OT: Well...
She said "use a condom" like 50 times

Around nr. 37 I got about 9 of them from her too...
Heh. My mum gave me a bag of condoms. Quite a large one. She must think I get around.

However, generally, she gives quite sound advice. For eample "Maybe you should see adoctor about your hand." "Nah, I'll walk it off." Turns out, I'd broken it, it repaired itself, an grew an extra bit of bone on top of what was there before.

Now I see that my parents are very wise, and I was an idiot.

But in this case, I would disagree with your mother.
Cheaters only learn when they lose, not when they get away with it.
This.
However it doesn't give much comfort because by seeing the error of his ways with you he'll be nicer to your replacement..... Still it's good for society as a whole.
Sorry to dampen the spirit.

Was that the bloke you were going to dress up for?
yes unfortuneately
That sucks. Did you bollock him? (Kick him where it really hurts for a guy?)

OT: Fortunately I don't get weird advice from my parents, but I was fool enough to ignore the advice from my Mum to take some paracetamol, 4 days later I was being rushed to A&E in an Ambulance...life really sucked that year (3 trips within 2 years).

I broke up with my boyfriend monday because he cheated one me.. he came to my house last night begging for me back and i sure as hell wasn't giving him another chance. Then i talked to my mom about it and she was convincing me to take him back...what the hell?

so i was wondering if any of you have ever gotten strange advice from your parents
My parents were always wonderfully relaxed about me.

But you should definitely forget about this guy. You should be going out with me anyway! ;)

"Girls love it when you can play something for them on the piano"

Well... let me start with informing you that I'm gay...

My parents generally give me good advice.

But this advice from your mother... Is not good. NEVER take a cheater back. He's an ass and you deserve better.

When I was a teenager, I used to think my parents advice was stupid. Then I grew up.

When I was in my 20s, I thought that my parents were very wise, and I was an idiot. Then I grew up.

Now that I'm in my 30s, I see that my parents have a lifetime of experience to draw upon, but are as prone to errors of judgment as anybody else.

That all, said, I agree: dump the cheating bum. Otherwise, the only thing he'll learn is "don't get caught next time".

Not a paren't advice but in the same vain, Vice principle grady: "If you are ever confronted by a bully, walk away and tell an administrator, I promise we'll keep your identity far out of it." He sounded sincere enough that I tried it, never doing it again.

My parents can give good advice from time to time. I never ask them about relationship related things, but mostly they give good advice. I mean even the my best friend's mum gives totally ok advice(like: don't drink too much if you're stoned - totally legit advice, because if you do, then you won't be able to do shit) I don't know what the probs with all the other parents are.
