Eh, I'm not really a fan of motion controls in general, but if they have the games to back them up then I'll think about getting one. Especially with a Sly/Ratchet/Jak crossoversupposedly being made for the Move.

The funniest thing for me are the Playstation 3 commercials. They're just awful. The one about the chick who writes to Sony saying how her husband won't connect to online and then she says he hates candles too... oh God that was bad.

Also, I love at the end of those commercials when it says "It Only Does Everything", because in the back of my mind, I whisper "Except play PS2 games..."

That chart is pretty funny though. Obviously Sony doesn't get the concept of making your competition look bad.

Well out of the 3 I'm giving props to the Wii: It's been around the longest and certain developers finally know how to treat the hardware, at least Nintendo does... somewhat.

The move comes in second: Well if you're gonna copy a formula at least try to make the copy better than its source of inspiration. They actually showed some games being played with it, but it'll still be a while before people can really master its potential (See also: Wii, it's been around for 3 years and Nintendo still seems to be the only one who knows what it's really capable of, and that's open for debate)

Kinect: Screw it, it sucks.

Well it wasn't a strawman as saying "This is our spin" surely was implying Kinetic was somehow original as opposed to Move which is just a "better version of the Wii". Unless I've gone wrong somewhere....?

I'm not a fan of Move, I think that all the motion controllers will suck, but Move will most likely be the best. Why? It's the most versatile. What would Move be good for? Well anything that is good for motion controllers....which I have no idea as frankly with no feedback, all the controllers are a little shit, with the wii being extra shit for the complete lack of horsepower in the console. Anything that Kinetic can do, surely Move can do, and probably better. Same with Wii games. The real problem is there are no games which are made better with motion controls, or can only be done exclusively with motion controls. Until motion controllers have some kind of feedback so I can feel recoil and so on, they're all just a gimmick in my eyes.

I just meant that Kinect is tracking you, rather than a controller. It's different to how the Wii does things whereas the Move just seems to be copying the Wii (As a first impression, I'd wager the general public will see it like that too). Kinect is just a fancy eye-toy, but that's not a market competitor anymore. The wii is.

The thing about the alternatives is I can't see where the PS3 one comes in. The Wii is out, loads of people have it, it's got Sports/Resort and Wii Fit. There's a few other games but those are the big money makers which tend to sell Wii's.

Kinect has full body tracking so it can do games which really get people active that the Wii can't cover, I reckon it's basically gonna become the 'Dance game' peripheral. PS1 dance mats sold a LOT of PS1's to people who didn't game before and I reckon Kinect will do it again. If anything will kill it, it's going to be that it can only properly track two people at once. Which is a bloody stupid limitation but if they can sort that then I reckon it'll be bigger than chickenpox.

Move has the graphics, but it's just retreading the Wii. Kinda implies it would win amongst the 'proper' gamers, since casuals don't tend to care about graphics so they'll be happy with the Wii. Except as this forums shows (And you allude to yourself) most proper gamers don't give a damn about motion controls. At the end of the day it will come down to 'what sells', and it just seems Move will be hit by 'whats the point of this?'. Especially for the cost.

Move does body tracking....
Move can do everything that Kinetic can do, but Kinetic cannot do everything Move, or even the wii, can do.
At $150, Kinetic is far too pricey to become the next dance mat.
The problem with the wii is that the titles for it are doing nothing new and just rehasing archaic ideas, so Move is the first time a motion controller will be available for real gamers. BUT this could also be it's major weakness as motion controllers may only really be for casual gamers as they don't really offer anything new to gaming.
Move is a whole lot cheaper than Kinetic....SO can't really see how it's price is it's weakness. Plus if the 360 has shown anything, it's that gamers don't mind spending a small fortune on accessories, as long as it's not in a single transaction.

Well Kinect (It's kinect, not kinetic btw ) is £130. Move plus a second controller is £85, then £50 if you want two of the nunchuk thingys, making it £135. If it does full body tracking, what the heck does it need the glow-wand for? That just seems bizarre. :S

But hm, if the camera from the Move is on par with Kinects then it might just become an interesting race there. Then again if it is as good as kinect then how the hell are microsoft justifying a £130 tag compared to the £50 tag which includes a wand? Something ain't adding up there.

I was a genesis kid too. I got the genesis as a gift but always was a Nintendo Fanboy.

And Double Dragon (my favorite series) was crap on the GENESIS. I must have spend enough on my Super Double Dragon for my friend's snes then his mom on every game he owned.... he had a awesome collection.

The funny thing is, while the chart shows it clearly beating the Wii, it only has 2 more "Yes"'s than Kinect. What's funnier is that, the two extra "No"'s on Kinect, are actually selling points for Kinect; they aren't missing features.

The two are: "Buttons" and "Rechargeable Batteries"
Kinect has always sold itself as a controller-less piece of hardware that plugs into the 360. As in, not needing batteries. Also, being controller-less, it obviously won't have buttons. Also, Kinect WILL allow 360 controller support, so technically, you have buttons (Although, with that same technicality, you do now need batteries)

Also, in the feedback it mentions "color-changing sphere". Really? They traded audio feedback for that?

Of course it sees black. MS aren't stupid and if Kinect were really unable to see black poeple, then do you think that there'd be only such a minute disturbance in the Force? It can see black people because they have warm blood, like all humans who are alive. From what MS have released about the hardware, the camera doesn't pull people out of video (like the Eyetoy does), so colour interferance shouldn't happen.
