And then the body then fattens and slaps us about for obeying it. Growl.
The body fattens because you don't exercise properly, not because you eat meat.
Red meat is the most fattening food aside from chocolate and coconuts, though.

waiter: "how would you like your steak?"

Me: "screaming, if at all possible."

That always gets a little chuckle out of people. Although i object to offering financial support for our current meat industry. Its overly barbaric, and thats a problem for me. So i try to cut back.
Do what I do - buy organic. :)

I used to be a real meat head. But after seeing the kind of crap that goes on in factory farming I swore off meat altogether (animal cruelty is a big issue for me). These days I only eat meat which has been reared organically.
"Happy meat"! Actually there's a huge debate over how "happy" this meat really is.
There is also a huge debate about whether global warming is real or not. Mostly proliferated by people with a vested interest in not wanting people to endorse restraint rather than consumption. Ditto with happy meat.

One thing I can say is that free range meat is considerably happier than the creatures which spend their entire lives in cages barely bigger than their bodies.

I'm an omnivore but I haven't eaten a lot of meat lately since I am, to put it bluntly, poor as shit. I can't afford fruits or vegetables either. I've been living off of Mr. Noodles and Kraft Dinner for the better part of two months.
Shouldn't you have scurvy?
Fruit and vegetable pills. My aunt gave me a half year's supply of them in January. Gotta love 'em.

It's a scientific fact that eating meat makes you awesome. I mean, look at T-Rex. Totally badass.
And it also gives you feeble arms, just like T-Rex. Or maybe it was the other way around and my arms are non-feeble because of all the protein I eat (and exercise). I can never keep that one straight...

I don't care what other people do or don't eat, but I don't function properly without eating meat daily. If I don't eat a pretty substantial amount of protein, I feel like total crap, and aside from meat being a lot more protein dense than plant sources, animal protein has higher bioavailability, so trying to make up the difference by just eating massive amounts of nuts and beans and hummus and stuff (all of which I like and eat in smaller amounts) just makes me sick to my stomach.

My girlfriend was vegetarian for at least a decade and then vegan briefly, but these days she likes and eats meat as much as I do. She had to run out to three different stores last night because it was vitally important that she had some beef jerky to eat and was too distracted to do anything else until she got it. We also both have food allergy issues, and it's already enough of a pain in the ass feeding ourselves while avoiding the stuff we can't eat. We'd probably starve to death or be horribly malnourished with no meat involved (getting enough stuff like B12 can be a ***** if you're vegan).

Nothing like a tender juicy steak to go along with Call of Duty or Warhawk. Ya need to eat yer meat if you're going to mow people down!

I mow people down well enough without having to eat meat, and can claim a dubious moral high ground while doing so.

High ground is over-rated. Unless you're a sniper. But if you're a good sniper, that shouldn't matter.

I was raised a vegan, my mother's a vegan and she raised me on a vegan diet up to the point of 8 where as I got to chose for myself, and so far I've chosen to stick with it. I'm also lactos intolerant which is partly the reason for me staying vegan.

I don't mind people eating meat around me, having objections towards the customs of the general population would just be retarded, as long as people let me keep my diet I dont mind theirs.

18 now, for the record.

Loooooooooooooooooooool.

Morally superior my arse.

Being a morally superior person, I eat meat.
It would be an insult to the cow if we did not eat it. We must consume it to gain its strength and show that we consider it worthy of being eaten for this reason. [/sarcasm]

But yeah, I also think you're being a dick there.
Well I'm right and I'm a better person than you and all the other meat-eaters out there. You wouldn't agree with aliens being able to eat humans would you?

I could quote several of you, but I'm curious as to why a lot of the people referencing vegetarianism are claiming that they are morally superior to myself and others. I'll gladly start another forum if people want to get into that debate?

Every meal that I eat has meat in it one way or another. I will not eat any top tier predator(shark, large cat), cat or dog. Anything else I'll eat with no problem. If there are flies hovering around in an open air place near a farm, the food is probably going to be good.

I'm fine with vegetarians as long as they don't try to convert me, or stop me from using meat. However, I view the beliefs of raw food activists as being completely insane.

Vegetarian a few months now. Still eat cheese occasionally, especially on pizza, but drink soy milk. Honestly I really don't miss meat at all.

Made the switch for moral reasons. For what it's worth I do think eating meat (and taking the life of a being capable of suffering) is morally wrong. I don't yell at people in restaurants but that's where I stand.

Vegetarian since I was 10.
And while I won't moralize or point fingers, I can tell you that my digestion is superiour to that of any beef-eating mongrel.

No. I'm a better person because I'm not claiming something just so I can claim to be "better".

You're still a part of the human race. You, I and everyone else are complete bastards. Get used to it, go kick a puppy. And try to beat my high score (73ft.)

And yes, I would agree with humans being eaten by aliens. If we're too weak to fight them off, we're in the same position as other animals we eat.

I eat meat generally every day in some form or another. I concidered being a veggie once back when I was younger and thought about the animals. Then I had to shoot, skin and prepare a rabbit, and have done so with caught sea fish aswell (not the shooting part obviously), at which point I realised I was fine with it.

This is of course only my oppinion but it just feels like instinct. I could eat dog, or cat if it were offered, or horse. Couldn't eat my own, but then if I owned a chicken I doubt I could eat her either, wouldn't stop me eating something I have no emotional attachment to.
