Ah, thank you for that information. Perhaps I can convince a buddy to go and take me with him, paying for everything. :p
Spoken like a true cheapskate. You have learned well.
Learned?
I am the master of being a cheapskate.

I hate on everyone that says that Avatar has a bad story. Avatar DOES NOT have a bad story. It might not be original, but it's great, and would still be a good movie with a 50 million dollar budget.
But the atmosphere and visuals make for a remarkable experience, specially in 3D. There is a reason why it is popular. Because it is good.

I've seen it yesterday and it was just "good, but nothing special".

Then again, I didn't not see this in 3D. The little voice in my head said "Somehow, I've already seen something like this"...

Ah, but you were once a young padawan like them all, paying for that which you could scrounge, being polite, getting the bill, all of these things.

Now, you are truly a Master.
Thank you, Obi Wan Jar Jar Anakin Lord Vader, you have taught me well.
Now, away before I derail this any further. Sassafrass awaaaaaaaaaay! *Flies into window* Dammit!

i saw it in both 3d and regular formats and i enjoyed the regular better. personally i dont much like 3d but wut evs. :3 as to all you avatar haters, meh keep yammering, and to those who say its a terrible movie with no plot and squeezed by with looks, maybe, but regardless if it did or not james cameron made almost 3 billion dollars with this movie can you say the same?
i believe results don't lie, as to the buying of the dvd i think ill wait for the christmas release

I liked it, and am glad that one of the biggest films of all time is a Sci-Fi movie. I may get it on Blu-Ray, but there are other films I'd want more. Plus there's an extended version with a <url=http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/ir/hh/hhani/20445-avatar-hot-navi-sex>Hot Na'Vi Sex Scene and other things cut from the theatrical release coming soon so maybe I'll wait.

On a related note, you can buy Dances with Wolves for way cheaper and watch a movie written by a real writer, with a non-racist ass message, instead of buying the remake done by a hack who's only popular because he makes the shiny pictures to capture stupid people's attention.
I don't know ifa anyone's said this already but have you seen any other James cameron movie other than Avatar? The Terminator. Aliens. Terminator 2. Titanic. All gold, all classic top quality classics made by this so called hack. He is popular because he is a theatrical genius, not because he makes "shiny pictures". Sure Avatar featured a storyline that has been used thousands of times before, watch it for the pretty pictures. If you can't handle that because you are a ponce who can't enjoy anything other than the smell of his own farts, then don't buy the fucking movie. Just be satisfied that Avatar didn't win best picture or best director at the Acedemy Awards.

OT: I enjoyed Avatar, despite its flaws, however I won't need to buy it because my roomate loves Avatar. If I want to watch it I'll just watch his. It is a shame we don't have 3D TV, then it would definitely be worth buying.

A Furry porn/hippy fest/tree hugger/overrated action film came out. Hurray.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about this movie. It's pretty much against every view I ever held.

As for DVD sales... they'll be okay. Blue Ray player sales are going to pop though.

In my opinion it wasn't a bad movie nor was it a real good one, I do agree that most people like it just because it's eye candy and the story is a rip-off from a rip-off from a... (you get my point), But i didn't get bored once during this movie and that's actually all I expect from modern film making.
So, yes, I'll buy the DVD but not untill it's being sold for less than 12$ (just because I always refuse to pay around 20$ for a 2/3 hour movie).

No, I was not waiting for this. As the first reply said (screw you,) Avatar is meant to be in IMAX 3D, which, last time I checked, is impossible if you're at home. Frankly, not watching it in IMAX 3D is just not doing it justice.
