Zephy continued to admire the ring for a moment or two before the other two might start seeing double of the blonde catgirl. The other image was pretty faint, even sketchy, but it was clear. Zephy herself didn't seem to notice. [color=46e16f] "Something new, huh? I'm not against it..." [/color]

Zephy blinked in confusion before turning around. The image seemed to fade once her attention shifted off the ring. [color=46e16f] "Eh? Dividing? I think I would feel such things, wouldn't you agreee?" [/color]

[color=46e16f] "When I stopped focusing?" [/color] Zephy now stared at the metal, but no afterimage of her came into view... Not this time at least. She kept up that odd look on her face for a long while before she snapped her head back to look. As once before, nothing. She huffed again before she looked to the other two.

Village Outskirts - Day 14 - 09:53​

"I just cut the meat into smaller, manageable pieces, as usual. This makes it easier to roast, and eat", Timea answered. She untied the blanket again, and spread it out over the ground, to roast the meat over. She then removed the skin on the outside of a pair of ribs, and held these out to Anik. "Here you are~"

 

[Silence]

"Hmm." Anik answered, not really satisfied with the answer, but accepting it. She clicked and took the ribs, smiling thankfully. She tried to roast them over the blanket again, as the meat was a little too big for one of her fires, and she was not in the mood to draw several runes.

With the response Anik gave, and her otherwise being quiet, Timea looked to her curiously, for a moment. "Is anything on your mind, Anik?" she eventually asked, removing the hide from a foreleg, and holding this over the fire as well.

"... I was asking about the details. I could hear that you were cutting the pieces, but I wondered if there was a special technique to it." Anik answered slowly. "It's sometimes annoying, that I can't just watch."

"Ah, I see. Well, for the future, don't be ashamed to ask for what you want to know, specifically. After all, I might not be able to tell the difference between you asking something with passing interest, and wanting to know the specific works", Timea informed Anik, continuing after a small pause.

"Either way. I began removing the legs, severing them from the torso at the shoulder, in a way so most of the meat from the shoulder comes with the leg. For that, it's best to cut the connection around this bone." Speaking, Timea stood up, and stepped behind Anik. Snapping her fingers, she leaned in, and traced a finger over Anik's shoulder blade. "I then split the ribs, but cutting through this bone, here." Pausing her explanation again, Timea stepped over to Anik's side, and leaned in to trace a finger over her sternum. "You wouldn't really be able to do that with a knife, however. So to remove that bone, you'd have to stick with the way of removing the loose ribs."

"Are you following, so far?"

Anik smiled and said: "Yes, you are right, I should have asked more specifically. I did consider you not knowing what I would be able to know from hearing, and what not."

She listened to the explanation attentively, appreciating Timea not just telling, but also showing her, so she could feel and know precisely. "I am, yes. Although, how do you mean this, removing the loose ribs?"

"Well, the breastbone is connected to the ribs by softer bone. They would be--", Timea trailed off. She snapped her fingers around, and traced her fingers over Anik's ribs, doing so for three seconds, until she moved over where the costal cartilage started, on the first rib. "--about here. The lower ribs have these loose ones more. It's a bit to show like this where it all starts, however, so feel around on the ribs, once you've eaten the meal to get a better idea.

Most animals with a skeleton have these in the same place, however. So once you learn where they start, you can apply it to most other things."

"Ah, alright." Anik said, curiously. "I did not know that these bones are softer. And yes, I will feel this.

Yes." she smiled, "I know that this is quite similar in most animals. It's also why I asked, to know about it, if I would catch a slightly smaller animal.

Now, was this all you did, apart from cutting the meat into pieces?"

"No, the last thing I did, before that, is to remove the ribs from the backbone. The easiest way to do this, is to cut the meat along along the backbone, divide the ribs into by cutting the meat in-between them, and then just pulling at the ribs to break them free. This takes a bit of force, but it's nothing too hard. And that's it~"

Walking back to where she had been sitting, before, Timea picked up the leg again, and moved it back over the fire.
