I don't hate any actual genre, every genre has bad and good artists so I try not to generalize. I do have a flaming hatred towards the usual Disney "music", Justin Bieber and the absolutely terrible Jedward.
Seriously, how does Jedward even exist? All they do is jump around like absolute morons, singing completely out of tune and talk in a really hyper, retarded voice.
(Jedward probably only applies to folks from the British Isles. As far as I know they're not exactly poplour internationally, lucky gits.)

Let's see... Most rap, especially the stuff where it's a some guy rapping the whole time, never changing tone or having a chorus, over an irritating back beat. The older stuff was easier to hear, and they changed their tone a bit. Still don't like back beats, they tend to annoy me. Rap-metal is pretty cool, except lots of times they still have little dj scratch noises in the background, which still annoys me.

Death Metal. The music is annoying, and a lot of the fans (especially on Encyclopedia Metallum) seem to think that it's the only good kind of metal, and so on and so forth. I describe it as "BLAAH! I so BRUTAL! LOVE ME!" because if you replace brutal with angst and metal with pop-punk, it's the same as Emo. That said, I do like the occasional Melo-Death band. Children of Bodom, etc, although that's more despite the Death rather than because of it.

Singer-Songwriter. Oh GOD I hate this. Warren Zevon is the only one I like, and I don't know if he counts. To me, it sounds like country, minus anything approaching listen-ability. At least you can make fun of Country lyrics* while listening, but singer-songwriters have such bland songs it's impossible to not cry. You know how when you're listening to an awesome album, and stuck way at the end is an irritating ballad to draw in the art crowd, or most likely get a better Rolling Stones review. Now imagine a genre of music that's pretty much only that ballad. It's okay, it makes me cry too.



*Most lyrics (Power metal, holy shit) can be laughed at, their just really easy to hear in country, and there's the accent.

Your last two posts are so hilariously close minded I don't know where to begin...

Now I don't think it's fair to call him average. I like metal, but even my most hated genres just make me want to leave, I don't care if others listen to them or not. Hell, I could probably even date the worlds biggest singer-song writer fan, as long as we both promised not too make each other listen to our music. He's the average metal fan that hangs out at Encyclopedia Metallum all the time, maybe. Or the ones that make youtube comments about the Metal Militia. Most of us don't give a shit what others listen to, and your post claiming that is just as bad as him saying the guy should like metal more.

Call who? The "you should be disappointed guy"? I don't think that's quite fair to the rest of us. Maybe he's a stereotype of a certain sub genre, but not of the whole thing.

I like all music, but some genres of sound contain less music than others, and some can hardly be called music at all

Degrading a musical style won't make it any less music than you would want to.

And saying that my comment has no effect on the quality of these sound genres will not improve the quality of those genres either.
I completely agree with you, those genres are shit no matter how we address them verbally.

Metalcore, all the vocals are the same. Absolutely no vocal talent except screaming. See Metal By Numbers video.

Also any songs that have a message. I don't care what you think Rage Against The Machine. If I'm interested in some deep message I'll go read a book. I tend to filter out the words of most song and reduce the vocals down to its base sounds and how it synergizes with the rest of the music.

Country and rap are everyone's staple hatred style - and then they suddenly hate jazz when you play it to them.

I only find most styles that I don't like or hold as interesting to be the ones I haven't tried to get into yet.

I don't really hate any whole genres of music becuase while there are plenty of artists I dislike I've never encountered an entire genre of music that is without any merit so to speak off. Even dub step has Ellie Goulding.

I listen to classic rock, funk, power metal, and classical music. Everything else I either grudgingly tolerate or outright despise. And if I never hear another trance/electronica "song" again in my life, it'll be a delight. My ex-wife was into that music and it gave me a migraine.

about 90% of mainsteam music is bad in my opinion i dont "HATE" it but i wouldnt touch it with a barge pole.

Other than that i like anything and everything although i do tend to stay away from rap and country like like most people
