Actually i was hoping for a Game that shows the perspective from a different Side. Now dont go flaming me for it and hear me out first.
It doesnt matter which game you play, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty and so forth have all shown pretty much every single Angle of the second World War, but only for the side of the Allied Troops or Russians. Where you start as a proud little Soldier so contend with the View that every German is the ultimate evil (that has been in propaganda btw) and therefore deserves no Mercy. So you go on killing lotsa german soldier pixels and free the World. Game over, you're done.
Now imagine starting differently. We know from History, or at least those that actually take their Time that no all German Soldiers were Nazis or agreed with their Decisions. They were Soldiers and swore an Oath to serve their Country, which is what most did, same with Americans who are always portrayed as Heroes, no matter what they did.
So if anything, i would consider a faithful Adaption of that Idea to start in a Concentration Camp, however you do not do anything, you simply follow some Officer, looking at the Prisoners left and right, hearing a Monologue of how disillusioned that Soldier is with what he sees, it culminates with you simply hearing a Gunshot, your Character turns automatically to see a Prisoner fall down dead, and it ends there. Fade to Black obviously, when you then begin the Game you rather play a German that indirectly sabotages the Nazi's War-Effort, fighting rather for what that Soldier believes to be right than whats being told, you dont fight for the Nazi's but rather your own Country, always having those Monologues now and then, hearing the Reasons why he is doing what he does, a more moral angle of the War, not a clear good/bad.
So yes, if done correctly such a Game could be very interesting. It might even culminate with the attempted Assassination of Hitler, which is also a historical Fact. With which the Game would end, of course in the End you lose, but you dont lose based on "You are the Evil Guy", but rather you simply lost, fighting still for what you thought was right and had to be done, even if that meant betraying your Country ultimately to stop a Madman. As said, they should, if ever, portray it as a moraly Gray Game, not a clear Good vs Evil as they have done so far.
The Topic though is controversial really, alot of People always assume that all Germans during the War were evil, even though they werent. So even just that change in Perspective would upset a lot of People for the Developers attempt to "protray the Nazis as good". So yeah it probably would never be done
