The acid trip scene from Willy Wonka, or the last scene in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I have watched a lot of films and shows that have freaked me out. I have an over active imagination, so anything I watch I believe will come true. The one film that truly scared the crap out of me was The Ring. The film itself didn't scare me, it was what happened AFTERWARDS. Exactly a week from watching the film, my telly started doing the thing it does on the movie when the telly goes fuzzy. I swear I could see a well. I haven't been able to watch that film for ages. I was 13 when I watched and I'm nearly 19 now.

Fuck me that movie scared the shit outta me when I was little.

Hey, I was 9 and scared of aliens. What do you want from me?
Now I'm afraid to look up the plot...

What happens? Why is it so scary?

EDIT:

Neverending Story....the wolf scenes.
Damn straight. Scariest bloody thing I can remember from my childhood movie experiences. Still find it a bit creepy at the end after all these years.

The episode of Pingu where the penguin gets chases around by a giant seal. I'd flee the room as soon as that came on.

I started watching R rated horror movies when I was 5 years old, I could watch most even then and laugh when someone got a ax to the head or butcher knife in the chest (I can distinguish fantasy from reality, im not that creepy I swear). but it took years for me to even be able to LOOK at the cover of the movie chucky. that fuckin doll scared me shitless when I was young. I was even afraid to walk down the horror movie section for fear of my gaze falling on that things face.

I can't remember being properly scarred by anything, but I think a Rugrats movie has shaped one of my recurring nightmares.

PINK. MOTHERFUCKING. (adding a third) ELEPHANTS.

If you don't already know what I'm talking about, don't bother asking.

Neon Genesis: End of Evangelion

I wasn't so much a kid anymore, but it was the first time I ever had any mental scarring as the result of a movie.
That film was pretty fucked up. I'll grant you that.
For me it was ET. it scared the piss out of me when i was younger, and I remember getting up to throw a ball in the laundry room at night time expecting it to be thrown back.
Funny thing is something did throw it back, but I'm almost 80% sure that was in a dream, I think...
