Would you cut off a limb to save a stranger?

Below or above the knee? In the saw scenario I don't really know, simply because of the chances of him killing us both anyway or that I could try to and foolhardly tackle him. But if this was more strictly some sort of accident or something less crazy, I probably would. Hell I don't know, who knows how anyone is going to react in a dangerous situation like that.
You know I think i'd probably not cut off my arm... I like the way it works at the moment. Also he could be bluffing or it could be some kind of illusion - and you can call the police a lot faster with two hands.

Well, I guess it 'could' depend on the limb and whether the person could offer me much, but in all honesty I'm pretty doubtful of my ability to cut off anything unless its with something that requires very little effort on my half, I mean using a guillotine or gun or something as opposed to a knife. Not sure everyone comprehends just how goddamn hard that would be, I'd certainly have a problem.
I would just unclip my prosthetic leg. He can't really complain can he, I mean it's already gone...

Chances are, we are both going to die anyway. Do you really think that crazy guy is just going to let you go after he kills the stranger? Most likely, "Noooooo.". He'd probably kill you for being so selfish - if he were anything like the Saw villain.
I probably wouldn't even cut off my own limb to take a stab at saving myself. The chance of actually surviving long enough to get help with a severely bleeding stump, is minimal. Depending on where he's keeping us , and the tools at my disposal.
If the limb was properly, medically amputated, by a doctor and I would be under, then sure; I'd save that other persons life and live with a prosthetic.
If I have to hack and slash off my own limb in a dirty alley or dirty old bathroom with a saw,...no chance. Noooooo chance. lol
