The Hidden Blade is a spring loaded dagger in a mechanism I presume something like an armband on their arms that is activated some what like spider man's web when they move their hand back.

if anyone has seen "inglorious bastards"
at the end where the two characters who are pretending to be Italians in the cinema have a wrist mounted weapon thats fired by punching someone
it could be something like that.

on another completely unrelated note, i have found the secret to anti-gravity.

A discussion on a weapon that I believe is only in a video game is comparable to a lengthy debate on the use of lightsabres in Iraq.
Lightsabers are inhumane and should be outlawed. Jedi should use blaster pistols like everyone else.
But blaster pistols are bad for the environment.

I'm pro-saber.
but sabers are too flashy and the public does not like the government to spend money on flashy weapons.

plus blasters make a pew pew noise when you shoot them.

I'm Pro blaster.

a better question is how does the release mechanism work? some of the one hit kills and assasinations are done with a fully open hand (palm strike) so theres no button being pressed and if it was pressure from the forearm tendons, not only would it be really uncomfortable, you could have it go off accidently or not at all when needed.

Actually, he delivers a strike with it through time, and destroys the very existence of the people he kills, that's why noones bothered when they disappear.
Or maybe he just stabs them. That's right, it is made of blade afterall.

That's why we need to make darksabers.
That's right: it is just like a lightsaber, except it's made of dark--> not flashy weapon.
It is powered by the souls of the enemies slain with it, so it's environment friendly.

you may be on to something there. although the technology may create a backlash when people hear the word "darksaber" it sound evil. maybe call it "super happy fun stick"
that names trademarked by a adult toy company. perhaps calling it a "stabby stick"?
or "Anti-personnel man operated energy weapon" and call it an energy sword for short.

It's a blade hidden within a bracer powered by a flick of the wrist and comes out just beyond the fingers. So to answer the question it's a blade that uses palm strikes to penetrate enemy flesh

The really real question is if anyone has written in to the Mythbusters about this yet. I think it's been established that it's mostly a Palm Strike, but how does the spring mechanism work? If it was just a literal flick of the wrist, it would be way too inconvenient. You'd be shanking people all the time.

Since you're not holding it in your hand it's not a dagger, it is just a quick way to say don't fuck with me mate.

Altairs was a single piece blade. Davinci edited the blade so that you didn't have to cut off your ring finge. Ezio's was two pieces one not even a blade so that you had aplace for your fingers to rest. In stealth assasinations, he does it open palmed to let the blade go deeper. In combat, hes more or less fist-fighting with a blade out, with the blade in between the ring and middle finger. A combo kill with it I've seen him put his hands on top of someones head and have the blade go into their eyes, while another was Ezio rapidly punching the enemy in the stomach with the blade out. Another, he drosses his arms and pulls them apart, slashing the enemies throat.
Actually Leonardo only copied the design in the codex, Written by Altair

Daggers are really meant to be used with an ice pick grip with a downwards stab into the neck they aren't really designed for slashing

The hidden blade however is not used with an ice pick grip with a downwards stab.

It's just a forceful puncture from the Wrist.

Yeah - It's a stab - It's not a knife or dagger stab though; It's a forceful puncture from the wrist.

You said 'Downwards stab' Implying a vertical grip - not just 'stab'

ice pick grip is the proper way to use a dagger like how the wrist blade is meant to stab not used to slash

Apart from one is used from the knuckles and the other with a grip.

Yes but both methods don't allow effective cuts to be made the wirst blade is open palm and is inconivntly placed and to short to be used to cut and daggers are held with the blade facing behind the body with a blade too short and narrow to slash

Dude - I don't think the Hidden blade should slash - I think it's complete bollocks.

I agree with you on this one.

I think the Hidden blade is a fist/wrist weapon made for stabbing and augmenting your normal punches.

My friend thinks It's a weapon on it's own and can be used for anything (Slashing, blocking etc)

Blocking? that would be far too risky plus the entire mechanism wouldn't stand upto the stress
