I have to put the fan on high, turn the lights off, open the windows, be wearing a light t-shirt with no socks and then and only then are the conditions acceptable. I'd say i'm an above average player but I suck when I where a mic.

I play Naruto games.

Those new ones, Rise of a Ninja and Brokens Bonds, were quite epic!

In fighter games i almost always end up holding my PS3 controller like an arcade stikc and give my poor fingers arthritis.

I also almost always play in First person when availabel, even if it's Sub-par. remember Ratchet and Clank? First Person.

If I can manipulate world objects I'll carry unwieldy objects as far through a level as I can, and feel bummed if they get destroyed halfway through. We're talking bookcases, mattresses, really long planks, that sort of thing.

If there's several characters and they have quotes, I'll corrupt the quotes. Captain Falcon's "Show me your moves" becomes "Show me your boobs," just as an example from SSB: Melee.

I spent the first levels of Half-Life 2 chucking personal objects of NPCs out the windows. When I got the gravity gun, everything went out of windows. If I know there's going to be a battle I'll clear the room of objects first if I can.

I also have a weird tweak where, if I absolutely love a game, I have a hard time finishing it, because then it's all over. I've gone years on some games without completing the last level, but I eventually get around to it. Twilight Princess is a good example, as was Earthbound, Super Metroid, and Portal.

Games that have two or more stories, like Threads of Fate, get both threads played simultaneously. I'll take each character through a section at a time so they're always in sync. This works until the end level, where I usually end up picking the second or non-default character through their ending first.

I don't know if its a quirk or just plain wrong, everything has to die once I start a game, unless its plot essential.

What are your gaming quirks? Games you love that everyone else despises, or something you like to do while gaming that nobody else does.

Mine is that I bought Unreal Tournament 3 to play with bots, and do not play it online.

This isn't a repeat.

Really? No way! Mine is to call out pricks who drop into a thread to say that despite the search bar yielding nothing similar that has recently been done.

Oh, right. I also tend to mime my character during battle scenes and super attacks. My favorites thus far have been Ike's "Great Aether" smash in Smash Brothers and Emil's "Devil's Hellfire" mystic arte (including the evil laugh during the Ain Soph Aur extension) in Tales of Symphonia 2.

not really
those posts are about games that some people like and many don't
these posts are about unusual habits that people adapt while gaming

I admit the issue of irregularity is present in both but they are significantly different topics

For one, whenever I can tweak anything, I try tweaking everything possible just to see what it does. Especially in racing games, I'll sit down for about 3-4 hours testing out different settings and whatnot before I usually go back to all of the default settings anyway.

Second, whenever I play any game that has text instead of voice overs by myself, I make up voices for EVERY character and try to speak in that voice. This has led to some interesting character voices, such as Ezel Berbier from the FFTA series with an extremely British accent, and has led me to attempt very strange voices for others.

Finally, whenever I play any RPG that has a gambling minigame in it (Quasar in Mass Effect and Fortune's Tower in Fable II, for example), I spend more time playing those than actually completing quests...It's really weird...Probably a good thing Fallout 3 doesn't have any...

i'm new here... and it does seem like a pretty prick thing to do.

like, if you've got a problem with it, don't click on threads you think you've already seen?

omg, imagine that.

on my wii, I sit down whilst playing every game, exept wii sports. Only for wii sports. I have no idea why, I just do.

Also, shooting random stuff on FPS's to see if the scenery really is destructible. In red steel, if you shoot a towel, a bullet hole appears, as if you'd shot a wall...

What? Those are all threads about games that you dont and do like.

This is a thread about quirks, which if you've read the content, provides completely different discussion.

In Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles I hold two Wiimotes so I can dual wield pistols and knives.

And in games in which you have secondary weapons with limited ammo, I will only ever use my primary weapon. Example: In Twilight Princess, I only used arrows when absolutely necessary, and I would smash pots until I had full arrows again before moving on after an arrow-based puzzle.

Well then welcome :) You'll find that as reasonable and friendly as a lot of us are, there'll be a good few whose only reason to be on the forums seems to be to annoy people.

Search Button whores are the biggest pricks on this site.
