Favorite Final Fantasy?

You know, I'm seeing posts afraid of getting flamed for liking VIII or even X. You see, I actually like XI. It's just the game that's just so definitively "Final Fantasy" for me, what with the job system and in-depth storylines. (If there are any XI fans lurking about on the Carbuncle server, say hi to one Tamarsamar if you see him. That's me. )

I could go on forever about how XI is awesome and whatnot, but nobody likes fanboy gushing. Among the Final Fantasies I have played, here is how I would rank them:

XI (playing)
TA (finished)
I (Dawn of Souls remake, finished)
X (unfinished, lost)
III (DS remake, finished)
IV (GBA remake, finished)
II (Dawn of Souls remake, do not care to finish)

III ranks as low as it does only for its outdated D&D Magic system. I loved almost everything else about that game.

IV ranks as low as it does because I cannot stand ATB. I only played it in the first place to give the system a fair shake. Didn't like it very much at all.

Either X or XII for me. My favorite casts of characters and my favorite gameplay systems from the series.

Followed by Kingdom Hearts (yes, it's an FF game, and yes, I love it).

Among others, I like X and X-2 (yes, I'm a pervert), I have a fondness for VII, and I also like IX.

I've really enjoyed VII, VIII, IX, X, and XIII (although I haven't finished it yet) because of the story and the cinamatics. That being said I am really interested in finding and playing Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI because I've heard they were amazing in their day.

Draw between V and VI. However I haven't been playing the more recent Final Fantasy games. I'll probably one day get around to it.

10 and 13, they're also my favourite games of all time.

These games have the most human characters I've ever seen, and the graphics and summons in each are fucking awesome (for 10, relative to it's time, at least). Even though the Eidolons in 13 are kinda weak, most of the time not as strong as the party normally is, they make up for it in sheer awesome. Shiva kicks arse.

Number 8 it was the first one I ever played and is still not only my faviorte final fantasy it's my faviorte game ever peroid. I liked the story the charcters and it still has my faviorte set of boss fights and side quests in any game and i also enjoyed The card mini game which you could use to get rare items once you got to a cetian point.

I'm a bit of a veteran, I've played 1-7 and 9-12, beaten 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, and 12. It's hard for me to make a choice. Of the later games (9+), 9 takes the cake closely followed by 10. But of the early games it's gotta be 4, with 6 and 5 tieing as close second. 3 is easily my least favorite, I vowed to beat the games in order starting with 3, but it ate my soul and I couldn't forgive it.

Ah Final Fantasy, I miss when the games were good. Pretty much only 2 and 3.
That came out in the US, I don't know their original place in the series, but my cartridges said 2 and 3.

Never got the craze over FF7.
It was okay.

I liked Final Fantasy III on the DS a lot. When I still had it I would play it more than my console.

I'm still impartial on Final Fantasy XIII. Like the characters and story, just not sold yet. I reckon I'll have to play it for a longer period to get the full experience out of it. (Unlike Yahtzee...)

VI was good, VII was great, I enjoyed VIII (Because of the Gunblade...)

but my favoriets and the paragons of the Final Fantasy Series for me will always be I and II.
(Also: FF:CC for the Game Cube was awesome.)

FF IX for me is the best FF there is. Great characters (even Quina, to a point...), great story, it's a homage to the older FFs with 4 characters in battle and the obvious classes each character has. Good music, as always. Nobuo Uematsu has claimed that the Final Fantasy IX score was his favorite score and I agree. I just love it.

A close second is either VI or VII.

My favorites were FF7, tactics, and currently FF13.
FF7 introduced me to the series and pretty much got its hooks into me the first time I put it in the ps1. Tactics was interesting to me because it was a strategy rpg and not just a turn based rpg. As for FF13 I'm still in the process of beating it and so far I like the story, I just wish it wasn't so linear.

Well the only FF games i've played are FF3, FF7, and FF Tactics Advanced 2, so i'm going to have to go with Final Fantasy 7 on this one.

VII Only final fantasy I really got into the story, I've Tried a few others but they just don't seem to grab me as much.
