"... I think so." Anik said, though she wondered why Timea was feeling disappointed.

The poke let her to bring a hand up, trying to take Timeas into hers.

"Speaking of the sensitivity ... when I was in Vala, it was not as bad as before. For some reason. I ... have no idea, why. But I had no problems inside the city."

Vala Area - Day 15 - 15:59​

Seeing Anik bring up her own hand, Timea didn't pull hers back, letting Anik take hold of it, while continuing to eat with her free hand.

"Oh?" Timea questioned. "That's definitely good to hear, but I can't say I understand the reason. ... Maybe it's because things are going a lot better, now?"

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 15 - 15:59

"But ... they were going not as well, last night.
And I thought I could not speak with any of the others, after I had asked, in Vala. It still did not change much. I ... ah, I give up. I don't understand myself at all." Anik moaned.

She held Timea's hand, just playing with it a little bit, stroking it and holding it softly, not really conscious about what she was doing there.

She was quiet for a little bit, then asked, because she still did not understand Timea's disappointment previously: "What would you think I should do, if I would not go to one such "advanced" world? It seems like you are not really fond of me going there."

Vala Area - Day 16 - 2:08

Finally arriving to find Anik awake, Cybil walked over to her, not feeling any need to announce her presence as Anik seemed to notice her earlier with no problems.

Vala Area - Day 15 - 16:00​

"Well, you did say that when you feel good, you feel so very much. This may explain it. Or be part of the explanation", Timea mused, although she wasn't all that sure.

Although she didn't mind Anik holding her hand much, she felt awkward when Anik began stroking it, and lightly pulled it away. "You picked up on this, hmm?" she said while doing so. "You're right, I don't like the idea. But to answer your question, maybe you could be tutored on the world you wish to settle on. ... Although if this would result in increased travel to this world, I think it might defeat the purpose of moving there. Potentially, you may also self-teach yourself how to do it. This would be ideal, I think."

Vala Area - Day 15 - 16:00

Anik did not mind Timea pulling the hand back, as she had not really noticed what she had been doing with it anyways.

"I ... guess that would work as well. I would still need someone from a world in which the blind can read. Well, I probably could deal with the travel, but this suggestion does not change too much ... I would probably still need to at least visit such a world.

Self-teaching, though? How do you even suppose I could do that? I have no idea how reading for the blind works. And I would need at least some books, with which I could practice this. And these ... also would be from such a world. Because the writing I know ... is completely invisible to me. I tried, and tried, to feel something, to even comprehend books, but every site is just the same for me. I can't self-teach without even knowing how something like this would work."

Timeas lack of good advice made her slightly grumpy, though she was otherwise more angry at herself, again, than at Timea.

Sensing Cybil approach, Anik stood up, and turned towards her.

"Cybil? Welcome back!" she called out, though not too loud, so she would not wake the others. "Were you successful?"

Vala Area - Day 15 - 16:02​

"Well, potentially, you might loan books that have writing like this from Cybil, along with a series of cassette tapes and a player, telling you the things you need to know. Cassette tapes are things that have sounds stored on them, which you can listen to using the player. I know similar devices exists, although I couldn't really say what the differences between them are", Timea explained. "It doesn't really matter, the point is, that with this, you can be told what to do, without a person needing to be there to teach you. You might even loan these, while we're still here, and then you can give the material back, when we leave. It would greatly extend the time we're here, in all likelihood, but I don't mind this much."

With this explained, Timea paused to eat some more. "This is, of course, assuming things like this exist on Cybil's world, but going by her and Matilda's clothing style, I wouldn't say it's improbable to think the two worlds are on the same level."

Vala Area - Day 15 - 16:02

"I ... huh." Anik made, having understood not much about cassette tapes. "Well ... I guess I could ask Cybil, though I'm not really sure if I should carry this while we are wandering. I ... I don't know. I have to feel that to understand, I think.

