I don't remember ever believing in him. I think it's because my parents said Santa only gave us our stocking presents, which of course went against everything everyone else said about Santa. And it probably wasn't too traumatic finding out because stocking presents are shit anyway, what kid on Christmas gives a flying fuck about his stocking? I mean they're fun but it's like the boring unskippable tutorial you have to play through everytime you start a new game, I just wanted my Stretch Armstrong and Mega Zord not some foul chocolate and a yo-yo.

Also, not meaning to start a religious debate, but I think that religious families may play into the Santa thing alot more, actually putting effort into keeping Santa alive, my Mum's technically a Christian and would say she's a Christian but she never goes to church and doesn't own a Bible and she never forced religion upon us, and my Dad is more of an agnostic, probably believes in a God but doesn't think it's important enough to live by, we were never taught about religion at home and saw Christmas as more of a day where everyone was happy, because I don't remember Jesus ever being mentioned on Christmas at home.

When I realized a giant rabbit couldnt possibly be hiding eggs... That makes no sense... and from there the fantasy unraveled and I was run into a pit of depression... until I got an xbox 360 a few years later, then everything was FINE again

I was ten when I found out but I kept on saying I did since that equaled more presents for me. Yes, I was a greedy little thing.

Woke up in the night when I was about 8 cuz I heard a noise. Mum had forgot to shut my door so I watched in spectacular indifference as she crept by with arms full of presents.
When I was a kid it didn't matter who brought the presents as long as I got them. I'm different now, of course... maybe.

What the devil are you talking about? I have him tied up in my closet right now with his damn hat as a gag. Let's see him deliver me coal again this year. Bwa! Ha! Ha!

But really I camped out inside our coffee table when I was about 7 waiting for santa to come.
Instead my little mind was floored when I saw my parents come up and put the presents under the tree. I was heartbroken until I got a gamecube so I was all like :DDDDDD

I sort of pieced it together around the time I was eight. I was a logical sort of kid.

TF2 Sniper Voice: I'm gonna be honest with ya...

He does exist, the story of Santa Claus existed for as long as it was created. There also have been stories of an actual Kris Kringle or Saint Nick who was born and raised in Germany.

The spirit of Santa Claus is real, and it lives on with the people who carry on the story. Hey, for all we know, all those Santa Clauses that are really giving smiles to all the little childrens faces, are just his helpers.

Shortly after hearing about the existence of this "Santa", I planned to catch him in the act. I waited up, feigning sleep until I heard my parents go to bed, then I got up to wait for him... and found out he had already arrived. Stockings were stuffed and more presents were under the tree. I thought back to what I heard my parents doing, and came to the conclusion that they lied to me in order to make me more excited about presents they had bought. Confirmed when I found "Santa"'s wrapping paper in the closet.

...I think I believed in Santa for about ten days, total. I think I was four or five when this happened.

Santa did exist. Until that unfortunate incident in 1802... It was the same year the flying reindeer became extinct due to over hunting... he didn't survive the next year as he wasn't able to obtain his annual sustenance of cookies and milk...

ever since his body was discovered floating in the Atlantic, apparently determined to deliver the gifts, it was decided that we would be the ones to pass on the legend and recruited parents to tell of his tales.

Unfortunately it is human nature to not do as they were told and some of the parents decided to ruin everything. Doctrine dictates that parents must lie to children to hold the power of truth over them. the child must seek the truth themself and learn to disregard everything they've ever known. When that child grows up, becomes an adult and had a child of their own, it is that person's right to withhold those truths from their child and continue to circle of lies and deception.

the real problem actually happened in the 1960s when parents stopped giving bad children lumps of coal. Suddenly all children were getting gifts, regardless of their alignment. "All children are perfect angels and are filled with nothing but purity." bullshit. broke the system.

what makes it worse is that some countries stopped believing in Santa when he was still alive.

For some reason some truths are not believed and some myths are stated to be fact. Like "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." there's a myth that everyone seems to love.

actually, Saint Nickolas (the real guy) was from Turkey, and lived during the 4th century. he was famous for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and dropping pieces of gold down people's chimneys
