Day 10 - 21:52​

"So, we'll head in to town first thing in the morning", Timea mused. "This is actually more convenient, then heading straight to the mountain. This way, we can ask if any of the others passed through, and what kind of fruits grow in the area. I know you said there wouldn't be, but wolves eat fruits, too, and they're quite common in this area. So, there might just be some fruits that have adapted to do well in the cold?"

 

[Silence]

Western Road - Day 10 - 21:52

"Huh ... wolves eat fruits? I did not know that. Maybe there are fruits I do not know about, or types of fruits I know which can grow in the cold." Anik said. She smiled, adding: "So some things are working out quite well. I really wonder if others would pass through here ... I don't know in which direction Mathan Daer is, where would you go if you came through here?"

Vala - Day 10 - 6:05

Knowing that Robin was a huge nerd, Cybil left him to conduct his business in the library for the entirety of that day. Then next day she went on to see if he was done.

WeEastern Road - Day 10 - 21:52​

Timea frowned a little at Anik mentioning some things were going well, not agreeing very much.

"Mathan Daer is the northern-most city, along with Femesh Daer. So the only way to go is the path we're on, or south. Which doesn't make it very likely the others came through there with the consul, but it's best to check, to make sure", she answered, blowing a soft sigh thereafter.

Cybil would find Robin passed out on the desk, not snoring but clearly asleep, his eyes and nose pressed into a book.
