There is not one thing that a console can do that a PC cannot, including split-screen play, including using a more comfortable controller (go buy a Saitek), including online multiplayer, etc, etc.
Perhaps some of those were more accessible in ages past, but for my personal purposes, I just prefer a PC. Most console-exclusive titles don't excite me, and every multi-platform game I see I would rather play it on PC than anything else.

I like to play 4x games, of which there are zero of on consoles (Galactic Civilizations, for example.)
I like to not have to pay much money for anything. Half the games I currently play are free or available for under 20 dollars, such as Torchlight, Stepmania, and Serious Sam HD. In the past, I've gotten plenty of games off of Abandonia and freeware sites, or indulging in a lot of online play-time of older games I had such as Starcraft and Diablo II.

On the note of story, there's loads for Half Life it's just in really tiny details, it's the way valve does things, it's like in Barney's locker in Blue Shift, you learn a bit about him, but hey, some people prefere story as an obvious line, I personally prefere having to hunt for it, gives me more to replay for. You are a fool. If anything the Wii is MORE of a games console than the 360, PS3 and PC are. It plays games and only games, it doesn't attempt to be a media centre or anything like that. And you talk like the Wii has no "proper" games at all. Zelda, Metroid, Mario, House of the Dead: Overkill, Boy and his Blob, Okami, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, The Conduit, Dead Space: Extraction, Resident Evil 4...not to mention loads more. Your idea of a gamer is totally messed up. A "true" gamer would be able to play anything and give a respectable opinion on it, no matter what game it is. That includes the Wii, which I may point out has some of the best games of this generation. Just because your Mum plays the Wii it doesn't mean it's any less of a console, I suppose you think that if she were to watch something like Die Hard, it makes it less of an action film.y1fella said:

And there's always the "hah, i'm better i have a real system, which needs professional tweaking, not some toy". This is really common around PC-Gamers.