But you want to go on a world without people? Don't you need someone to keep you company, to talk to you, even if it is only on rare occasions?"

[color=9f2089]"Yep! But... There's a bit of a catch."[/color] Cybil replied to Anik. [color=9f2089]"I need you to do me a favor before I can let you to have the means to communicate with me from anywhere. I need you to promise to have an interview with someone if we give you a lift off-world."[/color] Cybil explained.

Vala Area - Day 16 - 2:09

"Huh ..." Anik made, but smiled. "Well, I just wanted to ask if there would be something we needed to do in return. You could give all three of us a lift at some point, right?
Anyways, I'll gladly do it.

... what's an interview? And with whom?"

[color=9f2089]"Well, an interview is when you sit down with someone, and they ask you questions you do your best to answer. The person who sent me hear is very eager to speak with you after what you told me."[/color] Cybil replied. [color=9f2089]"So eager that she doesn't mind sending you or your friends anywhere you want to go."[/color]

"Well, that does not sound too bad. So, sure ... I'll do it." Anik said. "However, I'm kind of confused why she wants to know this bad...

She wants this in ... your world, right? You know a reason why she wants to do it?"

"Not at all", Timea was quick to answer. "Creatures like me are solitary by nature. I've come to appreciate being around others, but I'll still be perfectly happy if I never meet anyone again. I've been living like this for a very long time, after all.

With that said, I would have liked to visit you every once in a while. But this doesn't seem to be an option with current arrangements."

Vala Area - Day 15 - 16:03

"Hmmm..." Anik made, slightly sad. "I ... guess we could ask them if I could come visit you sometimes. Though I'm not sure if it is possible, as well.

I would really miss you, Timea. Probably more than you me. I'm ... well, I'm used to being alone, but I'm not used to missing a friend ... can I call you that?"

The arrow sailed over Shara's head. The spearman tried to re angle his attack at the last second as a feint, originally going for the stomach but now going for her crippled arm. The fire mage threw a ball of flame towards her as well.

"I ... don't know. We took maybe 18 hours from Femesh Daer, and then climbing the mountain ... maybe a whole day?
I think it would be good to go there, though, no matter what is with Shara. The books are about Quan Chi's home and such!"

[color=9f2089]"Well, she's a scientist. She's been studying events like what has happened here for some time now. So far first hand accounts are the best data she can get to understand it more."[/color] Cybil explained.

[color=9f2089]"But anyway, I'm glad you agreed."[/color] She said with a smile. [color=9f2089]"Hold out your hand and I'll give you the device to communicate with me at a later time."[/color]

Vala Area - Day 15 - 16:04​

"After everything we've done together? Absolutely, you can", Timea answered softly, feeling strangely happy and sad, at the same time. Giving a squirt of water on her hands, Timea shuffled closer to Anik on her knees, then snapped her fingers, and moved Anik's hair aside, nuzzling her neck, doing so slowly, and pressing into the neck more firmly, although not to an extend it would hurt. "I will miss you, too."

Vala Area - Day 15 - 16:04

Anik smiled, also sadly, and rubbed her head against Timeas when she nuzzled her neck. "You ... told me earlier, that we should not call each other that. It is really nice that you ... changed your mind, or that we changed together." she said softly.

She felt a single tear run down her cheek, triggered by her own and Timeas emotions, but she did give it no mind right now.

"Ah, alright." Anik said. "This does make a lot of sense."

She held out her hand so that Cybil could place the device there. When she did so, Anik felt it carefully with her fingertips.
"How does it work?" she asked.

Mountain Camp - Day 11
You easily deflect the stab against your arm, thanks to a combination of sensing the bluff and not having to move the sword much to cover your torso and arms. As you counter-attack, chopping down on the spear, a ball of fire hits your left arm. You scream out in agony, lunging forward and slashing diagonally at the spearman. Down on one knee, you breathe shallowly as you try to ignore the pain.
