Masters, A Pokemon RP(CLOSED) Chapter 7: Out of the Woods.

[MasterSqueak]

Eric's eyes widened and he smiled.

"Yeah, that sounds great, thanks!"

Calhoun walked over, looking pretty worn out.

"Good job Calhoun! Want me to carry you in your ball until we get to the Pokemon Center?"

The pokemon nodded, and Eric returned him to his pokeball.

Eric turned back to Magnus.

"Good battle!"

 

[Aqualung]

At the sidelines, the girl smiled brightly, in contrast to the ever-serious looking Tauros looming behind her. Stepping forward, she clapped, and extended a hand to Eric.

"That was pretty great, kid! I'm surprised- the only Pichu's I've seen where I'm from are more like rodents than anything. But that one of yours is pretty damn tough!"

 

[MasterSqueak]

Eric smiled, shaking her hand.

"Thanks! By the way, how much did you say that milk was again? I'm sure Calhoun would like some."

 

[Aqualung]

The expression on the girl's face brightened dramatically at the mention, as though a lightbulb had flickered to life above her head. "Oh- right! Ten dollars, was it?" She looked back to the Tauros and clicked her tongue a few times, as though beckoning a steed. With a gentle snort, he heaved his bulking form toward the group, bottles clinking in their saddle bag.

Digging once more, she pulled out two bottles. "One of these out to make your Pichu feel better in a short time, actually. See, the nutritional value is so great, it boosts ones health almost instantly, and Pokemon manage to absorb these nutrients at an amazing rate." She held out one bottle. "Plus, they just taste terrific.

"My name's Elena, by the way," she slipped in casually, glancing to the strangers with a smile for each. "Farmer extraordinaire. Well- once I get my own farm, that is."

 

[MasterSqueak]

Eric looked at the bottle, before pulling out his wallet.

"Cool, so they're like potions? I forgot to buy those, so I'll take five."

He pulled out five ten-dollar bills.

"Oh, and my name's Eric."

Mark walked over to the group. "Nice job Eric, looks like you have that makings of a great trainer if you beat Magnus like that, he's been all over Kanto." He said turning to Elena. "And I'd love a bottle of milk but I'm broke." He put on his most charming smile and turned his front pockets inside out.

 

[Aqualung]

Elena seemed to slow her excitable pace at the sight of Eric's fistful of dollars. With a clearly pleased expression, she replied, "Of course!" and set the bottles on the ground. She pulled three more loose from Minos' side and started handing them over. I think I've just made a business partner...!

Looking to Mark, she could only wink devilishly and jest, "Well, then, you'd better come find me once those pockets are nice and happy, yeah?"

"I'll take five myself." Brandon said walking up to Elena, pulling out a $50. "Nice battle by the way Eric. Heh sorry I've never actually introduced my self. My name's Brandon, I'm a friend of Magnus's from Kanto."

Mark sighed. "I really should have asked for some money before I left, I didn't expect a ticket to cost that much." Mark lamented. "Oh right I guess I should introduce myself, my names Mark, and I have a proposition for you Elena, how about we have a battle if I win me and my pokemon get get a bottle of milk each free of charge, and if you win well..."

Sorry about not contacting you all. I figured that most of you were bored of the old one, so I didn't bother to contact anyone. I've got a couple of people lined up to be contacted when space opens up, I'll add you to the list.

Magnus flipped open his wallet and pulled out two twenty-dollar bills, and gave them to Elena. She handed him four bottles of the milk, and he placed them in the cooler in his backpack.

"Well, it seems like you've got yourself a profitable business, Elena." Magnus remarked. Brandon and Mark both congratulated Eric on beating Magnus, and Brandon bought a few bottles for himself. "I wasn't really focused on winning. I wanted to give Eric a good battle, and to get Garnet a little training. Calhoun was the stronger Pokemon, so it makes sense that he won."

Magnus saw Mark challenging Elena to a Pokemon battle in exchange for a bottle of milk. Magnus took out his Pokedex and scanned Minos, just to see if Mark was out of his mind.

"Mark... That Tauros is about twenty levels higher than your Combusken..." Magnus said to his new companion. He then turned the Pokedex on to the pokeballs on Elena's belt. "However, she does have a couple of Pokemon that are lower than Combusken."

"You also have to figure in type and if I remember correctly." Mark said taking out his new pokedex pushing buttons till he found what he wanted. "Yeah Tauros is weak against fighting type moves."

What the-? Elena wasn't flirting with Mark. If anything she just shut his 'charming' smile down. xD

Still grinning, Elena and Minos shared a knowing glance at Mark's request. Upon hearing that his Pokemon was nearly twenty levels weaker, she seemed nearly on the verge of laughing.

"You definitely ought to hold off a while before coming near Minos here then. However... I could make it a little more even for us." She wrenched free a bottle and set it casually at her feet. From her belt she snapped off a rather plain Pokeball. Upon clicking it open, a flash of light and a rush of air greeted the group as a star-shaped creature appeared.

"Thats a bit better then, aye?". She placed a hand defiantly on her hip. "But what if I win...?"

"Well if you win, I'll just let you decide that." Mark answered, taking the pokeball off his belt. "Go get 'em Combusken!"

 

[Aqualung]

Elena glanced to the Pokemon by her feet, the concern distant in her eyes. Mark's Combusken was a fair few levels above her Staryu, but at least she had the type advantage. So long as Combusken didn't focus solely on normal attacks with critical tendencies, they should be alright. Unless...

"Starda!" Elena called, without waiting for Mark, as the short star Pokemon leaped forward. "Use Harden!"

At the heart of the Staryu, its red core began to glow more furiously. A new type of sheen covered its body, solid and shining, as if it had been coated in glass. After a moment, the coating faded, merging with and strengthening the skin.

"Playing it that way are you? Alright then Combusken use focus energy, then double kick."

Combusken prepared itself then launched it's flurry of kicks.

Brandon sat on a nearby bench an put the milk in his bag. "Well two battles in ten minutes, this is promising to be a good day." Brandon remarked. He was beginning to like Jhoto.

The first kick connected, knocking Starda back, but not down. The rest failed to hit, however, as the Staryu swerved this way and that, stepping away from the kicks like a man on stilts. Finally leaning backward, the air rushed about Starda as it lifted from the ground and spun around the Combusken, spinning like a tossed disc. As it landed several feet away, Elena beamed, her fists clenched in anticipation.

"Harden, and spray 'em, Starda!"

Just as before, a second 'glass' coat enveloped the Staryu, before fading away, leaving its skin notably firmer. Soon as the defence vanished, a stream of water erupted from the Pokemon's tip, blasting its way toward Combusken.

"Move out of the way Combusken." Mark shouted but it was a bit too late Combusken took a good portion of the blast.

"You alright Combusken?" It nodded a yes. "Ok then hit it with a peck."

 

[Aqualung]

"Starda!" Elena was standing on the tips of her toes by this point, feeling lightened with anticipation. "Keep packing it on- Harden!"

Mere moments before Combusken attacked, a third screen washed over the Staryu. Though it hit with a striking amount of force, the damage was greatly lessened from its full potential. Starda reeled backward, still seeming set with determination.

"Hit him again with water gun!"
