I'd probably prefer Kenshin as the Battousai, seeing as his willingness to kill makes him an even more fierce enemy.(see ep. 7, Deathmatch Under the Moon)

For heavy artillery, gundams. They're big, cool, and have heavy firepower.
And Haruhi as the commander. She'd whip them into shape, and they'd be almost guaranteed to win thanks to her subconscious reality warping.

And Bruce Campbell would be at the helm alongside Bruce Willis and the reincarnated Bruce Lee. Can't beat those guys.
