The hardest game by far that I've played is Ghosts N Goblins for NES. That game is ridiculous with its difficulty, took me almost an hour just to beat the first level.

I guess Demon's Souls.
I got it on the 28th of December.

It is a difficult game, but once you know where enemies are and what their attacks are like, it isn't as difficult.

And the bosses...
They can be VERY difficult.
Like I said above, after you know what their attacks are like, it isn't as difficult, but it is still difficult.
Firestorm on 5-1/5-2 bosses = instant win!

I assume that my "new game +" will be mostly cake thanks to it and my Fragrent Ring.

MP regen, ftw!
I remember finding that ring and then after a couple hours of playing, I went to Patches back at the Nexus and saw that he was selling the same ring for 60 000 souls.
That's...kind of a rip off...

Same with that one ring that you can buy from the girl in 3-1.
I can't remember the name of the ring, but you get more Demon's Souls while wearing it.
I'm glad that I didn't buy it. I found it a little bit later on a dead body!
Hey, guess what?

Royalty class...STARTS WITH IT!
Hmm.

Well, I guess that's another reason not the buy that ring at a vendor!

True Crime in the Streets of L.A the game itself wasn't hard but there was one utter ***** of a boss made me break my controller...
Was it the Speedo Man in the spa level? God, I hated that boss. No guns only kung-fu.

OT: Castlevania was certainly a challange, and MegaMan was a summer wasted, but the hardest game I've played would have to be World at War on Legendary.

a bit off-topic, but;

How hard is that game compared to Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil?
Alot. and Rin is only stage 5.

And I see your Subterranean Animism and raise you a Mystic Square. Shinki's homing curvy lasers are unforgiving. Though in 11 Utsuho's FUCKING SUNS don't help either. Or Unzan's version of Knuckle Joe's vulcan jab from 12.

You know what? over 90% of Touhou is bullshit. I say this entire franchise.

But if I had to give it to a single game, its either 2, or 7.

The evil eye in 2 is terrifying cause you couldnt focus, and well, Yukari Yakumo is the only extra extra stage boss in the franchise I believe.

nah it was the punk ***** who you had to fight in hand to hand as well, she had this unblockable and cheap as hell cartwheel that did massive as hell damage and she used it over and over and over again drove me nuts.

Has anyone tried to play Dragon Age on Nightmare? I could just get by on normal...
I swear it's not possible.

Bah. Yukari's worse.

Anyway, I'd say IWBTG takes second place, after a certain roguelike: ADOM, or Ancient Domains Of Mystery.
*clenches fist* ADOM.. My thoughts on a few Roguelikes are as follows- Nethack will kill you if you screw up, but you always have a chance. Angband is half assedly trying to kill you. ADOM wants you dead and will feed off your sweet delicious tears.

I loved that Nethack was always pretty fair, there was very little you couldn't avoid if you thought strategically. ADOM has none of that, it's just completely fucking unfair, and anyone who gets a special ending without reading a spoiler is a fucking liar.

Kudos on beating Crawl though. I'm playing around with Stone Soup, it's proving.. frustrating.

I'd probably go with Mega Man 2. I could get to one of the last bosses, but never beat it.
Couldn't even bring myself to see what hard looked like.

Bayonetta on hardest.
I'm not even sure it's humanly possible to get platinum in it.

Did it without dying once.
The trick is to use fire.

Monster hunter freedom unite, most definitely, much harder than demon souls, much much harder, and even less forgiving of mistakes.

Eversion. That game is EVIL, and getting the "good" ending is somewhere between murderously and maniacally difficult.

Heart of Darkness (PC, think it was on the PSX as well though) - first bloody game my dad ever gave to me.

I was 4. Even he couldn't do it!
Ye it was on the PS as well. Did you manage to finish it? I did when I went back a few years ago.

Some of the Megamans can be quite hard given the gauntlet like last run to the final boss. Ninja Gaiden games, DMCs on higher difficulties. WaW on Vet too many god damn nades.

I'd say dynast warriors 5: empires on Chaos difficulty: Lu Bu, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei were out of control
