My last girlfriend was from Canada.
but did anyone know who she was? :)

yeah everyone has had a Canadian girlfiend
lol I hate it when the "my girlfriend lives in Canada" excuse is played. I understand that it's convenient for single guys to say she lives in Canada (where his friends are unable to confirm it). However, try mixing it up a little; Southern boys, say your girlfriend lives in Mexico. Not only is it more believable, but it's not cliche.

...and if you really are an American with a Canadian girlfriend, stay away from our womens! Just because they're much better quality than what you can get locally doesn't mean you can take our resources.
:p

For the record I hate toast.

But Canada is awesome.
I don't believe that. There is no way you have an undying hate of toast, where just the mention of the word infuriates you. You either say, "it's ok" or "it's meh. Not really my thing." On the other hand there is no one that raves about toast and have blogs dedicated to it because they just love it so much.

Canada?

You're like America; Only sane, nice, educated, calm, welfare policies...

Honestly, from what I see, your'e policy of non-involvement in world affairs makes you a good place to live. Sadly, such stoic attitude comes with a very high price tag eventually.

And as stupid as this is, first thing that comes to mind is ice.

I'm very surprised at this thread. Come on, don't be shy with the negative stuff. Yes, I do apologize for Celine Dion and the damage she has caused to people's hearing but nothing I can do about it. ;)

Wow looks like Canada must have spiked everyones drink, so far no one has a single bad word to say about them. The closest we've come to an insult is "its always winter" meh pathetic.

Canada needs to get a grip and start abusing people and puts itself out there otherwise when theres a huge world wide party Canada wont be invited as the rest of the world will forget to invite them.

"I used to think America was just full of assholes and cowboys. I now know some Canadians live there too." -Yahtzee

But seriously, Canada is awesome, and is the first place I'm going if a draft for one of bush's retard wars ever starts up.

America's retarded little brother.

Nah not really.

I've been to Vancouver and all of the people there were great. All really helpful and friendly, although that may have been due to the fact that I think about a quarter of them were stoned off their tits. Also if Vancouver is anything to go by the women in Canada are considerably more fit than those in my part of England.

All the time I was there I didn't get to hear one person say "ehh" or "aboot" though. :(

Well, your country gave us Kenny Vs. Spenny, so that makes up for it. Hilarious duo.

i know quite a few canadians, they are lovely people(probably because they don't say 'eh' at the end of every sentance),but i don't see what's not to like.

Besides,i'm irish so i can't judge other nationalities.

As its been so positive, I'll post my tale from the Montreal Comedy Festival, where Jerry Sadowitz was showing, possibly the most offensive comic in the world. I won't post any lines to prove it, but his more gentle stuff still provoked a reaction.

He wanders on stage, to thousands of Canadians and his first line is 'Good evening moosefuckers!'

He then follows up with 'I've only only got two reasons to hate Canada, half of you speak french and the other half let them!' at which point someone had go up on stage and punched him in the face!

I oughta state, although he's managed to offend almost anyone who's heard some of his act, I don't think he's racist, as he has a go at everyone. I remember him saying 'I don't hate everyone, I only hate two things, living things, and objects, oh and miscellaeneous, just in case!'

Also I like Jeremy Hotz, the small special I saw of his, anyway ' Oh yes, Canada, we strike fear into the hearts of other nations, whats that on our flag? a leaf? Don't come near us, we'll dry up and blow away!

He's lucky, if he were in Quebec city, he would not ever made it out alive.

I live in Vancouver, and I've never heard anyone say "aboot," either; it's more of an Atlantic accent, so you might hear it if you went to visit Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, or Labrador. (From what I hear, it wouldn't be worth the trip.)

Maybe some people say "Eh" at the end of every sentence, but here it's just kind of an occasional piece of emphasis that I've heard from Americans and the English, too.
