I wouldn't have any problem playing a gay character. It might be sort of awkward if there was a romance thing going on, but then gay gamers have had to deal with straight romance for years so I'm sure I'd be able to roll with it.

I really don't see the comparison. Yeah, it's a sidescrolling platformer, but Mario was doing that long before LBP. It's multiplayer I guess, but I don't think it has the level creation stuff that Little Big Planet has. I don't think Nintendo is copying anyone on this one.
