PC Gamers are elitist because....well, we're better. I don't mean that in some sort of spiteful, hateful way but there are many better games, a more mature community (most of the time) and a better control scheme.

thoughts? I understand why they have this group. Consoles have absolutely screwed over PC gaming in a lot of ways and it's hte best way to game alone. The day you can easily play a mod on a console is when I shut up about PC being vastly superior in every way to teh console.
It's sad, but true. Elitists are retards, and even though PC is my gaming device of choice I still hate to see this kind of bullshit. As furburt said on page one, we PC gamers (or any gamer for that manner) are generally nice people, and it's sad that this kind of asshole behavior goes out on users of any console or device. It's always "exclusive" this and "system specifications" that, who the hell cares? As long as there's enjoyable games for me I don't care if it's on 360, Ps3, PC, Gamecube, N64, PSX, Ps2, SNES, NES, Sega Genesis, or any other console.
We aren't better, that's kind of rude. I've been in arguments before about the merits of all the different platforms and I personally feel the PC is head and shoulders above all the consoles. I have mostly the same reaction to any elitists though. Anyone can enjoy something is welcome to it, but when they try and claim theirs is better, it makes me automatically go 'oh dear, must stop listening now.'
I don't care if you like something, I care if you try to claim it's better than something I like though.
Replace a few words and its what the hardcore fans of the PS3 and XBOX360 would say (and possibly WII but I haven't encountered any hardcore fans yet) Sooner or later, everyone is just going to have to realize that every gaming platform has its benefits and downfalls and that we're all pretty much the same.
Now that i've proven that i can sound like an after school special, i'll just skip away and sing songs
I don't understand why PC gamers even jump in to the Console Wars. Nobody really bashes the PC but they always find a way in whenever a flame war jumps off.
OT: If gaming was nothing but FPS and RTS, I would be inclined to believe him but it isn't. Consoles have their own strengths which play to certain gamers and PCs have theirs. Some people can't except that fact. Therefore we have groups like these who tout their preferences like there is no possible way that anyone else could prefer something else.

In general you should try both sides of the argument though. If someone claims chocolate ice cream is better than vanilla and you vehemently defend that it isn't without even trying chocolate ice cream your defense has little merit, doesn't it?MelasZepheos said:

Or the third option, people who tried it, didn't like it, and for some reason feel this gives them carte blanche to put down people who did like it. Sometimes other people have differing opinions, and most of the time those opinions have at least as much merit as yours, mmkay?

Every system has its pros and cons. You can't justify calling an entire group of gamers retards just because they don't share your point of view.
