"Haha, yes. I better not try carve into rock with my fingernails." Anik laughed. "But I think there would be the possibility, if I had some metal or some harder rock, to carve into a softer one. Still, you are right, we should look for a good piece of wood I could try my hands on."

Biting and chewing down, Anik started to feel for the second carving after she had eaten enough to fit the rest into one hand.

"And a good tool, of course. This dagger I have - I don't think it is the best for carving. It could burn the wood. Even though it itself is wholly made out of wood. Really strange." she added, still in a really good mood.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:06​

At Anik mentioning her carving into rock with her nails, Timea imagined this, letting out a soft snicker at the mental image this lead her to.

"That would definitely not work, no", she answered as Anik mentioned the dagger. "Next time I come across a decent sized rock, I'll take it along, and make a tool out of it for you. I don't know much about how different types of wood behave, however. So you'll primarily be experimenting."

Once she found the statuette of the pine tree, Anik would find the top part was the same as last she felt it, as that had already been finished. The trunk, however, had changed a lot. The shape changed to be more asymmetrical like a trunk would be, and the bark texture had been carved in to it.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:06

"That's fine. And great of you, wanting to make me a tool. I don't really know how I would create one, myself." Anik said.

Feeling the pine tree statuette in a similar fashion like she had the one before, Anik said: "I think you are really talented, being able to carve these rocks like this. The part you finished - that's the part I am familiar with of these trees. And I think you did really well." She smiled broadly. "I don't know if the praise means anything to you, but I do it nonetheless." Anik then held the statuette close to her heart, and said: "So I can keep this, right? I really like it."

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:07​

At Anik's praise, Timea bashfully shuffled her feet about. She didn't feel she had done anything extraordinary, and didn't think it was deserving of such praise. Although, at the same time, felt glad Anik appreciated the statuettes.

"Well, thank you", she said, a wry smile on her face. She took tore some more meat from the ribs, laying the bones that had been picked clean aside. Smiling more brightly as Anik held the statuettes to her heart, she then answered, "Of course. They're all yours. It'll be a memento to our journey~"

 

[Silence]

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:07

"Thank you." Anik said. Lightly joking, she added: "The statuette of all of us is for Hillary, if she doesn't eat it, but I like the pine tree enough." Smiling, she stroked it a little bit more, then put it into one of the pockets of her coat, so as to have it closer. The other statuette she packed back in her bag, after feeling it for a little bit again.

She then continued eating her meal, adding to it an apple, some bread and some beer out of her bag.

"She mustn't take anything from here, back to her own world", Timea stated. "In the best case scenario, the world itself would consume the object. But in the worst case... something changes over into the material, and causes a catastrophic chain reaction."

Shortly after saying this, Timea fell silent, realising there might not be a way for Hillary to turn back into slime, this potentially making herself the catalyst.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:07

"Huh. I had not thought about this." Anik said. "So ... well, this is sad. But I'm not sad, so I don't want to think about it. Change of topic? What is our plan today?"

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:08​

Timea let out a "hmm", then shook her head. She couldn't help but think about the subject for a moment longer, but soon answered Anik's question.

"Well, getting off this mountain, obviously. Then heading southwards, towards Meltha. There, we'll ask if the others passed through. Depending on how tired we are by that point, we might stay in the area to rest, or continue on towards the unnamed village."

 

[Silence]

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:08

"The unnamed village, where we talked to Et? Does it really have no name?" Anik asked, curious. "Anyways, sounds like a good plan. Although ... how exactly are we getting off this mountain? Honestly, I doubt I can climb down. Well, maybe you could let me down on the rope. Still ... I did not think about this when we climbed up."

She laughed, and continued eating, not overly worried, thinking that Timea surely would have a good idea.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:08​

"If it does, I don't know about it", Timea answered, in an off-hand comment, before answering Anik's second question. "As for how we'll get off, I'd first have to get your belongings down. After that, I'd indeed lower you down on the rope, and climb after you. I left finger holes in the rock when climbing up, so the way down shouldn't be all too difficult for you to find, yes?"

With more of her own meat finished with roasting, Timea resumed eating, herself.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:08

Hmm ... yes, this should be possible." Anik said. "I'll sometimes have to let my feet dangle down though ... I doubt I can really find the finger holes with them. I need to knot the rope differently around me, so this will be possible. So that I am basically carried down. I'll try to make it as easy on you as possible. And I should be able to get some grip with my fingers, but I don't know if that will be all too useful.
We will make this work, somehow."

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:09​

"Well, the alternative would be my flying you down. I still would prefer this, over taking the climb."

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 10:09

"Hmm ... well, now we know that up here is safe, so ...
I guess you could fly me down. I'll survive some time waiting down, alone. And Hillary can stay with Faotar until you come back." Anik said, thinking while speaking, finally smiling.

"Yes, now that I know how all of the situation is, this might be the better method. Will be a lot faster, too, I presume."

The innkeeper listed off the food that was offered, which consisted of a range of meats, rice-based dishes and fruits and vegetables.

"Oh, it'll be ever so much quicker", Timea responded, more happily. "Of course, with this plan, you won't get the exercise of the climb. So, once you're done with eating, maybe you could do some exercises while waiting for me?"

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 13:44​

Three hours and 35 minutes after starting it, Timea finished her meal. Blowing a contented sigh, she formed a talon from her index finger, and picked her teeth with this. "Ahh. That wasn't a bad meal", she said happily. Standing up, she stretched her legs. "Now, before we head out, I want to thank Faotar for his hospitality. And ask some small questions. We'll head out after this, all right?"

"This is good!" Speedy exclaimed, as his hair began to interact with the elctricity and get all spiky and stuff.
"Now you just need to give me one good shock, and then we are done!"

"Sure." Anik said, and continued her meal, very slowly, as she knew Timea would take ages for her own again. After she was done, she rubbed her belly happily, and laid back, relaxing.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 13:44

"Nice." Anik said. She had already started exercising, as she got bored while waiting for Timea, but as her endurance was extremely high now, she knew she would be able to do a lot more later.

"Sounds like a good plan." she added, and got up. "Let's go. I will probably wait with him while waiting for you to bring our things down, anyways."

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 13:44​

"Okay, then", Timea responded, mostly to let Anik know she agreed with the plan. Picking up the fire blanket, Timea tied it around her waist, then headed to the inner chamber.

Reaching it after the two minutes, Timea stopped. "Good morning", she greeted the wolf god. "I wanted to thank you for letting us rest in your den."

 

[Silence]

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 12 - 13:44

Anik followed Timea to Faotar, and bowed before him again, smiling and nodding to what Timea was saying.
